"Call young Master Xav, to come to me!" commanded Grand Mistress Roseanne to Shelina, who nodded obediently. She was the one who looked the most excited compared to the others. Of course, she was trying to get a rise out of the big lady, who might just elevate her to the position of head housemaid in place of Henry or Cassandra.
"Where's your friend?" Diana asked Paris. The servants were now neatly lined up as they awaited orders from their masters. This particular afternoon, all the servants from the two palaces were gathered in the garden. Because today there would be a luncheon banquet that would be attended by the two young lords and their future wives.
"Paris, are you deaf? I asked where that stupid and crazy girl was? I forgot her name-"
"You mean the toilet washer? Anya?" chided Angel with a mocking expression.
Paris remained silent and ignored the chatter of the two girls who were now flanking her.
Not long after, Shelina returned from her task of summoning young master Xavier. The girl's face was covered in shock, causing the other servants to wonder what had made Shelina's face look so red.
A few minutes later, Noah arrived with a beautiful woman. From her classic and expensive appearance, it was obvious that the girl came from a respected and classy family. The girl had been smiling since her arrival, but unfortunately, the man who stood in line with her looked gloomy. Several times it seemed that Selena Verazzy - Noah's girlfriend's name - was whispering to him. I don't know what she said, but after a while Noah wanted to give a forced smile.
Xerena Roseanne greeted her grandson and future wife with a big smile, hugging the girl affectionately. Talking for a while expressed Roseanne's longing for the girl who studied abroad. Selena is a violinist, but she is also a ballerina. A beautiful girl, whose life was as ideal as a princess in a fairy tale.
"Where's Xav, Dad?" asked Noah to a distressed Adolfo, whose father only replied with a shake of his head. It indicated that he was very annoyed at the name Noah had mentioned.
"Is there a problem?" asked Noah.
"Let's not talk about it here," Adolfo whispered, which Noah immediately understood. They soon sat down in the place that their grandmother had designated for them.
Fifteen minutes passed, but Xav didn't arrive. So Roseanne was forced to shout again and ask Angel and Bridget to call the young master. However, they had not yet left the garden. The person they were waiting for arrived. Beside him stood a girl who looked elegant despite her awkward appearance. The girl's hand clasped the man's arm intimately.
Instantly, all the eyes of the people in the park fell on them. There was an irrepressible squeal from Diana as she realized who was now with Xavier Dmitry.
"Anya! Isn't that the maid who cleaned the toilet?" The servants who had been insulting Anya fell silent at the same time. Paris, who already knew about it, could only laugh sarcastically as the sly girls were slapped with reality.
Xavier confidently faced his grandmother. He fearlessly sat next to Adolfo, his father who was still very angry with him.
Anya herself was trying to control herself, as she sat right in front of Noah. The man's blue eyes stared at her for a moment, a piercing gaze that somehow made Anya uncomfortable. It was as if Noah wanted to say something with that gaze.
"Because of all of you, my favorite grandchildren are here. Let us toast..." Roseanne raised her wine glass, followed by the rest of the family.
As lunch began, the waiters delivered appetizers, main courses, and desserts to each person at the table.
No one dared to raise their eyes to Anya except Paris, whom Anya already considered as her best friend. The waiters who had insulted her some time ago were probably embarrassed or angry to see Anya now occupying a position that many people coveted.
The lunch was over. As Rimar had said, the grandmother of Noah and Xav announced one important thing that was an absolute requirement for prospective heirs to pass to the next stage.
"I'm not going to play favorites, but just so you know, I'm doing this because I'm fed up with your father being so selfish and deciding not to marry after Issabel's death. This is a way for you to make up for my disappointment in your father. Your marriage will take place as soon as possible, together."
The two couples stared at each other with tense faces after hearing the grandmother's words.
But none of them dared to argue or question, because the grandmother had explained everything so clearly.
