They were rolling and rolling, and when Blaire lost her patience, she quickly turned the elephant's path into ice, causing it to slip and tumble. She was annoyed at her own foolishness, realizing that if she had done it earlier, they could have rested by now.
Breathless, she watched as the elephant lay there, struggling to stand but slipping every time.
She swallowed nervously as she felt warm breath on her thighs. Quickly, she lowered her gaze to see what it was.
Her eyes widened, and she gasped as she realized she was now sitting on the young man's face. She felt paralyzed by the position, unable to move due to the pounding of her heart. She didn't understand why everything felt so intense, as if she was about to lose her breath. Her eyes turned crimson with embarrassment.
She screamed in surprise, jerking as the young man bit her thigh. Luckily, she was wearing a thin sickling, but it provided a little protection. His face almost pressed against her femininity.
She snapped out of her reverie as she realized the young man's actions, so she quickly settled on his chest. In her view, she felt incapable of standing up, her knees weakened by the events and compounded by the exhaustion from their earlier endeavors.
She was brought back to reality when she felt a squeeze on her thighs and saw Chaos's hands. She looked at him in the face and noticed his mischievous smile.
"Smells good, huh?" he said teasingly. Even though she didn't understand what he meant, she still felt embarrassed and ashamed.
"You seem comfortable in your position," he continued, his mischievous grin still present as he spoke again.
She swallowed nervously and replied to the young man. "Uh... um... I-I'm... just... tired..." Blaire stammered, her voice trembling with embarrassment. She couldn't comprehend her feelings at the moment, nor could she understand why she was stuttering.
"Tss, I know you like it. Your eyes can't deny," he teased, making her quickly shake her head in denial.
"I just rested in our current position because... because of exhaustion," she tried to convince herself.
"I-I'm just... tired," she defended herself. The young man just grinned and slowly stood up. Blaire was alert, fearing she might fall.
She panicked when he effortlessly lifted her onto his shoulde, as if were merely a sack of rice. She swallowed nervously as she felt the coolness on her thighs and buttocks when her skirt was pulled up in her current position. She also felt Chaos's warm hand on her thighs. Her face was against his back, so she propped herself up with her elbows and placed her palms oh her jawline.
She looked at the elephant again, and it was still in the same condition, unable to stand.
She jerked upright when Chaos hit her butt and gently squeezed it as they walked. "W-what are you doing? Let me down!" she exclaimed in panic, struggling to break free.
"Tss, don't stop me. It was your fault," he accused Blaire, and she had no idea what he meant.
"What are you talking about, Four!" she raised her voice and slapped the back of the young man.
"Tss, don't be naughty," he scolded her, then hit her butt again, and his eyes returned to lilac.
"What's wrong!" she complained, feeling a sting in her butt. Out of frustration, she bit the young man's back.
"Ouch!" Chaos yelled. Blaire also screamed because he bit her thigh.
"Damn it!" she screamed in pain. She covered her mouth as the curse came out unexpectedly. She suddenly fell silent because she couldn't believe those words came out of her mouth. She was shocked.
"Are you silent now?" She snapped back to reality when the young man spoke.
"Did I just cuss?" she innocently asked. Her eyes widened as she realized she had spoken such a vulgar word.
"Hmmm... Now you are using English. And as for your question — yes, you did," Chaos teased.
"I didn't expect I did that! And... and I didn't know I could speak English," she couldn't believe what she had done, but she was still annoyed.
"Tss, stupid," the young man muttered. The surroundings fell silent again, and Blaire blinked as she was lowered by the young man.
"We'll spend the night here," Chaos said softly. Blaire just nodded and looked up at the sky. She didn't expect they would be caught by night within the game.
She held her stomach as it grumbled. She was hungry because they hadn't eaten since earlier.
She just shrugged and was about to sit down when Chaos spoke again. "We won't sleep here," he calmly said to Blaire. She looked at him, as if asking why.
Chaos looked up, prompting her to see what he was looking at. Her eyes sparkled as she beheld the tree adorned with various fruits. She didn't marvel at it, knowing that nothing was impossible in their realm.
She gasped as Chaos grabbed her waist and they soared upwards. She smirked as she realized she could fly too.
They landed on a large branch, and she immediately separated from him. She marveled at the breathtaking view from their current location, contrasting with the dense forest below.
She plucked an apple and ate it quickly, as did Chaos. She sat on the branch, leaning against the tree trunk. Chaos sat opposite her, leaning on a branch. They locked eyes, Blaire looking away first. Soon, they finished eating.
The surroundings fell silent, with only the crickets chirping. It was dark, with only the moonlight illuminating them.
Blaire was about to close her eyes when she saw a firefly approaching her. She felt a strange presence but saw nothing around them except the two of them, so she ignored it.
She extended her hand for the firefly to perch on. Their eyes widened as the firefly instantly turned into a human with crimson eyes and bit Blaire's neck.
Chaos quickly conjured a fireball out of panic, not considering Blaire might get caught in it. The vampire fled, frightened by the fire, and Chaos was sure he injured it.
That creature was called an Adze—a vampire that transformed into a firefly, biting people in their sleep and killing them.
Chaos rushed to Blaire, now gasping for breath against the tree. She looked pale and struggled to breathe.
"Hey, hey, Threes, hold on," Chaos said urgently, moving behind her. He leaned her against his chest, feeling for her pulse. Blaire's eyelids grew heavy from exhaustion and weakness. Eventually, darkness consumed her.
Chaos felt her stop breathing, so he shook her. "T-threes, wake up..." He trembled with fear, blaming himself for not protecting her.
He embraced her, tears streaming down his face. "Babe, please, wake up," he whispered softly to her.
He caressed Blaire's head. He blinked in surprise when she suddenly took a deep breath.
Blaire held onto Chaos, trying to regain the breath she lost earlier. The bite on her neck also healed. She felt someone embracing her from behind, so she turned to look.
Her eyes widened as she realized how close their faces were, just inches apart. She felt breathless again as their faces were so close.
She felt the warmth and the sweet scent of Chaos's breath. She blinked, feeling her cheeks flush and a sense of embarrassment.
They stared at each other, and she couldn't bring herself to look away, feeling paralyzed by his gaze. She gasped, returning to her senses when she saw the glow of her pulse in her peripheral vision. They both turned to it.
She raised her hand and looked at her pulse. She saw that one golden line had disappeared, leaving only three. If it runs out, she will be out of the game.
"Next time, you should be careful," Chaos advised her, to which she simply nodded.
"Go back to your place," she dismissed him, feeling awkward.
"No, I won't," he protested.
"Tss, just leave," she insisted. She was about to remove his arms from her body, but he tightened his grip. She felt confused because she felt comfortable, and she felt safe in his arms.
"Stop moving and sleep," Chaos said, his eyes gleaming. She couldn't do anything, so she let him. She rested her head on his chest, feeling sleepy, and her eyes turned purple again until darkness consumed her completely.
