Ch. 2Chapter 1

I am Scarllet Brooklyn. I'm currently with Lucy, Alexis, Sophie, Parker, Miles, Acel, Kade, and our leader, Chaos. Our group is called the Royalties.

HM gave us a mission so here we are, walking in a dense forest. We're going to get a magical flower to complete the antidote ingredient. Some students got sick because of a poison. We haven't been able to identify who did it because they didn't leave any clues.

"Shhh..." We stopped when Chaos signaled us to be quiet, crossing his fingers over his lips.

I felt something strange and a strong presence. I'm sure they felt it too, and I couldn't tell if it was good or bad because it seemed mixed.

Chaos started walking again, but this time cautiously, so we followed while sensing our surroundings.

"Scar, that was so strong," Lucy whispered to me, her face filled with awe.

"Keep quiet there," I gently scolded her. She just smirked. Ugh, she's really asking for it.
We continued walking, but we stopped again when we felt presences, unlike earlier. I scanned the area but didn't see anything.

I gasped when someone immediately grabbed my wrist. I looked up and was surprised to see it was Miles. My heart raced as our bodies touched, his hands on my waist. I felt breathless. But I furrowed my brows when I realized he was looking behind me. I followed his gaze and my eyes widened at the arrow stuck in the tree.

Goodness, that was close. Thank goodness my love savior is here.

He let go of me and looked at me. "Be careful," he said softly, and I quickly nodded. Can I die?

We were alerted when arrows flew towards us. We quickly summoned our swords using our powers and deflected the arrows. We managed to neutralize them, and the surroundings fell silent.

"Archeries," Chaos exclaimed as twenty people emerged, all wearing mocking smiles. They're the ones who follow no rules and take no sides. They stood not far away, with smirks plastered on their faces.

"What are the princesses and princes doing in the dense forest? Did you get lost?" one of them sneered. Ugh. As if he's handsome.

"Yuck! Shut up! We're not lost, ugly!" I yelled back at him. It's like his nose crinkled in anger.
"What ugly? Hey, green princess, I'm not ugly!" He seemed irritated as he pointed a finger at me. The hell? He even called me a green princess.

We prepared as they charged towards us, arrows ready. But there were incoming arrows towards me so I quickly summoned vines and blocked them. Chaos intercepted the fire arrows and turned them into ashes.

We noticed that the rocks seemed to be moving, controlled by an opponent. It was thrown at us, so Sophie immediately teleported in front and created a large ice shield, protecting us. It disappeared immediately after, without any more attacking rocks.

There were sandstorms heading towards us, so Acel created a whirlwind and countered the attack, causing them to collide.

I noticed Alexis closing her eyes, and soon after, the two opponents screamed while holding their heads. Alexis is our mind manipulator, and I know she did it. The two fell to the ground unconscious.

The battle continued as they refused to give up even though they were struggling. We all stopped when we felt a strange presence, the same one I felt earlier.

We watched as the archers froze. They seemed paralyzed and soon after, they ran away with their unconscious comrades. Perhaps they were scared because of the strong presence, and I admit, even I was. I scanned the area again but still saw nothing.

"Let's continue," Chaos said softly, and we started walking again. The girls glanced at each other before following, and the boys did the same.

I didn't feel the presence anymore, so it must have gone away. If it had bad intentions towards us, it would have attacked us earlier, but it didn't, so we became complacent.
After hours of walking, we still haven't found any flowers. I'm starting to feel tired, and I know they are too.

"Guys, can we take a rest first? My feet are tired." Alexis frowned, and I could see the fatigue written on her face. We all agreed and looked at Chaos, waiting for his decision.

"Okay, let’s have a five-minute break." As usual, Chaos spoke without emotion, as cold as ice when facing us.

We looked for temporary seats. They took out their bottled water, but I had none left.

I stood up and approached Miles. Whatever, I'll just go for it. He looked at me, so I smiled broadly. "Miles, can I have some water, please?" I said softly, just enough for him to hear.

He smiled back. He smiled! I might die from excitement!

Damn it! You're going to die from being giddy! Despite my joy, there was still a part of me that contradicted to myself. Whatever, at least I'll die giddy.

Miles handed me his water, so I quickly took it and drank. That's almost like a direct kiss!

Once I regained my composure, I immediately handed it back. "Thank you," I said with a smile. He just nodded and then smiled while shaking his head. I went back to my seat.

"Guys, did you hear that?" I looked at Miles at his question.

"Hear what?" Parker asked back.

"Water, I know there’s a lake or stream here. I can feel it," he replied. I just nodded.

"Let’s go, we need to find it," Chaos said, so we girls just shrugged. The rest time isn't even over yet!

"Don't you dare sniff around like ducks," Kade said, and we all rolled our eyes at his comment and started walking to search.

"Alex, it's creepy here," I heard Sophie say to Alexis. Yeah, she's right. This place is really creepy.

We were alarmed when suddenly the surroundings changed, and our eyes widened in amazement.

"Wow, it's beautiful..." Lucy exclaimed in awe as she looked around.

A beautiful place. There were beautiful flowers and butterflies flying around. There were fairies too. The leaves of the trees were sparkling. There were colors pink, red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. But what caught our attention was the golden tree. So awesome!

"Illusion," Parker exclaimed. Maybe, it's just an illusion or what happened earlier.

"Look." We all looked in the direction Alexis pointed. My jaw dropped at what I saw. Alexis pointed to a spring with floating flowers. They came in various colors, but what stood out was the large rainbow-colored flower. It looked like a water lily, to be honest.

"We need to get that flower. Girls, take care of it," Chaos ordered. Sigh, why us? Tsk, no choice. He's the Leader. Maybe this is the magical flower because of its natural beauty and uniqueness.

We immediately went to the water, and I winced at the cold. We approached slowly to avoid disturbing the other floating flowers.

As we approached, we looked each other. We nodded, ready to pick it, but it suddenly moved away, making our eyes widen.

"Guys, it seems alive," Lucy said, shivering.

"Stupid, of course, it's alive, because it won't be alive if it's not," Sophie retorted sarcastically. Funny, it's so lively, huh? Lucy just shook her head.

"Let's go, we might not get it anymore," I said. They all nodded, and we started moving. But still, it didn't want to be left behind. So annoying!

"What's this? Leader, it doesn't want to be left behind!" Sophie exclaimed in frustration.

Chaos signaled for us to leave the water, so we reluctantly returned to them.
