“You already said that," said Joshua Andrew quickly as he put his hands in his trouser pockets. Soraya averted her gaze from Joshua Andrew.
He tried not to look at the man's face and tried to reorganize the sentences he had composed in his head.
“Y-yeah... um, like this... my mother was murdered, so....”
Soraya immediately stopped talking when she accidentally raised her gaze and caught the change in Joshua Andrew's expression.
Soraya tried to remember what she had said before and corrected whether there was anything wrong with her words that made Joshua Andrew's cruel aura seem fiery.
“Erm, sorry. When I came here... so, I wanted to ask for help... the police said it wasn't like that... but... ouch, I mean the police couldn't find him... but I think they were like... lying...," said Soraya while catching her breath. Joshua Andrew's face began to contort in confusion.
“I-I've been there many times, but... until now I can't do anything. Can ...? I mean... yesterday you said that... in a cafe you don't want to...," Soraya continued again while watching Joshua Andrew's expression increasingly frown until his thick eyebrows almost came together because of her words.
Soraya wanted to stop her lips from moving, but it was difficult. All the words that filled his head just came out so that they sounded messy and strange.
“W-at that time I tried to talk to the police... Brad... he actually asked for something that... ah, I mean... forget what I said earlier. So...my arrival...you see, I want it—“
“Enter!" Joshua Andrew interrupted angrily, then turned around, walking away from him.
“S-sorry?” said Soraya, stunned to hear the order.
“Come in and talk about everything inside," said Joshua Andrew over his shoulder, then stepped further away, then disappeared from his sight.
Soraya breathed a sigh of relief. Soraya didn't know what she had actually said before. In fact, he was sure that only people with a high IQ level could understand what he said.
Soraya was grateful when Joshua Andrew stopped her. Because if not, Soraya could potentially embarrass herself in front of the man.
He was still standing outside, looking at the contents of the house as far as her eyes could reach.
Suddenly, doubt emerged and invaded his body. That doubt seemed to hold Soraya's feet from stepping in.
Not long after, Joshua Andrew suddenly appeared from behind the wall carrying a glass of orange juice. The man frowned in confusion when he saw that he was still outside the house.
“Come in, or better just leave!” Joshua Andrew said coldly as he stepped closer then turned into another room.
Finally, Soraya stepped in and closed the door. His heart was beating fast. He didn't know what would happen next. At least, he had tried even though he was afraid.
Joshua Andrew's eyes looked at Soraya who was standing awkwardly next to the living room sofa. Her small hands gripped the bag strap in front of her chest, as if the strap was her life saver.
Joshua Andrew could catch the tension that was clearly visible on Soraya's face from the first time he decided to meet the woman.
Joshua Andrew returned to examine Soraya from head to toe. This was the first time Joshua Andrew felt the need to examine someone more than once.
Usually, he is able to judge someone with just one look. He is also able to remember every stiff, sad, scared, even nervous expression of someone easily.
In fact, to this day he can still remember every expression his victims made and what they looked like before he took their lives. Really remember even the smallest details.
But this time, somehow he felt different. Joshua Andrew studied Soraya as if he had missed something important.
His eyes felt inadequate if he examined the woman only once. It took him two times—wrong, three or four times—wait, no! The truth is, I need more and more.
Why? Because there was something in him that couldn't be satisfied just by looking at that woman.
There was something wild about it, which made him want to get closer and examine her in more detail. More detail. More intimate.
Quickly, Joshua Andrew dismissed his dissatisfaction and tried to research the woman's whereabouts as best he could.
Soraya's appearance was different from what he usually saw in cafes.
Joshua Andrew didn't expect that Soraya had long, beautiful, caramel brown hair that looked soft even though he hadn't touched it.
Joshua Andrew could clearly imagine how the hair slipped between his fingers, while Soraya's head was pulled back, making room for his beloved knife to caress that long, smooth neck.
Tightly pressed red lips with a slight sweet curve at each corner, made him want to paint those lips with blood.
He was sure that blood red colored his lips more appropriately than even the most expensive lipstick.
Joshua Andrew bit the corner of his lip as he imagined the delicious sensation when he succeeded in sucking Soraya's lips and biting them as hard as possible.
With great difficulty, Joshua Andrew tried to shift his gaze to Soraya's eyes. Previously, he thought that Soraya's eyes were dark brown.
However, when the woman stood outside and was exposed to sunlight, Joshua Andrew realized that Soraya's eyes were the same color as her long hair. Caramel chocolate.
However, one thing that made Joshua Andrew unable to contain the turmoil within him was the blood-red t-shirt that the woman was wearing.
In an instant, Joshua Andrew was able to imagine Soraya's naked body covered in blood and helpless under his power. A moment later, Joshua Andrew struggled to regain his senses
He tried to focus his attention on the problems Soraya was experiencing.
“Please sit down," said Joshua Andrew flatly, then took a sip of orange juice from his glass, trying to get rid of the dry feeling in his throat caused by Soraya's presence. His eyes locked on Soraya's movements , while he leaned on the side of his grand piano which was a few steps from the guest sofa.
