Matt's focus is now on the footsteps even though his eyes are still on the television. Unfortunately, today didn't seem to be on Matt's side at all. Matt was talking about an Avril here. Anything impossible was possible in Avril's eyes. As the footsteps got closer, Matt finally gave up.

"Hey! What movie are you watching?" Avril asked.

Matt was stunned. Why did Avril have to come again? Why was Matt still surprised when he already knew that the footsteps probably belonged to Avril? Why wouldn't Avril leave him alone? Wasn't the incident this afternoon embarrassing enough?
Avril didn't take offense. Instead, she sat on the other sofa without Matt's permission. Avril even reached for a piece of cake on the table. Next, Avril folded her legs and sat comfortably on the couch. For a popular kid, Avril doesn't care about her image at all. Funnily enough, that part caught Matt's attention.

"As you can see" Matt finally replied.

Avril's eyes widened with excitement. She pointed to the movie. "I like Avenger. I like Spiderman."

Matt nodded stiffly. Now, he doubted he could enjoy the movie properly. Matt wasn't good at approaching girls. Even if she was as friendly as Avril. Matt didn't have enough experience with women. That also meant Matt didn't have the experience of being approached by a woman like this.

"I like this version better. You know what? Genius Peter likes M.J." Avril said again.

Matt looked at Avril. Yes! Avril is more or less like MJ although Avril is much more active than Zendaya in Spiderman Far From Home. She shines just as much as MJ and is even cooler. Silence! Matt just nodded and did not respond to Avril's words. Matt just wanted Avril to get the hell out of there.

"Actually, characters like Peter intrigue me," Avril said, glancing at Matt.

Matt was silent. Yes, Peter Parker is at least a genius and a hero. It was only natural that MJ was curious about him. What about Matt? Matt was a loser and he didn't have anything.

"Yeah. No wonder. Genius and mysterious," Matt said. Hopefully, Avril would stop.

"Yup. Mysterious" Avril agreed. "Doesn't need to be a genius actually."

Matt moved uncomfortably. Matt may be a loser but he clearly knew the hidden meaning of Avril's sentence. One thing Matt didn't understand, why him? What would make Avril curious about a loser like him? Oh my God! Is Matt being bet on like in the movie? No way, right? But, this time Matt decided to speak up.

"You can't find pleasure from me, okay?" Matt said trying to be firm. Matt hoped his efforts would not fail.

However, things were not going well for Matt. Avril was laughing. Unfortunately, Avril's laughter made Matt forget what he had said earlier. Avril was glowing and her radiance again managed to make Matt drift and mess up at the same time. Not long after, Avril's laughter died down.

"Aren't we talking about Peter? We're talking about Spiderman, right?" Avril teased.

Matt was speechless. Avril was obviously teasing him! Matt knew Avril's intentions beforehand! Then, Avril looked at Matt with a lopsided smile. The sweet and friendly Avril had disappeared along with that lopsided smile. Why is Avril looking so sexy right now? Avril's words from earlier in the day finally came back to Matt's head.

At that moment, Matt wanted to say that it wasn't the shirt that was hot but Avril. Damn! Can't Matt find a single weakness in Avril? Why is it that the more Avril is around, the more mesmerized Matt becomes?

"I told you I can be reckless. You've seen it now" Avril said.

Matt cleared his throat trying to separate between Avril and the word hot. Then, Matt couldn't help but notice Avril. Avril was not as tall as Johanna. But, Avril's body was shaped and hot. How many times had Matt said the word hot today?

"You're not coming home?" Matt asked uncomfortably.

"Ka-boom, Matty! surprise!" said Avril while looking straight at Matt. Avril's smile grew and again, Matt couldn't avoid it at all.

Ka-boom! Matt could hear his heart racing.

If Matt says Avril Marie Mohler is crazy, Matt believes he has every right to say so. How could he not? That night, Avril didn't go home. Although sleepovers are not uncommon among popular kids. Still, Matt wondered how they could leave home so easily? Isn't home the only comfortable place to come home to? At least, Matt thought so himself. Really? Matt was just making excuses because he was uncomfortable with Avril's presence.

"Your parents will be looking" Matt reasoned.

"I already asked permission," Avril said lightly.

Avril sat on the sofa comfortably. After Avril said Ka-Boom, Matt tried to neutralize his heartbeat and chose to ignore Avril. Surprisingly, the girl did not take offense at all. Instead, Avril seemed to be enjoying the movie even though Matt was pretty sure she had already seen the movie.

Matt tried to focus his mind on the movie. Mysterio was making trouble and Matt was even more surprised. Hey! Did Matt miss something? Why this sudden attack? Matt could have replayed the movie but somehow, it felt embarrassing. As if, Avril would know that her presence affected Matt.

"I wonder, why would any man go to the trouble of organizing drama like this just for reputation?" Avril commented.

Avril's comment just now made the frown on Matt's forehead increase. Okay! Matt didn't understand at all. What was this all about? Matt didn't even understand what Avril had just said.

"Oops!" Avril covered her mouth with both hands while her eyes widened. "Did I just give a spoiler? Oh, my gosh! I'm
sorry!"

Matt tried to blame himself. How could he even notice such a small detail about Avril? How could Matt have just thought Avril was cute? Okay! Everyone who saw Avril probably did think Avril was cute. But, still! Matt must not fall under Avril's spell. Not at all!

Avril snorted as she realized Matt was ignoring her again. For God's sake! Johanna was studying up there and when she chose to spend time with Matt, he didn't even acknowledge her. This can't be happening, right?
