Darkness spread across the sky slowly and stars were scattered all over the sky. The almost full moon was up and the light-filled city was beautiful beneath it.

Maya sat in her office, sipping from her cup as she tapped away on her laptop. A sigh escaped her lips as she turned to look at the city.

"You there Bee?" Silver called and Maya hummed. "I don't think leaving without even talking to him is right."

"Is there anything you know, Silver?" Maya asked. "You're not the one in the human body, I am."

"I live just like you do." Silver hissed as Maya stood up and walked to the window, looking up.at the roof.

"Well, you know Silver. The truth is not only about me chasing after him. What if he doesn't like me or he has another woman who he wants and not me? I don't like being rejected Silver, and you know that." Maya sighed before walking to the built-in freezer and she pulled out a can of beer.

"Don't even think about it, Bee. You're driving home on your own and you'll be driving drunk? Do you have a death wish?" Silver scolded and Maya dropped the beer and took a bottle of water.

"Are you satisfied now?" Maya rolled her eyes as she sat on the table still looking outside. "I'm just fed up with everything, Silver."

"Yeah, I know. I am tired too." Silver sighed as she curled up inside.

"I need fresh air." Maya sighed.

"You're in a well-air-conditioned office Maya…"

Maya stepped into the elevator and the elevator stopped on the rooftop. She started taking off her clothes and in a few minutes, she shifted to her wolf form.

Silver growled slightly as the fresh breeze blew through her fur. "I need some time off."

Roland on the other hand walked out of the restaurant he just had dinner. "So where are we going now?" Onyx asked as Roland got into his car and drove off.

"We just go." Roland replied and the car soon slowed down not far from Maya's company. He was looking up at the large building and with his enhanced hearing, he caught the sound of Silver growling gently.

"Do you think we should have approached her earlier Roland?" Onyx asked.

"I don't think so Onyx." Roland got out of the car and leaned on the door with his hands in his pockets. "She isn't just any type of Alpha Onyx. She's a female alpha, the very first female alpha to exist. She's dominant, brutal and I don't think she would want any alpha by her unless she wants a beta."

Onyx rolled his eyes before keeping quiet looking at what Roland would do next.

Maya on the other hand walked out of her office checking through her bag. She wasn't the only one left in the office because some of the lights were still on. There were people who worked extra hours.

Maya walked towards her car and pulled the door open before driving out of the company. Roland saw her car drive out and he got into his car and he slowly followed her.

Maya could sense his presence despite the distance between them. "What is he doing here?" Maya asked Silver who seemed happy to sense him.

"I don't know. Maybe he's finally coming to confess to you that you're his mate." Silver replied feeling on top of the world.

"In the middle of the night? Seriously Silver? In the middle of the night?" Maya's car suddenly came to a halt when she saw a couple of wolf-like creatures, standing on two feet, standing a few meters away.

"We have a problem." Maya said as she pulled off her suit jacket. "And they are rogues. They have the guts to even show up before me?"

Maya pulled the door open and got out of the car with the headlight still on. The two rogues rushed towards her and her legs went up, crashing into the first one's jaw and her elbow to the other's.

Both rogues rushed towards her again and she suddenly shifted into her wolf form. Silver changed towards the rogues and in a few minutes, they were down.

By that time, backup had already arrived. "Maya, are you alright?" Phoebe rushed towards Maya who was laying on the floor with a robe on.

She had blood splashed all over her face but it wasn't her face. It was that of the rogues she just killed.

Roland who was watching from a corner was surprised she just took down those two rogues I'm a few minutes. They weren't ordinary rogues. They were the pure-blooded ones and there were only a few of them.

"Take them to the border and ask them to examine them." Maya stood up and walked towards her car.

"Are you sure you can still drive Maya? Luna is worried when the men inform her about you being attacked." Phoebe said.

"I told you not to tell Luna about the rogues tonight. I will be telling her about it myself." Maya growled and Phoebe took a step back. "I'm going to my apartment tonight. Do what I asked you to do…"

"Alpha Raymond would send bodyguards to come and guard your apartment." Phoebe said and what Maya did next wasn't expected.

"I am an Alpha, Phoebe. I am your alpha and no one protects me." Maya thundered in her Alpha voice making Phoebe bow her head.

"Pardon me Alpha. I will inform him immediately." Phoebe said and Maya got in her car before driving off.

Taking another route Roland drove after Maya but she didn't seem to notice again because she was angry. She suddenly drove into the car park of her apartment and got out of the car slamming the door.

"Why do you think she's angry?" Onyx asked Roland.

"I don't know why she is." Roland replied as he watched Maya walk towards the main entrance and she suddenly stopped, taking a deep breath.
