Ch. 31Chapter 31: Crazy Wolfs

"Depends," I replied, looking at the shimmering water in the distance. "It depends on which of us falls in love first."

The boy's face grew even more, shocked, "I said—"

"But that's not what I meant, Prince Malbonte," I said seriously but with a smile. "I will change his personality, not in the way of love that will break his heart that we know I will never reciprocate. But love as a true friend."

The boy just nodded when he understood what I was really getting at. We were enveloped in silence for a while because the song of the birds dominated my hearing which was really nice to listen to.

While still looking into the distance, Magnus slowly appeared in my imagination. His blank face, devoid of emotion that sometimes turns into seriousness and hostility. Whatever it was, there was only one expression I liked from him, that was his smile at me. The teeth aren't even out and it's a very cheap type to call it but I don't care as long as the important thing is that he made me happy in that very simple way.

"I met him with no color in life... I will leave him with a blue look to life."

In the afternoon.

"Are you serious here, Prince Malbonte?" I asked the boy shakily while staring at the title of the building we went to.

"Why are you so scared now? Well, you are the one who begged to go for Beta William. Now, we are here," he replied shaking his head.

Shocking.

I want to be ashamed of the boy I'm with now. It's like in his tone he's really pointing out that earlier I wanted to flirt with Beta William, but now it's like my tongue is upside down. This kid is really crazy. I'm not a flirt, I'm just really curious as to why this Beta William is always in an unclaimed wolf mental hospital, but yes, come on, let's flirt! Kidding.

Can't I just be a guest? Flirt right away?

I was behind him as if the child should be the one protecting an old man like me while still holding his shoulders which I think I was pinching because of fear. "Why is this hospital so strong for horror vibes?"

"Mia. That's why it's called mental hospital. That means there are crazy wolfs out there who can trip you up at any time." The boy scratched his senses, "Don't be afraid."

"Have you been inside yet?" I asked reassuringly.

He shook his head with a scripted smile, "Beta William hasn't sent me here yet. But I'm sure of what I'm saying."

I gave him a look, "Are there many crazy unclaimed wolves out there?"

"Yes! In fact, you can stay there for free."

"What—I'm serious about my question, huh!" I responded angrily to the child's rant.

"I'm also serious about what I answered."

"Go ahead... keep going, kid."

He just scratched the back of his neck and then faced the hospital again. "Beta William once told me that there are many unclaimed wolves living here. And the other unclaimed wolves that are there are really mentally deranged, it's just a sign that they really lost their lives in that place. I don't know the reason for their death."

"Is that so? It's better if we don't go any further," I replied simply.

Just as I was about to turn away from that place, I knew I couldn't go on anymore when Prince Malbonte grabbed my hem with a silly grin on his face. "We have to go to Beta William. Don't you have something important to say to him? Let's go!"

"Huh?" I stammered in reply. "What to say? Nothing! You're really young, you're hallucinating, aren't you? I didn't say anything like that."

"Gosh, Mia. I'm still being turned upside down. It's up to you. I'll tell Beta William, don't show to him for the rest of his life because you don't want to go to the place he frequents! I'm strong with him and I've never been rejected," he promised in a boastful tone that made me snort.

"Are you blackmailing, kid?" I just sighed because of that, I have no choice anymore. "Alright. Let's go. When someone really attacks me, you're the one who will protect me. Shocking."

We set foot inside that hospital. I snorted before finally getting in there. I looked around inside noticing that the surroundings were quiet and there were only a few people. The patients are probably in their respective rooms, I don't know about the unclaimed wolves.

"It's a big building, Prince Malbonte. Where can we find Beta William?" I asked the boy shakily.

"I don't know," he replied with a shrug that furrowed my brow.

"What don't you know? Don't tell me we're going to go around this place just to find him?"

"You're the one who wants that."

"I told you, let's not continue, kid."

"That's not allowed. You don't have a word," he replied.

"Not really. Especially if I'm going to such a crazy place."

"Just now, Mia, you're out of Beta William. You are so afraid, when only our kind will meet us!" He promised that his patience was really running out.

Because of what he said, I was suddenly in a posture, "What? Who is afraid? Maybe those people can taste me. You'll see," I said arrogantly, then went straight to walking.

Scary, huh? look at that—

"Son! Son!"

I lost the courage to walk when suddenly an unclaimed wolf appeared and was so excited that it seemed like it was planning to grab me for a hug! I even took a step back but I couldn't even run away when the old lady grabbed me in a very tight hug.

"Thank god and we meet again, son!" she still screams.

"Ah... ..." I just stuttered because of the lack of words.

I looked at Prince Malbonte who now had his gums sticking out because of the intensity of his laughter. Because of the immobility of my body, I just raised my fist to stop myself from laughing. The trip was so powerful!

"Son, how are you? I'm here," old lady added.

"Old lady, I'm sorry, huh? It looks like you're making a mistake," I said with difficulty.

"What are you, son? Are you sleep deprived, huh? And to say those things?"

I didn't even respond to what she said when a young woman pushed hard on the old lady causing her to fall over which made my eyes widen. I was about to help her stand up but I couldn't get close to her when the young woman presented me with the knife she was holding.

"All right. Try to help that old woman..." she let out a huge smile that eventually darkened her face, "...and I will kill you."
