Courtney burst into tears like a child. She didn't care that everyone there looked at her with strange and disgusted looks. Courtney used to be the idol girl on campus. Not only that, she was also one of the richest girls there.
She was also a girl who was famous for being arrogant and cruel. She would cut off the men she was tired of dating. And again, the men who worship her are already at the level of the cult members. They will desperately do whatever the girl tells them to do.
But all those titles are shattered when Courtney begins to fall in love and become fascinated with Xavier. She pursues the eldest son of the Dmitry family like a man who has lost his sanity. However, it's not a man who likes a challenge. Instead, he uses Courtney's infatuation to win a bet with his friends.
So even though he basically doesn't love Courtney, Xavier is willing to date the girl.
However, in the end, he broke up with Courtney right on his birthday because he couldn't stand her possessiveness. At first, Xav didn't think she would go this crazy, pursuing him even after graduation. But here he is now, having to deal with Courtney's insanity.
As much as he wanted to be rude and throw her out of this house, Xav couldn't do that. He had already promised his father that he would treat the daughter of his father's best friend well, even if he did not love Courtney.
"Hans!" screeched Xav, calling out to one of his bodyguards who was now in the room. The man immediately ran towards Xav.
"Please take him to his room," he ordered.
"I'm not sleeping in the guest room!" screeched Courtney as she staggered towards Xav. He took a few steps back.
"Miss, let me take you-" Before Hans could say anything further, Courtney had already pushed him away.
"Get lost, Hans! Please don't hold me! I don't want to sleep in the guest room," she said in a tone typical of an alcoholic.
"Where are you going to sleep then, Courtney?" asked Xav angrily. His patience was about to run out, but he held back.
"Your room!" yelled Courtney as she laughed.
"Our bridal suite, Honey."
Xav looked at her sharply, momentarily looking down as if he was holding back embarrassment or perhaps disgust. Anya could sense the discomfort he was feeling.
"Fine, if that's what you want. You can sleep in my room. Hans, please take her to my room," he ordered in a low tone. It was obvious that he was tired of what was in front of him.
"I don't want Hans to take me, Xav. I want... you..." Courtney again stretched Xav's patience to the limit.
"Please, carry me in bridal style..."
"Fine!" That was the only word that came out of Xav's mouth. The man then carried the drunk girl to the top floor of the building.
All eyes watched them climb the stairs. The sound of Courtney's ranting and raving could still be heard downstairs. However, their shadows were no longer visible.
Hans looked at Anya, who was still rooted to the spot.
"Hi, Miss, I'm sorry. May I have a drink?" he asked.
The man was far from intimidating despite his profession as a bodyguard. He was handsome, his body was well-built, and his jawline was firm, but the calm look in his eyes softened all the harshness and fierceness.
Anya nodded and quickly got a glass of drink for Hans.
"You must be the new servant," Hans guessed, starting the conversation. Anya was reluctant to speak. She just nodded.
"Where are you from?" asked Hans.
"When you're done drinking, please return the glass to its place. I'm going to the kitchen to get something," Anya said as she walked away from Hans.
"Is there any food in the kitchen?" Hans asked.
"Plenty," Anya said. She wasn't interested in conversing with anyone directly related to Xavier.
"I'd like to eat some. Can you bring some for"
"You'd better ask Rimar. I don't know if you can eat it," Anya replied honestly.
The girl then continued her steps towards the kitchen. A moment before, she had turned her head towards the stairs. Her mind somehow drifted to Xav and the girl named Courtney.
It would only take less than ten minutes to get her to her room. However, Xav did not return even after the first fifteen minutes had passed.
"They must be making love," Anya muttered to herself.
Anya was even more convinced that her assessment of Xav wasn't wrong at all. He was an asshole who liked to play with women. He wouldn't hesitate to change women as often as he changed his socks.
A second after cursing Xav, Anya realized that it made no sense for her to think about what Xav and Courtney were doing in the room. It was none of her business. All she cared about was the cleanliness of the bathroom and toilet. Sadly, Anya would still be in the final semester of college if only the college fund that her mother had saved up had not been spent by her grandmother on gambling.
Her fate is indeed unfortunate. She seems to have become numb to all the suffering and trials of life. These sad things have come into her life too often.
Anya walked with unsteady steps. Actually, there was nothing she was doing in the kitchen. She just wanted to breathe for a moment because those rich people's children told her to take this and that without pause. It was as if she was a robot that had no sense of fatigue.
"I wonder, have they forgotten that God blessed them with two legs and two arms?!" muttered Anya, complaining, talking to herself. That's how she releases her frustration.
"Who did that to you?" said a voice that made Anya realize that she was not alone in the kitchen. Anya immediately turned her net, looking for the figure who made a voice that was quite familiar to her ears.
A man with eyes as blue as the sky was looking at her with a smile. Noah!
"Y-you..." Anya's voice trembled because she was so nervous. She had no idea that he would suddenly appear in the kitchen. Noah stood up and leaned his weight against the kitchen door. The door was directly connected to his palace.
"Why are you so surprised?" Noah walked over to Anya. But the girl was still transfixed, unable to believe what she was seeing.
"What is your name?" Noah brought his face closer to Anya's.
Anya stepped aback, "who are you?"
"I am Xavier's older brother..."
"Noah..." he smiled mysteriously.
