As soon as the trio walked into the Dolby Theater, they were greeted with a magnificent red and yellow gold. Warren guided Avril and Matt to their seats. They got tickets in the center of the main seats. Once they were seated, Avril immediately took in the whole theater.
The stage of the Dolby Theater was huge. Avril estimated that the stage was the size of a ship with a length of 30 meters. Maybe even more. The main stage of the Dolby Theater was oval with gold edging. At the top, a large curtain became another magnificent accessory that was installed very charmingly, still in yellow gold. It's almost like the curtain has been ripped away, making everything on stage the main focus of the audience. The floor of the main stage was flawless. The floor was so shiny that Avril was sure she could look in the mirror. Reportedly, the Dolby Theater stage is one of the largest stages in mainland America. Avril wasn't sure what Kim felt.
Seating in the Dolby Theater consists of several groups of seats. The 3 main groups of seats in front of the stage are exactly like the seats in a movie theater facing the main screen. Each group of seats was separated by an aisle. Avril, Matt, and Warren got the center of the main group of seats. Secretly, they were grateful for the center seats. They didn't have binoculars to identify which one Kim would be in.
The seats in the Dolby Theater are multi-layered. After the 3 main groups of seats, at the back is a second layer of first seats. The second layer of seats is higher in position than the first. With more and more seats at the back. Then, at the top, like the seating in a sports stadium. There are 3 layers of seats located in the stadium. In this section, the seats are even tighter. The aisles between seats are tighter than at the bottom. While on the right and left sides, there are special groups of seats. The officials occupy them. The right and left sides are exactly like private balconies for those sitting there with chairs that have been prepared.
Okay! This is a new experience for Avril. Avril had a series of experiences that she could tell her grandchildren about. But, Avril had never sat in a chair like this to watch musical theater or even a ballet performance like now. Then, sitting here, Avril swears that the audience is packed. Avril predicts that there are thousands of people there. Well, what did Avril expect? Isn't the Dolby Theater one of the biggest stages?
"Can you imagine Kim in ballet attire?" Warren said to Matt.
Warren sat on Avril's left while Matt sat on Avril's right. They deliberately made Avril sit in the center. So that Avril is free to chat and not feel bored at all. Warren still didn't understand what happened between Avril and Matt. There were several irregularities according to Warren. Matt being able to recognize Avril was the ultimate awkwardness. Naturally, Matt would stay away from someone like Avril.
"No, no, no. Oh, maybe she's a witch," Matt said. "I mean, with all Kim's gothic makeup, she'd be perfect for that"
Avril nodded. "Antagonist roles are cool too. I love being the antagonist. Unfortunately, I've only had one antagonist role."
Warren laughed. "Your face is better suited to be the protagonist, A!"
Matt nodded inwardly. Avril's sweet face didn't suit being an antagonist at all. Especially when Avril smiled sweetly. Matt was even sure that she was suited to be a creature from another world like a fairy. Her beauty was truly radiant and Avril was truly glowing. Then, at that very moment, Matt broke his reverie. What was he thinking exactly?
"I'm also good at being the antagonist," Avril said. "I'll get into the role once I'm on stage. By the way, Warren. Call me Marie, okay?"
"Oh, right. Marie. Okay!" said Warren trying to familiarize himself.
"Good!" said Avril with satisfaction.
" But, yes! I heard that because you're the antagonist, people favor the antagonist," said Warren.
Avril laughed amusedly. "No, of course. if you follow the storyline, I'm still evil" Warren nodded.
"But, M! Your acting was praised again if I'm not mistaken. The newspaper called you a good seed"
Avril waved her hand. "That's too much. After all, my stage is just a small stage. Not like Kim's."
While Warren and Avril chatted naturally, Matt could feel himself starting to sweat. Why did it feel like he couldn't get into their conversation naturally? Matt didn't know anything about Avril. Matt only knew Avril was everywhere. Matt didn't know Avril's achievements at all. Even Avril's acting was praised, Matt didn't know anything about it. Why did Warren know all that? Warren was just like him and even weirder because he was crazy about IT.
"Can you sing?" Warren said.
Matt listened. Warren could find a topic! Oh, my gosh! Why does Matt feel stupid now?" You'd be surprised," said Avril." So?" said Warren curiously.
"Well, I'm surrounded by talented people. I got into theater because of my acquaintance, Athena. Athena is a real monster, more so than Johanna," said Avril.
"More than Johanna?" said Warren incredulously.
Avril nodded. "She can do everything. Sports, art, and even lessons. With Athena and Aunt Camille, they taught me how to sing. Aunt Camille is a great singer and she used to liven things up at family gatherings."
Matt listened. Family gatherings. Matt didn't even get to meet his family until the eleventh grade when his stepfather finally proposed to his mother. Since childhood, there was only Matt's mom and Matt. Matt had grandparents of course, but Matt's family life wasn't even as bright as Avril's. Singing together at family gatherings? That was an impossibility. The only good memory Matt had was of his grandmother telling Matt a story while rubbing his head. Matt used to rest his head on his grandmother's lap. Then, at the end of the story, his grandmother would reassure Matt that everything was okay. Matt would find his own story and a happy ending too.
"You never sing on the radio" Warren said.
Avril shook her head. "We sing for fun, Warren. I'm the announcer, by the way."
Warren nodded. "Maybe you can sing a little"
Avril laughed. "Let's see. How dare I make a fool of myself"
Warren adjusted his glasses firmly. "According to my prediction, you won't care at all. You can do it"
Avril smiled. "You're quite observant."
Besides Avril, Matt was deep in thought. They were complete opposites. Then, before they knew it, the show was about to start. The lights in the theater were turned off and Warren stopped engaging Avril in conversation. At that very moment, Avril took her chance and leaned into Matt.
"Are you okay?" whispered Avril.
