"Mummy you are here!" Chris exclaimed. John and Zain turned around.

"Good morning Miss Jane" John said.

"Good morning John" Jane replied, Zain stopped the video game and walked towards Jane.

"Hi Jane," he greeted.

"Good morning Zain," Jane replied.

"What a pleasant surprise to see you here this morning, this is very unusual. You hardly even come into our house talk more of my room, I guess the universe is really starting to align in my favour." Zain said sarcastically.

" I only just came to get Chris that's all" Jane defended.

"It's really okay, you can come here anytime you want. I've invited you over severally remembe" Zain asked with a hint of sadness evident in his voice.

He had really tried to get closer to her ever since he moved in with Juliet, he had really taken a liking to her ever since the first time her saw her.

He has been able to gather some information about her, she works as a waitress and she is a single mother. He has never seen Chris's father around and he knows best not to ask her ever again. Because the day he had tried to talk about it she got really angry and had avoided him since then.

He knows her age is same as his because he was here when she celebrated her twentieth birthday, apart from that he knows nothing more. And everytime he tries to get to her she always draws back, he doesn't know why but he feels there was much more behind it.

That's why he hadn't push her too much he felt she would finally come around, and it seems she is already doing just that, Zain thought to himself.

"Oh I'm so sorry about that" Jane said after thinking of what to say for a while, not knowing that Zain also had thoughts going on in his head. Jane's voice brought Zain back to reality.

"Oh no! It's okay," Zain finally said.

"So we will get going now" Jane said.

"Of course, and that reminds me what happened at work yesterday? We were really worried about you. You didn't even come home." Zain said looking all worried, and that made Jane's heart all flustered.

Was he really worrying about her? She thought in her head, nobody had really worried about her except Mrs Whitney and of course Cassie.

"It's really is nothing, just some jerk at work trying to molest me. But my friend Gloria was there in time to rescue me." she said. She's not the type to trust people easily after what happened.

She had become really reserved but, she feels Zain is a good guy and she didn't even know when she talked, what is wrong with me? she scolded herself.

Rage filled Zain upon hearing what she said, though he was stunned that she had told him he felt a bit warm inside. She has never spoken to him for than a minute but, still the anger and rage he was feeling couldn't be suppressed, how dare that man try to touch her?

"Was he crazy?" he finally asked trying not to sound as angry as he was, he couldn't help but be angry. And he's even more angry at himself because he wasn't there to look after her, he couldn't protect her.

"No, he seems perfectly fine to me." Jane replied, her reply jolted him back to reality.

"And he wasn't drunk?" Zain asked again.

"Not at all, he was in his right senses." Jane answered again.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you," Zain said with sadness evident in his tone which left Jane dumbfounded. she didn't know what to say, why is he apologizing to her? Not like she had employed him as a bodyguard or something, why is he being like this? ' Jane thought in her head.

"You should stop that job it's really dangerous." Zain spoke again with concern written all over his face.

"I know, and I really want to but, I can't because I dont have any other alternative. I have to work to earn money, I have a son and myself to take care of." Jane interjected

"What if I find you a job?" Zain said anticipating her reply, he just hoped he hadn't gone too far. He knows Jane is fragile and anything can trigger her mood. Upon hearing what Zain had said Jane face lit up like a thousand candles was put on.

"Really? you will do that? You can do that?" Jane looked up at Zain with joy beaming all over her face. Zain couldn't miss the ray of hope he just saw in her eyes, and of course that smile plastered all over her face.

It melted his heart, and very core that he was almost shaking. No one has ever made him feel this way but, he knows that Jane isn't an ordinary girl and she is really special. And he wouldn't let her slip thorough his fingers, he would do anything to have her, make her happy.

And have her smile like this all time, and it seems he had hit the right spot, the universe must really be aligning in his favour, Zain thought to himself.

"Yes I can help you, I work in the welfare department in my company I will definitely know if there was a vacant position and I can also ask around." Zain explained.

"But I don't have a degree, I didn't go to school, I can work in an office like you." Jane said looking downcast. Zain felt a pain in heart, he hates seeing her like this.

"I promise I will find you another job" Zain said out of impulse, he already opened his mouth. And didn't even know when he talked, he just wanted to help her and take all her pain and suffering away.

"Really? you will help me?" Jane asked almost breaking down in tears, she was really tired of her job. She is so tired of putting up with the madness in that club.
