CHAPTER SIXTEEN

*Maria's Pov*

"Yeah you are right, but when it comes to Elvis' case um....",Rex began stuttering.

"There is something you wanna say. I bet you go on with that", Ipersuaded.

"Not really, that of Elvis has a mystery around it", Rex uttered amusingly.

"So, Elvis I beseech you to speak for your self against this attitude of yours", I said with curiosity.

Elvis wasn't even giving a listening ear to what Rex was saying about him, huh, I was surprised that Elvis wasn't even trying to defend himself or something like that.

"Come on, will you allow him to blackmailed you just like that? I beseech you never to let go", I said compelling, but childishly .

"I'm surprised that some people in life always like poking out their concerns in people's affairs without minding theirs", Elvis broke the silence.

"Elvis I don't really get you. What do you mean by that?", Rex chipped in.

"Of course am taking about this illicit attitude of yours", Elvis said.

"Bro, I guess you should be napping by now", Rex interrupted.

"I don't blame you. All I would go against is the spirit of greediness in you", Elvis countered Rex who was now adamant.

I was wondering why Rex wasn't saying anything again, he instead demanded for a bottle water immediately. I had to leave the scene to get him water to drink.

He quickly took a sip of the water and adjusted on his sitting position.

"Seems like Rex chipped is fully ready for the contest this time around", I said with expectancy.

Before I could notice, Rex has exhausted a bottle of water and was demanding for another.

I had to lie and tell him that there isn't water anymore.

"Rex, seems like you are done drinking the water. Here we go again", Elvis said.

"That's left for you. I don't bloody care about whatever you are going to say and tell your boss about me", Rex said energetically.

"You said that, my character of respecting people nowadays is a fallacy to you right?", Elvis said.

"Yeah I said it loud and clear", Rex replied with expectancy.

"Don't you remember, when you slapped the principal because he persuaded you to stay away from Anne your girlfriend in school?", Elvis verbalized.

It struck me like a bomb shell as soon as I heard Elvis narrating this particular action.

"Rex is that true? Just stand to my face and tell me Elvis is lying", I enthused.

Rex at first took in a deep breath and exhaled the carbon iv oxide.

"Ma'am, I can't deny the fact that what he is saying is not true, it's as true as the gospel", Rex said in a sad countenance.

"I doubted the fact that you did such thing. How would you even at first slapped your principal?", I asked him with amount of seriousness in me .

"Well, nothing serious than what Elvis had just said. Besides, what really made me slap him was that, my principal lusted after my girlfriend. He has been trying to persuade her to have sex with him, but Anne will always turn him down. So after several attempts of his amorous antics, but to no avail, he called me one day to his office and strictly warned me to stay away from Anne. I angrily slapped him and walked out of his office. The next day I was expelled from school. My parents asked what prompted my expelling, but I never said anything about it to them",Rex narrated his ordeal.

"It such a tragic story, but you wouldn't have slapped him. God has a better punishment for him", I said in regards to what he said.

"Yeah I know what I did was not right, but I couldn't control my anger", Rex enunciated.

"Sorry about that Rex. So, how about your girlfriend? Are you both still in a relationship or you broke up?", I asked.

"Not really, after I left my school to further my secondary education elsewhere, I lost her contact and even her social media handle", Rex said.

"Sorry about that Rex. Don't worry you will definitely find her some day", I muttered in consolation.

I couldn't believe that Elvis was gonna release such volcano. He defeated Rex wholeheartedly.

At this point, I learnt that speechless is silver while silence is gold.

"Rex, it's now your turn to go against Elvis. What did you have against him?", I asked, smiling sheepishly.

"I have a lot to say about him and even his teenage days", Rex responded.

"If so, then fire on", I persuaded.

"Elvis it's up to you. Do you remember when you stole your mother's money just to buy pizza for your girlfriend as at that time on her birthday?", Rex asked.

I couldn't stop laughing at this particular one from Rex about Elvis.

Even Elvis the central character was laughing this time around.

*Desmond's Pov*

I was coming down stairs to watch a movie on Netflix when my phone rang.

It was Dr Mike, I quickly picked up and put the call on loud speaker so my wife would also hear him.

"Good afternoon sir", Dr Mike saluted.

"Thank you very much doctor. How are you doing today?", I asked .

"Very well sir, I wanna let you know that Elvis has recovered from coma. He is now conscious", Dr Mike said.

"Wow! I'm so elated about this. Thank you very much doctor", I appreciated .

"Okay sir, that is all for now", Dr Mike said.

"No problem, I will send you his medical bills right away", I said hanging up the conversation.

I was very excited about my son's health recovery. It made me feel so happy. He is my only hope of tomorrow and my next of kin.

My prayers for him were to accomplish all his plans and quickly come back home to manage the family's estate and wealth.
