Two hours later, they arrived at their destination—a lake surrounded by beautiful green hills. For a moment, Anya was amazed by the scenery displayed before her eyes.

"This place is like heaven," Anya murmured.

"If this place is heaven, then you and I are dead, Anya," Xav snapped; Anya startled. She did not argue about how long the man had been standing behind Anya.

"If this place was heaven, I'm sure you wouldn't be here, young sir. Heaven is not your place, and you don't deserve to be there," Anya said casually, without any guilt.

She was, actually, still upset about what had happened earlier. D'Viore's insults somehow felt like Xavier's.

Of course, a wealthy man like him doesn't know what it feels like to be insulted—the wealth he had made him respected by everyone, regardless of the young master's morality.

"We will stay here for two days," Xavier said in an arrogant and cold tone.

"Hurry up and get all my stuff down!" he ordered and walked away, leaving Anya stunned.

"Miss Smith, you'd better unload all the luggage quickly, young master. There's a lot of work waiting for you. You didn't come here for a vacation." The older man added.

Anya immediately moved and unloaded all the luggage. With great difficulty, she carried the bags to the wooden house by the lake, quite far from where the car was parked. Unfortunately, no one was there to help her. Even the driver looked asleep. They had just gotten there about ten minutes ago.

Before Anya finished one task, an older man named D'Viore approached her.

"After this, please prepare lunch for the young master," he said.

"Lunch?" Anya repeated the word with her forehead bent.

"Yes, it's almost two in the afternoon. Lunchtime is over," D'Viore said.

"Are there any groceries here?" asked Anya. She was unprepared for this task. After all, she wasn't much of a cook.

"Our kitchen is always stocked with high-quality ingredients. You won't even find them in a regular supermarket," emphasized the old man, who was now looking intensely at Anya.

"W-well, I'll put all these bags inside first, Mr. D'Viore -"

"You'd better hurry up, slow girl!" exclaimed D'Viore harshly, then left Anya, who was now cursing the man silently as she carried the bag to the place that D'Viore had indicated.

She headed to the second floor; there was an empty room without furniture. The spacious room, whose windows overlooked the lake, was breathtaking. The lake water sparkled as the sunlight fell on it. The hills that looked as green as a painting were visible from here.

For a moment, Anya was silent in the room, imagining it was her room. Indeed, she would feel at home here.

"What are you looking at?" said a voice behind her. Anya was startled. She turned around and found Xavier standing at the door, leaning some of his weight to one side. The girl had no idea that he had been there for some time.

"Hmm... the view is beautiful, that's all," she said, then quickly walked away, about to leave the room. However, Xav suddenly shifted his body so that he blocked the door.

"Please step aside, young master. I need to make your lunch right away," Anya said, looking down. She did not want to make eye contact with the man before her.

"Wait a minute!" said Xav while still staying where he was.

"I don't think you need to make me lunch. Tell my uncle I'm leaving now," he said and stepped aside. Anya could see the unusual glint in Xav's eyes.

"Leaving?" Anya asked something she shouldn't have asked. It was none of her business anyway.

"Just tell him that. I'm sure he knows what I mean," Xav added. Anya nodded. She immediately went downstairs and walked to the backyard, where she saw D'Viore enjoying his coffee.

Anya also told D'Viore Xav's message. At that moment, the older man left the backyard and immediately met Xav on the second floor.

Anya was still curious about what order the young master came to this place because no one wanted to tell her.

After a while, she saw D'Viore and Xav coming to the first floor together. The young man was carrying two bouquets containing a red rose and a lily.

"Come with us," Xav said without looking at Anya.

"M-me?"

"Yes! You, who else?" he said in a dreadful tone.

Without waiting for a signal, Anya immediately followed the steps of the two equally annoying men.

Just as Anya had walked a few steps, suddenly Xav shouted.

"Lock the door, please!" he yelled, making Anya flinch.

"Okay!" she replied curtly.

Then, she immediately locked the wooden door. Anya was very aggravated with Xav's way of ordering her around. She wanted to tell Xavier that she was not deaf.
