"Gerald," Jane's jaw dropped. "Hello Jane," Gerald's lips curled into a broad smile as he stroked his chin. "Yes, the young man came to visit, he already introduced himself to us," Rosemary said. "He told us of how you had rejected his advances in the past," Bernard stiffened.
"That was because I told him I wasn't ready then," Jane huffed. "Wait a minute do you want to remain single all your life just because of what John your brother's namesake did to you," Rosemary's eyes rolled in a low level of rage.
"No Mom, I already have someone I love and am seeing," Jane stiffened. "So after you rejected him then when you were finally ready you didn't even consider his proposal but you accepted that of another, how fair is that?" Bernard blurted out angrily.
"Take it, easy sir," Gerald implored. "Rose, do you love him?" Gerald enquired. "Yes I do," Jane retorted. "Please can you give us some moments," Gerald faced Jane's parents and signalled to Jane that they should both go to discuss at the porch of the mansion.
"Am sorry, I just wasn't into you then when I wasn't ready, and then when I was love finally hit me in the face," Jane's eyes glittered with sadistic emotions. "Well, it's okay. In life, you will always have ups and downs. And even though have waited for a few years for your feedback and am ready to move on with my life even if it's a big no," Emotions churned up in Gerald's chest.
Gerald knew he was hurt badly as he had patiently waited for her even though she rejected him thinking maybe for one single moment she might consider him when she was finally ready.
Jane knew she had hurt him badly even though she knew it wasn't her intention. Then, guys became a pest to her and Gerald came at the wrong time. "Do you think that if I came at the right instead of at the wrong time I might have gotten a shot to win you," Gerald enquired jokingly.
"Well, who knows, maybe," Jane managed to have a perfect smile. "So this new guy, hope he is good to you, because if he is not just let me know so that I can give him a spanking," Gerald said almost finishing with a bout of laughter provoking Jane to laugh. "No problem," a smile graced her lips. "I hope we remain friends and do not allow this to end our relationship," A state of anxiety about their friendship rippled in her heart.
"Of course not. Don't ever think for a second that I would end my friendship with you at all," Gerald's eyes flung wide open to express his seriousness. "Thanks a lot," Jane gulped audibly with a rough exhale.
Jane and Gerald waggled back into the lounge room. "So what is the conclusion," Bernard's lips curled up in curiosity. "Well, it seems Jane has finally met the love of her life and it's a good thing given that she had suffered in her last from relationship issues," Gerald announced, as he let out a low puff.
Bernard and Rosemary felt for Gerald after he finally left that day. "How could you do that to such a good man who shows great care for you," Bernard seethed through clenched teeth.
"Come on Dad, didn't you hear what he said, he understands so why can't you Dad? I have suffered too in a relationship and now that am finally happy, why would you want to ruin it by making me feel guilty?" The fringe of her eyelashes cast shadows on her cheek. "No one is making you feel guilty, we are just suggesting that you should have at least considered him," Rosemary assured.
"Well, it's alright, I feel for him because I understand how he feels," Jane gritted her teeth. "I just hope this man is worth it when I see him," Bernard's jaw was clenched. "Trust me Dad, you would be blown off your feet when you finally meet Clark," Jane said.
"So is that his name?" Rosemary enquired curiously. "Yes Mom," Jane said. "Alright then good, then the reason why we have called you seems to be useless," Bernard wanted to brawl his eyes out. "It's not like that Dad," Jane implored. "But I will be returning to San Jose tomorrow, so I need to spend time with you both," Jane mused...
Jacob and Samantha were led into William's mansion and sat on one of the couches in the lounge room. "Am so glad you are here," Reymond said heartily. "Same here friend, I hope you are benefitting from the partnership," Jacob enquired. "Of course, I mean just look at us we aren't just going to be friends and business partners but we would be in-laws!" Reymond said gleefully.
"Yes, so where is he," Jacob's lips twitched upwards in curiosity. "Am here," Clark announced as he overheard them when he climbed down the stairs of his master bedroom. "Okay good to know so let's make this formal," Reymond stroked his chin.
"Sir Jacob, why would you want to accept a situation whereby a young adult like me would be forced against his will for a contracted marriage," Clark's face stiffened. "Clark!" Reymond yipped abrasively almost bobbing his eyes shut. "I mean, you can't tell me that you don't know that am not pleased with that marriage. Would it make you happy that your daughter is married to someone who isn't happy to get married to her?" Clark said ignoring Reymond.
"Clark!" Theresa barked succinctly. "No Mom, am fed up I think it's time everyone knows my kid on this," Clark said feeling a wave of fury rising within him. "Wait a minute Reymond, I thought you said your son wanted this?" Jacob massaged his temples bewildered. "Of course he does, he is just not in his right senses," Reymond seethed through clenched teeth at Clark's rebellious acts.
"Don't take me for a fool friend since you know me well. It's very obvious what happened and that you wanted to use your son for business purposes," Jacob stiffened as he rose with Samantha. "Am sorry," Reymond clenched his fists as his stomach flipped. "You don't need to be sorry, if you wanted a business deal you always got one with me because we are still friends no need to try and do a contract marriage between your son and my daughter," Jacob said as he exited their house.
Clark felt serious respect for Jacob immediately after he witnessed what just happened. "Finally an adult sharing his same mentality," He thought to himself.
"Did you see what you did? You are lucky it didn't cost me my business deal with him," Reymond said facing Clark as he went after Jacob.
