Ch. 32He Agree

“Remember, Raya. I don't know how much inheritance you have. But I hope you use it wisely. do not forget, I will always be there to help you. Help is not always about material things, and I am always ready whenever you need me," Kevin's advice is full of attention and compassion.

Soraya nodded slowly, then breathed a sigh of relief. He is very grateful to still have Kevin by his side. At least, he feels safe because Kevin will continue to be there to look after him. A second later, the man got up from the long chair and stretched out his hand towards Soraya .

“I only have 15 minutes of rest time left. You just order a drink like other visitors. I will accompany you later until Joshua Andrew comes,” Kevin said calmly with a small, warm smile. Soraya accepted the outstretched hand, then got up from the chair.

They left the employee room with light steps. But they didn't realize that someone was hearing the conversation.

Someone who had been paid by the killer to spy on Soraya's every move while in the cafe. Someone who has his own hatred towards Soraya.

*****

It was 18.00, but Joshua Andrew had not yet appeared. Soraya had been waiting for more than an hour, even the drink in his glass was almost finished. Kevin, who had approached him three times, started to have the same confused expression as him.

Soraya started to feel guilty about Joshua Andrew's absence. She thought the man chose not to come to the cafe again because of her. Not wanting to linger any longer, Soraya immediately drank her drink until it was finished before getting up from the chair. He was sure that Joshua Andrew would not appear and intended to visit the man's residence and apologize directly.

“Are you going home yet?" Kevin asked quickly when Soraya paid for his drink. He didn't forget to give a tip to the waiter who served him earlier.

“I don't think he will come. "So..." answered Soraya, then fell silent in doubt.

"What?" Kevin asked briefly.

“I think I'll go to his house. Who knows, I might meet him there," Soraya answered flatly, still sounding unsure about her decision.

“Just call, Raya," suggested Kevin calmly.

"Hah? "Erm, I-I think it's better to meet him and talk directly," said Soraya nervously. Kevin nodded in understanding, then patted Soraya on the shoulder while wearing his typical worried expression.

“"Let me know when you get there, and be careful on the road," Kevin said with concern. Soraya nodded quickly, then stepped out of the cafe. The hustle and bustle of the streets accompanied him as he walked towards Central Station.

Soraya was determined that today she had to talk to Joshua Andrew. The man must know that he already has the money to pay for his services. And after that, he will ask Joshua Andrew to immediately urge Brad to immediately continue the investigation into Mama's murder case.

I'll find him, Mom. I will definitely find the murderer. He must receive appropriate punishment. Must!

Soraya stepped forward with a high level of self-confidence. Without Soraya realizing, there was a man following her from behind, observing his every move, occasionally even taking photos from a distance. Soraya also didn't know that the days were getting longer, then security and safety are increasingly threatened.

*****

The clear night sky, sprinkled with stars and bright moonlight, accompanied Soraya's steps as she walked on the sidewalk towards Joshua Andrew's house. This elite residential area is not as quiet as the residential area where he lives. Occasionally Soraya's gaze was fixed on several cars passing by on the street. The parking lot of each house began to fill with vehicles that seemed to have just arrived after getting home from work. The presence of pedestrians walking on the right and left of the sidewalk as well as a row of several cars parked on the side of the road, made the atmosphere quite lively tonight.

Soraya tightened her favorite black sweater and gripped the bag strap tightly every time someone passed her.

The fear of what happened to her mother increased Soraya's vigilance . He quickened his steps when he saw Joshua Andrew's house out of the corner of his eye. Soraya has only been to this area once, but he had memorized the location of Joshua Andrew's residence as easily as if he had visited often.

After finding out that Joshua Andrew didn't show up at the cafe today, for some reason Soraya felt guilty.

Soraya kept thinking that Joshua Andrew's absence at the cafe was her fault.

He tried to remember what he had said at that time that could possibly have offended Joshua Andrew.

Is he annoyed that I bargained for his services? Is Joshua Andrew angry because I doubt his expertise in handling cases? Or... was he offended by my outburst of disappointment?

These questions seem to haunt me, made him feel even more guilty. That's why he intends to meet Joshua Andrew and apologize directly. At least if the man is willing to forgive, then it will be easier for him to ask Joshua Andrew to accept his mother's murder case.

Soraya tried to put aside Joshua Andrew's cold and firm nature.

It's not that she intends to get used to dealing with traits like that, it's just that Soraya is trying to act mature.

He tried to think that this cold and firm nature was the professional attitude that Joshua Andrew put on every time he faced clients.

Yes, it's better for Soraya to think of it that way. At least that way his fear of Joshua Andrew was slightly reduced.

After walking several tens of meters, he finally arrived opposite Joshua Andrew's house.

Soraya looked right and left before deciding to cross. The large house without a fence looked deserted at the moment, which actually adds to the eerie impression that makes anyone think ten times about approaching it.

Just like the first time he visited the house, Joshua Andrew's house felt like it had no soul. In contrast to the houses around it which look warm and have their own soul. During the journey to Joshua Andrew's house, Soraya noticed several houses along the sidewalk. There are cars entering the parking lot of each house. The warm welcome of the children and wife when the husband arrives home shows that the residence has soul and warmth.

Joshua Andrew's house, even though it looked big and spacious, Soraya could feel how empty and cold the house was. Even today, When Soraya arrived at the door of Joshua Andrew's house, there was no significant noise that could indicate that the house had residents. This house is just like its owner. Cold, eerie, and seemingly soulless.
