My birthmark suddenly hurt again.
Oh, come on, not today!
Mune held his shoulder too.
"These days, this shoulder is not getting on the same track as I do. It always hurt for no reason!" Mune said.
"There's a reason, Mune. But I'm not ready to find out what it is," I said.
Dylan and Hiro are back. Both of them are bathed in sweat! Oh god, they really look like a kid.
"You really work out together, like a relationship of a son and a father," Mune said.
I saw Yna coming in our direction too.
Maybe, she senses that we're done talking.
"Stop it!" both of them replied.
"Let's split from here, Mune," I said.
"Be careful, huh?"
"Yna, you're a grown lady now. But don't hesitate to come to Kuya whenever you feel sad, okay?" Hiro said.
"Who's leaving?" Nathan asked.
Oh no, I almost forgot about him.
"Are you here from the beginning of our conversation?" I asked.
"No, I just woke up from being asleep. What happened?" Nathan asked.
"Don't ask, Nathan. We have to go now," Dylan said.
He wanted to ask so many questions, but he couldn't find a perfect word to ask a question, so he just stayed quiet, just like what they always wanted.
Mune and I hugged each other.
"Till we see each other again, bro. We have a rough road ahead. So please, call me telepathically if something gets in your way," I said.
He pats my head and hits it.
I struck his head too.
"Think about yourself, sis. You have a lot to know, so train your heart to take it. Your memories' value is so high, keep it," he said.
That made me nervous.
I just nodded as a response.
"For now, let's go to our respective places. We'll meet here again tomorrow for the fox nation. We have to look after them," I said.
Mune nodded and smiled.
After that, Mune and Yna left. So now, there are only four of us. Jeez, do I always have to endure this fate of mine?
I teleported with them to the underground mini-house.
"Go inside. There are a lot of vacant rooms there. You will love it."
Nathan ran inside without even waiting for me to finish my sentence.
But Dylan and Hiro are still in front of me, waiting for me to talk.
I scratched my head.
"What? Are you gonna stare at me forever?" I asked.
"I want to make sure you're safe, Aya. You just got out from being confined," Hiro said.
Here he goes again, calling me Aya like we're close.
"Why don't you go inside too and take a peaceful rest? I'm sure your body is longing for it," Dylan said.
"I'm a nine-tailed fox. I don't feel such a thing. So go and rest. Think about yourself. I won't do anything that will make you worried."
Still, they didn't listen to me.
However, it didn't stop me from casting them away. I have to get mad for them to obey me.
"Finally, I can rest for real."
Since the day Hiro came into my life, I have always felt perplexed by everything. I've never had a real rest here.
"Why don't you try to ask Hiro how did you meet?"
"Oh god, you again?! How did you follow me here?!" I asked.
It was the missing soul living in my mansion.
"It's too loud in the mansion now. Sleeping feels like the hardest thing to do. So yeah, I followed your scent. But anyway, going back to"
"Excuse me, did I allow you to talk?" I asked.
"Do you have to? We live in a free country, and you're forbidding me to speak?! What are you, a dictator?!" he asked.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
"Never mind, just do whatever you want."
"Do you really want to know what happened in your past?" he asked.
"Why are you so concerned about my past when you could've just dug your own?"
"Well, I gave up a year ago. But for you, I think you badly need to know it."
"Forget it. If it's meant to find out, it will come out. Just let me have my peace."
"Okay fine, as you wish. Maybe this could be the last peaceful night you will have if you still refuse to know the truth."
What is he talking about this time?
"...the truth will set you free, Amaya."
After he said that, he suddenly vanished.
"Come on! Are you fond of leaving someone behind after giving such strange statements?!" I asked.
My birthmark hurt again.
Why does it often hurt these days?
