That afternoon, the field was crowded. It wasn't just the cheers of kids who filled the field, some were doing football drills, some were running on the track and some were just filling the bleachers to watch their friends practice. Sydney was still walking with her annoyed step.
"Don't worry about it" Avril told Sydney.
Sydney looked at Avril in horror. "Did I hear you wrong? Don't think about it too much. You know what? Val should learn from the rumors."
Avril nodded. "She should. Well, do you want to waste your time thinking about it, Val?"
Sydney looked at Avril in horror for the second time. "Of course not. I've got a lot of things to deal with."
Avril nodded in affirmation. "Exactly. One of the reasons I'm not thinking about it. I have so many other worthwhile things to deal with."
Sydney thought about what Avril said. It made sense too. But, still! It was annoying to be helping someone and then get yelled at. Of course, Sydney believed Avril could take care of herself. She was Avril Marie Miller. Valerie was no big deal to her. Then, Sydney's eyes rounded when she saw Zed on the football field.
"Oh, is Zed at practice now?" Sydney said excitedly.
Avril watched as Zed warmed up with his team. Zed's tall frame stood out among the football boys. Ed and Evan were giving directions and as always, Zed was the humble member of the football team. But, as almost everyone knew, Zed was the football team's ace. When Zed took the field, there was a good chance his school team would win. That's because Zed had a balanced skill set in almost every area. Zed could run fast, play strong defense, and even analyze in the tightest of situations.
"Like, yes!" said Avril. "That's weird! I mean, doesn't Zed usually not train? Zed usually only joins the training to train the recruits. It's not even the beginning of the year."
Sydney smiled at Zed. "Yeah, it is! But, who cares? I've got a lot of things to take care of."
Avril laughed. Despite her words, Sydney was watching Zed like a child watching her favorite lollipop. Most of the members of the cheer were Zed fans. Well, it could even be said that the majority of cheer members were fans of Avril's friends. Avril couldn't blame them at all. Her friends were amazing and even Evan had his talent.
Once on the field, the cheer members were sitting on the sidelines watching the football boys practice. Avril just smiled a little. The football team warming up was irresistible. Everyone would notice their muscles and even their serious faces managed to be the main attraction.
"Nice view, huh!" said Avril.
"Oh, A! When are you coming?" said Nancy still glancing at the football team.
"Not long!" said Avril. "I can give you some time if..."
"No!" said Nancy. "Let's start practicing!"
They started warming up too. However, it was not uncommon for members of the cheer team to steal glances at the football team. Avril pretended not to notice. Today it might be even harder for the members to concentrate because Zed was in there.
"Ready! 1... 2... 3..." Avril began to lead the warm-up.
For the cheers team, Zed was a sight to behold. Zed could only be looked at, of course. Rebecca, their older sister who worked as a model as well, had once confessed her feelings which Zed had rejected outright. This was already an open secret. Zed had feelings for Avril Miller and no one could contest that at all. when it came to Avril, it felt like no one could contest it anymore.
From a distance, someone was doing the same thing by watching the cheers team warming up. Zed noticed Avril who was practicing with her members. Her tied-up hair showed Avril's seriousness during practice. As she practiced, Avril always had a serious look in her eyes. Not only serious. In all the time Zed had known Avril, he had never once seen Avril tired. People might think Avril had unlimited energy. Well, not entirely wrong and certainly not entirely right. Indeed, Avril had quite a lot of energy. But, Zed knew, the real reason was because Avril loved everything she did. That's why Avril is always so passionate about what she does.
Ed and Evan managed to kidnap Zed earlier. They persuaded Zed to join the match. Zed wasn't interested at first. However, after realizing that his chances of seeing Avril would increase on Wednesday, Zed finally decided to accept Ed and Evan's offer. Of course, Ed and Evan had already offered various gifts for Zed. Unfortunately for Zed, he already had his prize, the chance to see Avril Marie Miller.

"Oh, my gosh! I don't know how long I can do that move, A!" complained Sydney.
The cheers team has just finished practicing. Avril is introducing new moves to her friends and of course, Sydney gets the hardest one. Today, Sydney was asked to do a stun in the air. Sydney is used to doing cartwheels. However, stun is different because Sydney has to stretch her body in the air. A somersault only requires a start and then the body will follow the movement following gravity. Stun is different.
Sydney occupies the Flyer position just like Avril. The flyer is the one who is in the top position. In addition to the flyer who is in the top position, simply put, the base is in charge of lifting the flyer while the safety section helps the base while catching the flyer when it is dropped.
"You can do it later," Avril said as she gave Sydney a drink of water.
Sydney took it well. "I'll practice boss! How do you do that?"
"What?" asked Avril confused.
Besides Sydney, Avril also got a new move. Avril did flipping flying in the air. Her body spun like a spiral in the air.
"How can you do flipping flying so easily?" said Sydney.
Avril shrugged her shoulders. "It's a challenge. You know I like challenges."
Sydney nodded in understanding. "It's just, that was pretty dangerous, A. Especially if you're just trying it out"
Avril nodded in understanding. Avril is attracting attention again because of the move she made earlier. Avril heard the screams as soon as she made the move and when she landed perfectly on the base, Avril heard the cheers. Almost everyone on the field was watching her and it seemed like Avril almost made the hearts of everyone watching her fall out. So cute!
"I learned from my family. She was in cheers. So, yeah, let's just say it's a treasure I've been hiding," Avril said.
Sydney laughed with amusement. "Your family is as unique as you are."
Avril smiled. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Afterward, they were ready to go home. The football team also finished its practice. Avril could feel her friends excited. The football team and the cheer team were good friends. Usually, they would offer the cheers team a ride. Avril knew this was what her friends were waiting for. Usually, Avril would go home with Evan. Evan approached with a grim face.
"Unfortunately, I have to go to the hospital today A. My grandmother is sick," Evan said.
"No problem. I can take the bus," Avril said soothingly to Evan. "It's no big deal. I wish your grandmother a speedy recovery."
Evan nodded. He still seemed hesitant to leave Avril. But, it looked like Evan had to hurry. Ed, who saw the opportunity, walked over to Avril while the other friends were already offering rides to the girls. Unfortunately, Zed had already taken the first step. As Avril picked up her bag, Zed stepped closer.
"Zed?" said Avril.
The man smiled handsomely. "I'm collecting my ice cream treat, A!"
