The alarm chimed loudly,he stretched his hand and turned it off then he tossed to the side of the bed and slowly he stood up to a sitting position. He buried his head in his arms muttering words only audible to himself then he went to his wardrobe and grabbed a hoodie,threw it over the singlet he had on and the suit trousers he was still putting on and he exit the room.

Sarah opened her eyes surveying the room calmly,it was warm and cozy with an incense burning by the side. They had really thought about her to that extent,her hand went to her forehead to check her temperature she was getting better hopefully but then her head still ached.

The door creaked and Sarah quickly drew her lids shut,Lycan stepped gently into the room with his eyes he quietly surveys the setting before settling his gaze on her face. He sits quietly by her side still staring at her,the door opens and the doctor walked in,he looked surprised a knowing smile danced at the corners of his lips.

"Good morning Lycan"he touched her forehead and proceeded to take her temperature.

"How is she?"he had his eyes fixed on her face.

"Her fever has broken, hopefully she will be able to be on her feet in the next week but she needs adequate rest".

He drew in breath and exhaled,then he stood up and started pacing,the doctor gazed at him "I don't know…,but this days,I just feel tired".

"Did you take your drugs?".the doctor had a worried frown on his face.

"Am not sick,am sure of it"he stopped and stared into space.

"As a doctor,I might conclude that maybe your health is failing you but as a friend I would advice you take some time off and take a break".

"That's weird,I never thought of that"he walked back to the bed and sat down "I shouldn't have bought her".

"Why?,"

"I have these bad feeling, darkness looms with her presence".

The doctors brow creased "are you sure you are perfectly fine Mr Lycan?she has barely been around for two month or maybe perhaps you have forgotten she was held captive".

"I know"he rubbed his forehead and groaned "forget it doc,just look after her, maybe when she gets better I will decide her fate".

He stood up and walked to the door "Mr Lycan"the doctor called and he stopped with his hand on the knob "take my advice and give yourself some rest".

He nodded without looking back then he opened the door gently and exited the room,the doctor shook his head thoughtfully in all his years of practice and life on Earth with encounter with different humans on earth he had never come across these specie,he was a totally different one an embodiment of all the broken pieces of life,a survivor of life's struggle yet the doctor knew beneath those layer of thick skin,the hard and cold eyes lay a broken soul,who longed for nothing more than being loved and taken adequate care of.

Sarah having heard the soft bang of the door thought of opening her eyes since they were already hurting due to its constant closure,she opened them to be caught by the doctor,the man chuckled and Sarah blinked continuously in embarrassment.

"I knew you were awake,I saw your lids flutter a bit".

"Why didn't you sell me out?".

"There's no need for that because you would still have to open your eyes sooner or later like you have just done".

She sighed "am really tired,I feel faint".she Drew in her breath and made to close her eyes again.

The doctor laughed "what if I go out there and tell him you are alright?".

She opened her eyes in a flash "you won't do that".

"Yeah,I won't,only if you stop being a naughty lady".

She sulked pouting her lips"I just don't want to go on any other mission or make any delivery".

The door opened and Benjamin walked in "hope am not intruding".

"Absolutely not,I was about leaving"the doctor picked his sethescope "get some rest,I will ask the maid to come and attend to you".

She nodded "thank you doctor,I appreciate".

Benjamin sat beside her "thank God you are safe,I was so worried".

She chuckled softly"but you never came looking for me".

He shrugged his shoulder"I did,but you disappeared".

She laughed heartily"that's weird when I don't have some sort of magic".

"But you mesmerize me"his face was now serious.

Sarah withdrew into herself,she gently slipped her hand from his palms "really?"her voice was coated with surprise.

"I don't know if it's right", he scratched his head "but I love you".

"Don't say that"

"Will you reject me?"

"I don't know what to say"

"But I love you"he grabbed her hands again

"Am sorry Ben,but these is not right I think I love Lycan"she bit her lips but it was better that way if only it would turn his heart away from her.but unfortunately for her,the door opened and Lycan stood there staring from her face to that of Benjamin. Sarah closed her eyes "poops,a deep mess have gotten into"she thought.
