I stopped and stared at her. I said, really, as my eyes sparkled on her.
Freya nodded. “And it was Magnus Haven, the Alpha of this pack.”
For the nth time, I stopped, and the smile on my face disappeared when I heard that from my twin sister.
My sister’s mate was an Alpha? And among the alphas, it was Magnus Haven—that kiddo? I repeated in mind before it sinks in.
But a series of howls from wolves echoed in the whole forest. That’s when I’ve felt the coldness on Freya’s hands.

I looked at her again but she preceded me in speaking, “I ran away so now, Magnus was chasing me with his comrades.” She held her forehead again. “And if he finds out that I got pregnant with somebody else . . . he will kill me.”
I was shocked at what I heard. I was about to respond to calm her down but I stopped when she suddenly looked at me, funny how her eyes went from my head down to my toe. But I couldn’t help but just swallow when a smile slowly appeared on her face.
“Mia.” She held both of my hands again and said, “Be my impostor.”
My eyes widened. “What?!” I said in disbelief.
Does she mean I am going to be her substitute?!

I swallowed hard and then removed my hands from hers. We both gasped when we heard the wolves howled again, but this time we knew they are near.

I shook my head firmly on Freya. “Let’s run before they could see—”
“No!” she said firmly.
Freya stepped on my left foot intentionally with full force, causing me to scream in pain. But it didn’t end there when she rammed her forehead into my nose.
I felt dizzy as the blood flowed from my nose. I held my nose and screamed out of pain, I was hurt badly!
“I am really sorry, my twin sister.” After Freya said that, I saw her remove the emerald necklace she was wearing from her neck.
I continued to writhe in pain. She took that chance to put the emerald necklace on my neck. With the speed of the event, I didn’t realize I was already wearing it!
“See you again, Mia Eveleigh,” Freya said. She took my luggage and passed me and ran quickly towards the woods.
Freya, wait! I shouted in my mind, but before it came out of my mouth, four wolves blocked my way.
They are white wolves; looking at me ferociously like they would eat me alive.
Because of that thought, my heart pounded with fear and nervousness. I immediately turned back. I thought of running away but I stopped when another group of wolves appeared in front of me.
I looked around. Now, I am trapped.
After a while I felt someone coming up behind me. He quickly pointed a dagger at my throat. I froze when I felt his mint warm breath on my neck.
“There’s nowhere to escape . . . baby,” he whispered in a hoarse voice.
Wait. Is he my twin sister’s mate? Is he the Alpha?

He grabbed my collar to bring my face closer to his. His gaze fell on my red lips, he touched it like he was owning a property, and said with a smirk, “Found you . . . Freya.”
