Ch. 66

The man took out quite a lot of money from his wallet. And handed it to me.

"Take it, buy some food," he said, handing me some red bills.

"You guys disperse!" he ordered.

They dispersed while swearing unhappily. I breathed a little easier, grateful that God was still willing to send his angels to protect me.

"Thank you," I said softly.

The stranger just left me. I saw him get into a luxury car and drive away.

'Thank God, you're still kind to me!" I prayed to myself.

Remembering that incident, my lost sense of humanity returned. There were still other good people, besides bad people like Andre and his family.

Someone's whimpering woke me up from my long daydream.

I looked back at the weak face lying not far from me. That handsome man I saved was either a good person or a bad person. If he was good, then maybe he would be the solution to the problem I was facing. On the other hand, if not. Then I was digging my own grave.

"Jhon, I will be very sorry if it turns out that I was wrong in judging you," I said.

As if he could hear and understand what I was saying. A little dreaming and hoping, that's all I can do right now. That handsome face full of bruises was faithfully closed. And during that time, I didn't dare to leave him alone. He still had a high fever and was often delirious.

Onnur ...."

"Go ...."

"Onnur..."

That's how it was every time Jhon was delirious. I thought that maybe Onnur was his son. From his face, I knew Jhon was a grown man. It was possible that he already had a son.

Considering we both have sons. I was even more eager to get him well. He must be missing his son a lot. From the way he called Onnur's name, I knew how much he cared.

"Get well, Jhon. You must meet your Onnur soon."

I rubbed his hand with mine, to keep him warm. For two days and nights, she was delirious. His body temperature went up and down. I was worried, but luckily every time I mentioned Onnur's name, it seemed to make him re-energized.

This morning, I took the initiative to wipe her body. Unexpectedly, today her eyes opened. She looked at me full of question marks.

I, who saw her awake, felt happy. Finally, God had answered my prayers.

"Thank goodness, you finally woke up too!"

She frowned in confusion, looking at me.

"Onnur?"

"You should recover soon so you can meet your Onnur," I said confidently.

"You... know Onnur?" he asked again.

"No, but maybe he's your son." I replied casually.

"Son?" Jhon flashed a smile that I couldn't understand.

"I took your money to buy some food and medicine. Sorry," I said softly.

"Hmmm, thank you," he said.

She still looked weak, but it looked like she was about to get up.

"Eit, where are you going?"

The man was about to stand up, but the wound on his leg was unable to support his own weight. Jhon almost fell down, luckily I was quick to catch him. Although in the end, I actually fell on him. Maybe it was because I was only half his weight.

His big body was so heavy, I was on top of his broad chest. In a position like this, people would think negatively if they saw him.

I could feel his heartbeat. In fact, his breath was so warm against my face. We were silent for a moment, so awkward. I'm an ordinary woman, who is sometimes weak in awkward situations like this.

"Sorry."

I quickly got up and straightened myself. I looked down, embarrassed by what had just happened. Hopefully, Jhon wouldn't think badly of me after this.

"Does something hurt?" I asked, worried about his condition. The wound was treated as it was and I fell on his chest area. Where there was one of the wounds there.

"No, I should have known better. I'm sorry for giving you so much trouble." he regretted sounding so sincere.

"I'll buy some food first. You just woke up, you need a lot of energy to recover. What do you want to eat?" I asked, trying to distract myself.

"Anything. Is there any money left?"

"There is."

"Take it," he ordered, handing me a card.

I wasn't so stupid, I knew the black card was a magic card that only high-class people had. With the shabby clothes I was currently wearing, there was no way I would be allowed inside any big store.

"I can't use it," I refused.

I looked at the clothes currently being worn. Apparently she understood it.

"Take some cash, and buy some decent clothes. I need your help this time. Don't worry, I'll reward you appropriately," he explained at length even though his voice was still weak....

Instantly my eyes lit up, God seemed to be answering my prayers this time. I said goodbye and immediately left according to his orders.

I went to an automated teller machine to withdraw some money from the card that Jhon had given me. After getting my turn, I idly checked the balance the man had.

"WOW!"

My eyes widened involuntarily. Rows of numbers stretched across the monitor screen. I eagerly took as much as the maximum withdrawal limit that day. As per his orders, I bought two pieces of clothing for me and for him. And I bought a wheelchair from a medical equipment store. I knew she would take me away from under the bridge. Since both her legs were injured, I took the initiative to buy her a wheelchair.

After getting everything I needed. I immediately went home to see her again. Unknowingly, moments after exiting the ATM booth. There were several people dressed in black and white getting out of a black jeep and spreading out looking for something around me.

Jhon smiled at all the things I'd bought today. There was a proud look in his eyes, and I noticed it.
