The next morning after their breakfast, Ruby and Diamond made their way to the balcony. They had been apart for years but they sure knew how to be clingy around one another.
They stood on the balcony, enjoying the fresh breeze. They watched the whole mansion from the top like it was a reality show being played right in front of their eyes.
"Hey, Ruby don't you think that this would be a very good time to, you know, share our life experiences as in all that has happened within the last five years? At least if not all the most important is okay". Diamond said hoping that Ruby would equally buy the idea.
Their father separated them and made them start an entirely different life with new identities. He sent them off to some of his friends outside the country who took care of the girls until they began to live on their own.
Diamond did not go too far, she spent her last five years in the United States of America. While Ruby headed to Poland which is located in Central Europe.
Ruby began by telling Diamond about her experiences living in Poland. She talked about the rich culture and history, the vibrant cities, and the delicious food. She told Diamond about the new friends she had made and the adventures they had gone on together, from hiking in the mountains to exploring the local markets.
Diamond listened intently, fascinated by her sister's stories. When Ruby finished speaking, Diamond began to share her own stories. She talked about the bustling cities of America, the fascinating cultures and traditions, and the incredible foods. She told Ruby about the new friends she had made and the challenges she had faced living in a foreign country.
As they talked, Ruby and Diamond realized that they had both grown and changed so much since they had left home. They had experienced new cultures and perspectives and had developed a greater appreciation for the world around them.
But even as they talked about their adventures abroad, they couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for their hometown. They missed the familiar streets and faces, the small-town charm, and the warmth and comfort of their family home.
"Sister, promise not to tease me this time when I say what I want to," Diamond said hoping that Ruby the teaser as her father would always say, would not tease her over her confession.
Ruby gave a devilish grin, "I promise not to tease you". She holds her throat to show her seriousness.
"Okay fine. I have a crush back in the United States". Diamond said.
Ruby couldn't help but smile really hard, her twin had found love which was a good thing. So she couldn't help but celebrate with her.
"Tell me more about this lucky guy," she said.
Diamond blushed as she started to talk about her crush. She told Ruby about a guy named Tyler, who she had met in college. He was kind, funny, and always made her feel special. Diamond talked about how they had become friends first, but over time, she had started to develop feelings for him.
Ruby listened attentively, happy to see her sister so happy. She asked questions about Tyler, wanting to know everything about him. Diamond told her about his love for music, and how he played guitar in a band and performed at local gigs. She talked about the concerts they had gone to together, and how she loved watching him play.
As they talked, Ruby noticed that Diamond's eyes had a faraway look, as if she was lost in her thoughts. "What are you thinking about?" Ruby asked.
"I don't know," Diamond replied, "I just feel like Tyler is the one for me. Like we have a connection that is beyond friendship."
Ruby smiled, knowing exactly what her sister meant. "I'm happy for you, Diamond. I hope Tyler feels the same way about you."
Diamond shrugged, "I don't know. He's never given me any indication that he likes me that way. Sometimes, I think I'm just imagining things."
Ruby placed a hand on her sister's shoulder, "You never know until you try. Maybe you should tell him how you feel and see what happens."
Diamond nodded, "You're right. I think I will tell him".
As they continued to talk, Ruby and Diamond realized how much they had missed each other over the years. Even though they had been apart for so long, their bond as sisters had never faded. They shared everything with each other, the good and the bad, and always offered support and encouragement.
They kept moving to and fro on the balcony as they talked about their plans for the future and how they would take over from where their father had stopped.
Suddenly, Diamond's phone rang. She picked it up and saw that it was Tyler calling. Her heart skipped a beat as she answered the call.
"Hey, Tyler," she said nervously.
"Hey, Diamond," he replied. "Listen, I was wondering if you wanted to come to our gig tonight. We're playing at a local club and I thought it would be cool if you came."
Diamond's heart almost fell off. She totally forgot to tell her crush that she was no longer in town. As Tyler continued, he noticed the sudden silence on the other end.
"Diamond!" He called out her name which made her snap out of her thoughts.
Diamond took a deep breath and tried to steady her nerves. "Tyler, I would love to come, but I'm actually not in the United States right now," she said, hoping he wouldn't be too disappointed.
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and Diamond felt her heart sink. "Oh, I see," Tyler said finally. "Well, that's too bad. I was hoping to see you again."
Diamond felt a pang of regret. She had missed her chance to tell Tyler how she felt about him. "I'm sorry, Tyler. I should have told you before I left."
"It's okay," Tyler said, his voice sounding a little sad. "Maybe we can catch up when you come back?"
Diamond felt a flicker of hope. "Yeah, that would be great. I miss hanging out with you."
"Me too," Tyler said, his voice brightening up. "Well, take care of yourself, Diamond. Talk to you soon."
"Bye, Tyler," Diamond said, feeling a little deflated as she hung up the phone.
Ruby could see the disappointment on her sister's face. "What's wrong?" she asked.
Diamond sighed. "I missed my chance to tell Tyler how I feel about him," she said. "Now he probably thinks I'm not interested."
Ruby put an arm around her sister's shoulder. "Don't worry, Diamond. You'll have another chance. And who knows, maybe he feels the same way about you."
Diamond smiled weakly. "I hope so. I just don't want to mess things up."
"You won't," Ruby said reassuringly. "Just be honest with him and see where it goes."
Diamond nodded, feeling a little better. "Thanks, Ruby. You always know what to say."
They stood in silence for a moment, watching the sun start to set over the horizon. For the first time in a long time, Diamond felt hopeful about the future. She knew that no matter what happened, she had her sister by her side, and together they could conquer anything that came their way.
