Ch. 2In to the woods

Rebecca adjusted her sneakers as she walked out to her bedroom door, then reached into her pocket for her phone. "If I can't find signal here, I guess I'll have to make it my mission to find it," she mumbled as she ran downstairs and past the kitchen, where everyone was seated around the table with a cup of tea.

"Hey Grandma, is it okay to go for a walk in the forest?" she asked as she stood in the kitchen doorway.

"Sure, honey, but you must go by 6:00 p.m.," her grandmother replied as she smiled at her before returning to her conversations with her parents while Antoinette is busy eating her macaroni salad.

Rebecca swiftly snuck out the front door and made her way over to the forest, holding her phone so that when she did achieve her aim of locating a signal, she could call her friends.

She followed the lane that led into her grandmother's house and back to her way as she immediately changed her direction in the hopes of finding some signal after about 30 minutes with no luck as she was about to give up before he became exhausted. She then noticed a small lake. "Well maybe if I keep going for another little while, I'll find a better signal before it gets dark," she murmured as she walked along the lake's edge. Her phone lit up, and to her surprise, more bars appeared in the corner of her phone. "Who knows that walking on the side of the lake is a technique?" she whispered as she smiled while staring at her phone.

"I think I need to find a place to sit and give myself a rest before I spend some time taking advantage of the signal," she mumbled as she rapidly moved on, knowing she could spend at least another half hour on her phone before she needed to return.

She was about to sit down in the rock when she heard a twig break just ahead of her, so she got up and took a step backward, "Hello?? who's there??" she sighed, trying to calm herself, but no one answered. "It was probably just a wind," she mumbled to herself, trying to convince herself.

Rebecca's head turned to the side when she heard the twig's noise again, although this time it was much louder and far closer to her.

"Sh*t, I shouldn't have come out here alone," she said, as she jumped when she heard the noise again, only to be met by a low, deep growl that terrified her.

Her eyes widened in fear as she saw something black rush through the trees as she prepared to run when she fell, causing her head to crash with a heavy thump on the ground. Her head hit a large rock. Before everything went black.

Her nose was flooded with a powerful sweet aroma, as well as a masculine and woodsy scent.

"My beautiful mate," a barely audible voice snarled out, making her pulse beat ten times quicker, but the odds against her brought fear that she couldn't describe. Something is appealing and frightening about this voice. She wants to open her eyes but can't since she's wondering about who he is, generating shivers in her heart.

"It's not the right time for her to be with you, alpha; we need to wait for her to be ready," a weak robotic voice whispered, making her head thump even louder.

"We need to get out of here before she wakes up," a deep voice hissed, however this time the voice was getting louder and louder to her head, it was the deep voice from earlier.

"I need to leave now my mate, remember that you are mine," he whispered as he kissed her lips gently that gives goosebumps to her inner.

Rebecca felt her eyes flutter open, and she was welcomed with a gray-colored ceiling above her before shifting her gaze to her surroundings; her eyelids were heavy, but she could still recognize a few items in the room, such as her small wardrobe.

"How did I get home?" she wondered as she notice a moist towel to her forehead when she tried to stand up.

"Oh my gosh, you're awake!" Antoinette cried as she entered her room and dashed downstairs to call Rebecca's father and mother.

She heard more footsteps upstairs, and they walked into her room.

"Thank God, you're finally awake, my darling," her mother murmured as he rushed over to her and hugged her tightly, as her mind build confusion thinking what happened as they are acting so weird.

"Wait, guys, why are you all acting so strange? What happened? "She asked as they glanced at her with worrisome expressions on their faces.

"I'm sorry Becca, we know that we're just overreacting to you, but Becca, Antoinette found you lying unconscious in the forests, and we are so worried about you, especially that you have been in a coma for three days while having a high fever," Rebecca's father explained to her.

"What !? I was unconscious for three days?" she exclaimed as she can't believe it.

"Yes, sweetheart," her mom said as she held her hands.

"Okay fine, Don't worry, I'm totally fine now, Ah mom, can you cook for me? I'm really hungry now, " she said as her mom smiled and nodded as she walked downstairs and went into the kitchen with her father.

"Cousin? Did you see anything strange in the forest?" her cousin Antoinette asked.

"I guess none," she muttered as she shrugged her shoulders.

"Really? Then why do you seem unsure about your answer?" Antoinette asked as she continued to inspect her.

"Hey, stop that. You're the one who looks so strange, "she said, laughing at her.

"I just want to know if you're not lying to me, because I heard Auntie Alma say that there was a monster in the forest, that sometimes they heard the howl of the wolf in the middle of the night, and the next day they would be surprised to see that there was blood scattered in the forest but no corpses," Antoinette said, staring at her.

"Seriously?? Antoinette, we're in a modern world now. Do you still believe that? It's just a terrifying story for children, " Rebecca rolled her eyes.

"Then what happened to your neck? Why does it seem like some dogs bit you? I assume it's a teeth mark. I guess I don't know, "Antoinette said like she was not so sure, pointing to Rebecca's neck.
