Seth and Will stood in front of a house in the middle of the forest. He paid close attention to his surroundings and was wary of the slightest movement. His visit to one of the high witch houses in England could have traps and be dangerous.
Emma gives her a lead to visit one of her witch friends who lives in this forest. To get answers to all his worries about the dream.
"Be careful, Will. She's one of the black witches; don't act rashly."
"I have goosebumps, Seth."
"Don't be a coward either. Ah, it looks like she's noticed our visit."
Seth and Will stepped slowly as the vines on the tall fence in front of them moved down to the ground. A black light enveloped the lock attached to the fence, and it opened instantly.
Seth and Will stepped through the coral stone pathway that was covered in dried leaves. When they were in front of the stone steps, Seth felt a strong wind blowing through his body. He struggled to keep his four feet on the ground.
"It's been a long time since I've had a wolf as a guest. Is that you, Christian?"
A voice echoed in the room. Seth asserted his sense of sight to search for the figure that was speaking to him. He shifted into human form and took clothes from the bag he was carrying and wore them.
"I'm Seth, Christian's son."
Seth took a step back when he saw a woman suddenly appear in front of him. The woman looked at him with a curious gaze. She walked around Seth and stopped right in front of him.
"You look so much alike; for a moment, I thought Christian had come back to me. What made you come here?"
"Emma suggested I ask you something, Eva Quince, the High Witch of Yorkshire."
"Oh, my friend, Emma Henderson. How is she?"
"She's fine. Eva, can I start asking questions?"
"It's rude when a guest arrives and you don't host them. Come in, and you too, sexy grey."
Eva snapped her fingers, and instantly Seth saw a scene much different from the first time he came to this place.
Seth saw a two-story classic-style house painted in pastel yellow, surrounded by shrubs with flowers blooming on each end of the branches. Seth thought for the black witch she was; Eva did not look like a witch with a black aura at the moment.
Eva did all the movements without touching. She only needed to snap her fingers or wave her hand to create a cosy ambience while hosting her guests.
"Have a seat, Seth. You, Grey, sit next to me!"
Eva waved her palm, and the sofa shifted from the far side of the room to right next to her. Will simply obeyed Eva and sat down quietly afterwards. Eva didn't take her eyes off Will at all, which made the man nervous.
Eva snapped her fingers again to make the teapot and two cups appear from empty air. Seth could see a thin puff of smoke and the sweet aroma of coffee from the teapot in front of them. His eyes dropped when the pot and cups landed smoothly on the low-legged table.
"Okay. Now what did you want to ask me, Seth McKirby?"
"Can magic bring someone back from the dead?"
"Not my specialty, sorry. Only necromancers can do that. My magic only focuses on curses. Who do you want to bring back to life?"
Seth shared his vision of Edith. He explained the visual details that were in his dream. Right down to the part where he kills his own mate.
Eva listened to Seth's story about his dream with a brief nod and a sigh at the end. She recalled that she once knew someone who mastered necromancy. When her memory came to a single memory, Eva grinned faintly at Seth.
"Then you know who the witches with necromancy magic are, right?"
"I know one, but she always charges a high price. Besides, bringing a creature back from the dead always has consequences. Is your mate just a mortal?"
"I don't know for sure. She's half Veela."
"Ah...Veela. They are indeed very beautiful; their allure makes me envious. But unfortunately, they are only mortals without an immortal mate. They won't be able to activate their magic and won't have immortality if they don't assign an immortal mate. I don't know why you guys, Werewolf and Veela, have something in common about life partners. However, they can still die if their immortal mate also dies. They are bound by love as their destiny. But if you insist on meeting this necromancer, I ask for a change."
"What is it?"
"Your grey friend stays here for one night. I haven't felt the passion of a werewolf in a long time."
Seth looked at Will as if seeking his approval. He did not expect that the High Witch would ask such a thing. Seth could breathe a sigh of relief as Will nodded his head without any objections.
"Are we dealing?"
"Yes. Tell me who the necromancer is."
"Imogen Pearson. He lives in Venice. When you go there, take this with you; she'll help and remember my message."
"I see!"
Seth received a red-coloured gemstone. It was no bigger than the size of his thumb nail. From what Seth knew, witches used it to show their identity. Seth's gaze shifted to Will, whose body had been touched by Eva.
"Thank you, Will. I'll go first."
Will only nodded because, a few seconds later, he was already being pulled towards the stairs by the witch.
"Come on, Grey. We're going to have a lovely time tonight! Good luck and send Emma my regards!" said Eva over Will's shoulder.
Seth turned around as he shifted back into his wolf form. He had to find Imogen Pearson soon. His feelings were a little lighter now that there was a bright spot in the dream that was haunting him. He would do anything to keep Edith out of danger.
The banging of the door ended Seth's visit. He ran through the forest and had to get back as soon as possible to see Edith. He missed Edith deeply. By avoiding her lately, Seth felt pain all over his body.
Seth had not been able to make Edith love him, let alone claim Seth as an immortal mate. So he really hoped that Imogen could help him.
*
Edith was sitting on a chair in the main room of the Pack House. She was re-reading the journal entry she had written the other day. She read about the part where the creature was called Veela and their destiny. Edith read it carefully. Everything was exactly the same as her grandmother had told her.
Only one thing was new to her. Veela was not an immortal being, but her immortality would activate if she found an immortal mate.
Edith's gaze was distracted when the door to the main room opened, and she saw Seth enter the room. Seth walked up to her and pressed his lips against hers. Edith felt the heat from Seth's body. She knew that Seth felt a burning desire for her.
"Slow down, Seth. I'm not going anywhere."
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't help how I felt. I'm sorry if I've been too careless with you lately, but from now on, I promise you I won't do it again. I want to ask you for something. Will you marry me?"
