Chapter Six
Tina Pov
I licked my lips, looking at everyone, chuckling nervously when my eyes made contact with Ethan’s surprised ones.
I smile at him, giving him a pleading look, and he nodded in reply, as if telling me to clear the mess first. I then turn towards Ryan, raising my head up at him.
"What are you talking about?“ I said, stuttering a little bit.
He rolled his eyes at me before pulling my hand, dragging me out of the court, while I struggled to free myself from him, following him closely due to the force he was using.
“Let go of me, Ryan. Are you mad or something?“ I saw him glaring at me, but he only acted deaf, dragging me towards the cafeteria.
“Everyone get out.“ He ordered the waiter, while I stood there, rolling my eyes at his stupid, authoritative attitude.
But due to the fear of losing their jobs, they all scrambled away in fear almost immediately.
Ryan turned to look at me, or more like glare at me while I hated back. He was about to say something when Ethan burst in through the doors.
“Get out,“ Ryan barked at him.
“Are you okay, Tina?“ Ethan asked, completely ignoring Ryan.
“Yeah, I guess, but my arm is sure going to bruise with all these forces."“ I said clearly, so he could know he was hurting me. As I’d got my message, he immediately reduced the force around my arm.
“Hey, let her go.“ Ethan said he was coming towards Ryan.
Ryan glared at him, stepping forward to hit him, but I immediately stood in front of him, blocking him.
“Hey, don’t hurt him.“ I yelled.
Ryan turned his gaze back to him, glaring at me, before taking a deep breath.
“Caleb, come and take him out of here before I do something you won’t like.“ He said, talking to someone behind me, making me turn around to see some of the friends he walks around with and some cheerleaders inside the café.
“Hey, let go of me, Tina!!! “ Ethan yelled, trying to grab me, but the Caleb guy pulled him towards him, dragging him out of the room.
“Hey, let go of Ethan; he knows nothing about this.“ I yelled at him.
Ryan looked at me, clutching his jaws a little before raising his head back up.
“Everybody out now!! “ He barked again, making the cheerleaders and the rest run out of the cafeteria hall—well, except Rita, who stood there with tears in her eyes, glaring at me.
“Are you deaf? Did you not just hear what I said?“ Ryan barked at her.
“Why? “ She asked, making both of us confused as to what exactly she was asking.
“Why must it be her? I have been giving you attention all this time, Ryan, so why her?“ She screamed.
“Are you stupid? Get out of here before I make you regret it.“ Ryan said in a dark voice that sent shivers down both of our spines, but the only difference was that I was used to these while Rita seemed like life was sucking out her body.
Ryan released my arm, matching hers, grabbing her arms and roughly yanking her out of the hall before closing the door.
He turned around sharply, glaring at me again, while I just folded my arms across my chest, slightly rubbing the surface where he had pulled me.
“What the hell was that about, Tina?“ He yelled.
"I am still not going to date you again, Ryan.“ I said, rolling my eyes, looking down at my arm, and slowly rubbing it.
He scoffs, shaking his head slightly.
“Do you think I am giving you a choice here, Tina?“ He asked me, giving me his famous smirk.
“What do you mean?“ I asked, narrowing my eyes at him.
“You are in my school, Tina. I can do whatever I want, and no one is going to say a thing. Practically, you are in a town, star, and country that I own. So I will let you think about that.“ He answered, folding his arms and smirking.
I took a deep breath before releasing it. Honestly, before I came to stay with my aunt, the one thing I prayed for was never to cross this guy’s path while staying here, but I guess luck wasn’t on my side for this one.
“Look, Ryan I really don’t want any trouble or attention; can’t you just let me be?“ I asked him, giving him a little puppy-dog face.
I saw his expression soften a bit, but he quickly regained his composure and glared at me.
"I am not trouble, and the only person who wants trouble is you, Tina. First, you act like you don’t know me, then you have the audacity to befriend a guy and flirt with him in my presence. Do you want me to continue or have you gotten my point?“ He said he was looking at me.
“First, Ryan I wasn’t flirting with anybody; he is my friend for God's sake, and secondly, we broke up a long time ago, so what’s your problem?“ I asked, throwing my hands up in the air in frustration.
“We did not break up, Tina; you broke up with me; I never did.“ He shouted.
“Oh my God, Ryan 5 years later, and you are still saying, Just let go, oh my gosh, let go, Ryan.“ I yelled back, my frustration reaching its peak.
“Never!“ He said this, glaring at me.
“And if you really want to make Grandpa proud, as you said, then I suggest you actually pay more attention to me and not your book.“ He pointed a finger at me.
I let out a dark chuckle, not believing what I was hearing.
“Are you really threatening me, Ryan?“ I asked in disbelief.
“I don’t care; take it however you want it; all that matters is that I get what I want, and what I want is you.“ He said this before unlocking the door and storming out of the cafeteria.
I signed before sitting on the nearest chair beside me.
I can’t believe my quiet life was about to get chaotic again. I seriously thought he was letting go when he ignored me during my first week of school, but I guess he was cooking up something of his own.
“Tina, are you okay?“ Ethan asked, running into the cafeteria.
I looked up, seeing his face masked with worry for me, making me smile at the one genuine friend I finally have.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What about you?“ I was worried that those guys might have hurt him.
He shrugged, looking at me with a smile.
“I know you want the full gist.“ I told him, giving him a mocking smile.
“Oh, definitely, but I am willing to wait until you are ready to tell me.“ He replied, giving me a heartwarming smile.
“You bitch,“ we heard a scream from behind. We both turn to look at a heartbroken Rita glaring at me.
“I knew it was a bad idea for you to come stay with us. I told Mummy, but she said our hands were tied now. Look what it has caused me.“ She yelled all at once, forgetting the fact that she did not want the school to know we were both related.
“You live with her?“ Ethan turned and asked me.
“Yeah, unfortunately, she is the cousin I live with.“ I said, sending him a smile, before looking back at Rita.
“I did not even do anything.“ I said
She was about to attack me when Ryan's friend came in and pulled her out. I looked around me nervously before pulling Ethan's hand and walking out of the cafeteria with everyone’s eyes on me.
“Shit, your cousin is the school bitch!“ He exclaimed, looking at me.
“No offense, but how do you live with her?“ He asked again.
"Oh, not taken, and also, I survive.“ I said, laughing out loud.
“ Woah.” He said he was looking at me.
“And my ex is also the psychopathic popular rich not; can’t you see how much drama life is filled with?“ I said, giving out a pitiful smile.
"Is it alright if you don’t want to be friends with me anymore? I understand the drama is...“ I was saying, but Ethan cut me half way.
“Hey, hey, hey, calm down. Who said anything about not being friends again? Besides, I love drama. He said he was throwing his hands up in the air and doing a weird dance, making me chuckle.
"BBut seriously, I am confused and curious as to how you and Ryan know each other. I thought you didn’t stay here in New York, so how did your paths cross?“ He asked, looking at me.
I thought back to when I was still in grade school and the first time I saw Ryan during my summer break.
I blushed slightly, remembering how he complicated me after I fainted due to the heat.
“Awww, you are blushing.“ He said, looking at me with an awe expression.
“Yeah, well, I think we should go to our spot in the library if we really want to talk about this.“ I told him, smiling.
