Ch. 9Part 9

After the incident in the empty building, Hans increasingly thought about Natalie day by day. He even started sending romantic and affectionate messages to Natalie more frequently.

Meanwhile, his attitude towards Maria changed. Hans became cold, and sometimes he even forgot about Maria. This made Maria very upset. If Maria asked for an explanation about his behavior, Hans would easily get angry and call Maria annoying.

Maria didn't stay silent. She sent someone to spy on Hans at the office so she could keep track of his movements.

"Have lunch with me," Maria sent a short message to Hans.

Elsewhere, Hans ignored Maria's message because he was already at a restaurant having lunch with Natalie.

Hans smiled happily as he saw Natalie walking towards him. Natalie was wearing a black mini dress with a small handbag. Her style was simple yet elegant on her slim and beautiful figure.

"Have you been waiting long?" Natalie asked as she sat in front of Hans.

"No, I just arrived too. Let's order food!" Hans invited, handing the menu to Natalie.

Natalie smiled at Hans, taking the menu from his hand. Hans was truly infatuated with Natalie, and he felt so happy when she flashed him a sweet smile.

They ordered some dishes and enjoyed their lunch.

Meanwhile, Maria looked very agitated, waiting for Hans in her office.

"Where did Hans go? He didn't respond to my message, and now he's not in his office? Damn!" Maria grumbled in frustration.

Maria was sure that Hans went out with Natalie, but she didn't want to create a scene like the previous incident.

After lunchtime, Hans returned to his office with his secretary.

Hans was surprised to see Maria already sitting at her desk.

"Maria, why are you here?" Hans asked with a surprised expression.

"Why? Can't I visit my husband? Where have you been?" Maria asked suspiciously.

"I-I had lunch with a client today. Look, even my secretary came along," Hans replied a bit nervously.

"Fine, if you had lunch with a client, there's no need to be nervous like that," Maria said, trying to get Hans to confess.

"No, I'm not nervous. Just don't interrogate me like a suspect," Hans tried to divert the conversation. "Have you had lunch? Let's have ice cream together," he suggested, trying to distract Maria.

"Um, alright, let's go. The weather is quite hot anyway," Maria replied, melting with Hans's attention.

That day, Hans was grateful to have escaped his wife's anger. While driving, he thought about Jessie, who never interfered in his affairs. Jessie was always gentle and understanding, unlike Maria, who always meddled in his matters. Hans was starting to feel annoyed with Maria.

Days passed, and the relationship between Hans and Maria worsened. Maria often felt suspicious of Hans, and without hesitation, she confronted him about her suspicions.

But Hans, being clever, always managed to escape Maria's accusations.

One day, Maria felt restless in her office. She wanted to go back to Hans's office, but it was impossible. She kept thinking about how to always be with Hans.

"What should I do? I feel restless. I don't trust Hans; I understand his nature so well. Right now, he must be contacting that vile woman," Maria said angrily, picking up her phone and calling her husband.

Hans, who was in a meeting at the time, ignored Maria's call.

After an hour, Hans checked his phone and called Maria back.

"What's up?" Hans asked.

"What's up, you say? How dare you ignore my call? Where were you? Damn!" Maria scolded Hans without any preamble.

Hans massaged his forehead slowly; he was very disturbed by his possessive wife's behavior.

"Maria, get used to asking first where I am and what I'm doing! Don't scold me without reason! Now, I've called you, understand?" Hans tried to calm his wife.

"Maria? Did you just call me by my name? Oh, I see. Has your endearment moved on to that vile woman?" Maria asked angrily.

"Darling! No, listen to me! That's not what I meant... Hah, calm down. I was in a meeting, so, of course, I couldn't answer your call. Understand! Now, I've contacted you," Hans coaxed Maria, hoping she wouldn't get angry again.

"Don't you dare lie to me. Remember, with what happened to Jessie, you'll regret it if all of this is revealed. Be careful!" Maria threatened Hans, bringing up Hans's ex-wife.

"Maria, you! Ugh, enough!" Hans snapped and hung up the phone abruptly. Hans was angry with Maria, and he looked frightened as well; beads of cold sweat formed on his forehead.

"Hans! How dare you hang up so rudely! Just wait, if you dare play with me, we'll both rot in hell!" Maria looked extremely angry at that moment.

After the argument with Maria, Hans rarely contacted Natalie. This made Natalie anxious. She kept checking her phone, but there was no call or even a short message from Hans.

Natalie, who was already accustomed to Hans's attention, decided to contact him first through a text message.

"Sir, my boutique has launched. Would you like to visit?" that was the content of the short message Natalie sent.

Shortly after, Natalie's phone rang, showing Hans's message.

"Really? What's the address?" Hans replied to Natalie.

Natalie was surprised because they were the ones who found that location together. Natalie assumed that the message was sent by Maria.

"Do you forget, sir? Weren't you the one who accompanied me to find this building?" Natalie replied to Hans.

"Oh, is that so? Sorry, I forgot the address. How about you send it again?" Hans requested.

"Alright, the address is on Y Street, No. 30. Sir knows that the building is in the same direction as your office, so we can meet more often," Natalie replied again.

And indeed, the message from Natalie was answered by Maria, who was having dinner with Hans at the restaurant.

Natalie quickly sent the address to her phone and deleted all messages from Natalie.

Hans, who had just finished using the restroom, returned to his dining table.

"Darling, did someone contact you?" Hans asked as he sat back in his chair.

"Oh, no, your phone rang. I thought someone was contacting you, but it was just an alarm," Maria replied, smiling at Hans.

"Oh, okay," Hans replied, returning Maria's smile. At that moment, Maria didn't want to create a scene with her husband because she felt that he had returned to his old self.
