Ch. 3The Yellow Eyes

“Ah...finally.”

A man was staring at the moon, which was shining brightly from the window. He wiped the corners of his lips that were still wet with fresh blood with his thumb. He turned around and looked at the old man, who was sitting tied to a wooden chair.

"I'm sorry, sir. I hate doing this, but I can't help it. I think sleep will be comfortable for you. Believe me, the second time won't hurt."

His pupils turned red as blood, and he stared deeply at the old man. He walked up to the old man while grinning at him. A pair of fangs appeared when his face was level with the old man.

"Hmmph..." The old man murmured incoherently because his mouth was covered with duct tape.

"Do you have anything to say one last time, sir?"

The young man's question was answered by a nod of the head by the old man. The duct tape in his mouth had come off, and he said, "Have mercy on this old man, son! I won't tell anyone about this!"

"It's a cliché, and unfortunately, I have no compassion. People with all their cunning wits. I hate it when humans pretend to be the weakest creatures when they are the most dangerous creatures on earth."

"I have a family, and you must have a family like me."

"You're right, sir! I used to have families but lost them after I killed them. Just like I will do to you now!"

"NO!"

He bit the old man's neck and stopped when there was no more movement from him. He pushed the old man until his body fell to the floor. He clucked lazily while rolling his eyes as if he were bored by this scene.

The man came up to the other side of the window and looked towards the house opposite. Boredom hit him, so he decided to get some fresh air outside. The man made a quick move towards the door and left the house.

Still, with his rapid movement, he found a large tree trunk along the entrance of the settlement and stared at the full moon once more. He circulated his gaze before bowing and then growling. His body trembled with the sound of broken bones. The clothes he was wearing had been torn into pieces.

His pupils, which were originally red, turned yellow. Now the whole body is overgrown with thick black fur. A few seconds later, the man was already standing on all four legs.

He ran away from the residential area to a nearby forest and sharpened his sense of smell. After reaching the outermost boundary of the forest, he stopped for a while. He sat with his hind legs on a large rock while gazing at the full moon. He howled loudly towards the moon.

Now the black wolf is walking slowly, increasing his vigilance. The wolf decided to stop on a bush with violet-coloured flowers. He was silent for a long time when staring at the small wild flower, and then stepped on it with one of his front feet.

After that, his sense of smell caught a very foreign scent. The scent has made him drunk, and he is looking for where the scent came from.

"Feromone..."

The voice in the wolf's mind confirmed it. He wanted to quickly find someone with a pheromone scent that was so hipnotizing his sense of smell. He walked down the forest's edge and found a girl walking alone on the forest boundary with a highway.

He observed her while enjoying the scent of the girl's body. The desire within his body forced him to immediately mark the girl. He came out of the bush that became the forest boundary to approach the girl.

Edith walked on the edge; she didn't want to look back because she didn't expect to be chased by Seth. At this moment, she hated that man so much and wanted to go away from him.

The road in front of him was quite dark; only the light from the full moon illuminated his steps. Edith reduced her pace. At this time, he only heard the sound of forest animals shaking each other like they were performing an orchestra.

Edith turned her gaze left and right. She was sure that Seth did not follow her. She realised that she was alone on the street. She recalled that this was an alternative detour to get to the Shepperton area.

Edith began to feel a chill on her skin. She didn't wear a jacket, just relying on her arms to give her body a warm feeling. She was still walking down the long road in front of her, even though the atmosphere around her began to tense.

Indeed, for some people, the self that is wrapped in emotions will reveal all the fears that are in front of their eyes. Edith felt that way at this time. She didn't care about the gripping sound that lay in the forest around her. She is struggling with her own mind, whether to believe Seth's words or stick to her stance.

Edith gave up; she didn't want to think about it anymore, so she just walked over blankly, staring at the street. At first glance, she seemed to hear a voice rustling leaves not far from her walking path.

“Who’s there? Seth, is that you?”

She looked in the direction of the source of the sound. She squinted into the darkness of the forest; she seemed to see a pair of yellow eyes burning from the direction of the sound source. Like returning Edith's gaze, it moved closer slowly. The yellow eyes got closer, followed by a hairy body with all four legs supporting it on the ground.

Edith widened her eyes; she inched back. She looked at the yellow eyes once more, and his body became more clearly visible when Edith's distance from the animal was only a few meters. Edith began to feel scared when the animal began to show its fangs. From his movements, the animal seemed to want to pounce on Edith. Edith also fell to the ground, her heart already beating fast.

The animal was already in the air, ready to pounce on Edith. Edith shouted loudly, hoping that someone or a vehicle would pass by to help her, but she didn't make the slightest sound.

She became weak, and her vision once again began to darken. She only heard a loud growling sound around him. Instantly, Edith couldn't hear anything anymore. She only said hoarsely, “What exactly was that?”
