ANTONETTE’S POV
"Stephen Sky Slayer vs. Lady Antonnette Kennieshin!" the guy on the floating platform announced.
My eyes widened when I heard my name and the name of my opponent.
"Hurry up and get to the center!" the guy urged impatiently. He couldn't wait. Tsk. The floating platform approached us.
"Oh no! Isn't she a transferee?" I heard a girl say not far away.
"Yes, she is! She's dead! She's even going against Prince Sky!" another girl chimed in.
"I'm sure she'll get lots of wounds from their fight," another one added.
I nervously boarded the floating platform. Sky got on too, and now he was behind me.
I didn't know him, but all I knew was that he was from the Himitsu section. And from what I heard during the introduction of our sections earlier, I might go crazy thinking why he's my opponent!
And more importantly, I wasn't surprised about this school anymore. My mom had been telling me that I'm not normal and my true self would come out if I ever transferred to a new school someday. And here I am! I’ve been transferred to this magical school!
"Don't worry, I won't make you bleed too much," Sky whispered in my ear as we landed in the middle of the arena. I almost choked on my own saliva when I heard that.
Waaaaaah! What’s wrong with me?! Duh? You're Antonette! Don't tell me you're getting scared now?
Tsk! No! I'm not scared! And I definitely won't lose to someone who looks like they've been poured with millions of glutathione! This Sky guy is so fair-skinned!
"I'll defeat you, you whitey," I muttered softly as I walked away from him. Better be careful, he might just grab me suddenly.
"Fight!" the guy shouted, so I prepared myself.
Sh*t! As in poop! How do I even manifest my power? Do I just close my eyes? And then what?! What's next? My gosh! I panicked in the middle of the fight!
"Oh? How will you defeat me if you're just standing there like an idiot?" I was surprised when someone spoke in front of me. What? Me, an idiot? How about I turn him into a sculpture made of ice?
"Trying to kiss me, huh?" I grinned, making him step back. Tsk! His face was so epic, it's tempting to take a picture and put it on the bulletin board. Pfft…
I closed my eyes for a moment and then opened them. I looked at my palm. "Good thing you came out, you damn block of ice!" I said happily to myself.
I hurled the spikey ice at Sky, unsure of how I did it, so I saw his surprised reaction. But even so, he quickly withdrew it and became alert.
The wind in front of me was so strong that it blew my hair. Ugh! I also saw how the poor ice I made flew away. It made a deafening noise, so I could see their grins momentarily in my peripheral view.
"You really are from the lower section. You're weak," he teased, so I gave him a nasty look.
"You don't know me yet," I said, covering my mouth immediately. Ugh. It's not like I was strong when I said those words, was I? Am I really strong, self?
"Okay, then let's finish this so I can get to know you," he sarcastically replied, with a smirk on his lips.
The wind blew fiercely, causing me to stumble. "Ouch!" I yelled as I fell on the ground and bumped my butt.
Huhuhu! It hurts, guys! Isn't being gentle a thing for this guy?
"What's that? You're such a boring opponent, so weak. Well, it suits you. Small power, small owner," he taunted with an added emphasis.
Oh, really? Ugh! This jerk, huh? He already hurt me, and now he's insulting me? Argh!
I stood up slowly and then looked in his direction. W-Wait? Is that a tornado I'm seeing?
I rubbed my eyes. Oh, man, holy cow! It is a tornado!
I stepped back out of fear. The guy on the floating platform was saying something, but I think I've gone deaf because of the wind here.
I looked at him. Tsk! He's just grinning. I felt like ripping his lips apart!
I glanced at my classmates, and I saw Kristina looking utterly shocked. Then I turned my attention to the left side of the arena to see the reactions of the other students, but my knees weakened at what I saw.
"Mom..." I whispered softly while still looking at her — my mom who just left me there. But in fairness, huh? I miss her.
I stared at him for a few seconds, but my eyes widened when someone covered his mouth. "Oh, no... Mom!" I screamed in panic and ran towards the exit, but I couldn't get out because of the damn barrier surrounding us now.
"Damn it! Let me out!" I shouted at the guy who put up the barrier and kicked it repeatedly.
"The tornado! It's getting close to him! Doesn't he want to die?!" I heard a girl say, so I looked back. It was indeed close, but I don't f*cking care! I just want to get out of this damn barrier!
I looked in the direction of my mom. If I was shocked earlier, now it doubled.
My mom, she was glowing! If you look directly at her, it's blinding, but if you look in another direction, it's not.
"Damn it! Let me out! My mom! Can't you see her?" I shouted again and kicked the barrier hard, but it seemed like they couldn't hear me. Ugh!
I looked at my mom again. She was slowly fading away. "Why won't you listen to me?! My mom! Aahh!" I screamed loudly, accompanied by a loud impact hitting my back.
I slowly grew weaker and lay down. "Mom!" I whispered softly, accompanied by the loud sound of something breaking.
"I’m sorry, I think I crossed the line. And as my token of apology, I will do this," I heard my opponent say. "And that’s not your mom. I used your memory to form an image using my wind to hypnotize you."
Then everything turned black...
