JULIAN'S POV.
I was in the living room now with all my bags she had refused to help me with. She thought I could not carry them myself?
I was pretty sure I could lift her with one arm.
The house was medium sized and very cozy.
The art work, interior decor and painting were all fire. The person who worked on it deserved some accolades. If it was a female,in addition to her pay, she deserved some head. As well as a shopping spree.
Too fucking nice!
I didn't fail to notice the large framed picture on the wall of Joey and Kara. It was their wedding day and they both looked so happy, like they had won the lottery.
Nice. If I got married someday, there was no way I was gonna do a toothpaste commercial all in the name of trying to look happy on a photo.
I had actually missed the wedding because I had been in London at the time and couldn't travel as I had some issues with my flight.
My parents were too happy to grace the occasion with their presence and were there a week just before the wedding.
They told me how sweet and wonderful the bride was and how they wanted me to marry a girl just like her.
Joey used to be in New York with me and our family. It was our hometown. He moved away three years back and decided to settle in San Diego.
That was where he met Kara and they kicked it.
And then sometime in July last year, they were tying the knot.
I hadn't seen him since the move and we only communicated via Skype and video chats. I was glad we were gonna see each other again.
We weren't as close as twins were supposed to be but we were alright. Maybe if we were identical or even had similar personalities, we would have been way closer.
In any case, he was still my brother and he was my friend too. I loved him all the same. Our relationship was great.
I clicked my tongue before asking Miss cute face standing few inches away from me where the hell I was supposed to put my bags.
She couldn't even ask how my trip went.
"Come with me," she said as she sauntered towards one of the rooms and I followed suit, dragging a suitcase behind me. Could she walk any faster?
My eyes were fixed on the movement of her ass though.
It wasn't my fault she was walking without any care in the world and she was in front of me.
She opened a door, revealing a chic looking room. My eyes looked around and I was quite satisfied with everything except the painting on the walls.
Why the hell was the room fucking pink and purple? First of all, Ew.
Second of all, Ew.
"Isn't there another room in this house?" I was asking her.
She was standing at the door entrance with one hand on her hip and she raised a brow questioningly.
"What is wrong with this one?"
"Its fucking pink and purple. What am I? Barbie?"
"Why didn't you stay at a hotel then or better still, rent a house for the time being since you're so picky with colors?" She asked staring hard at me.
This girl was really something. Was it still about the music thingy? I deserved a thank you for blessing her ears with such for free.
"Easy tiger, you don't have to eat me," I said.
"Well this house only has two bedrooms. So unless you wanna spend your nights on the living room couch, you have to make do with this one." She replied me and then quickly added, "Do you need anything? I have to resume work now."
"I can get settled in, don't worry. I'm good and I don't need anything." I said and watched as she turned on her heel before I stopped her. "Wait, I actually need something."
"What?" She asked without even turning to look at me.
"I'm actually very hungry. Is there food in this house?"
"I'll fix up something for you. Just grab a shower and get settled."
And with that, she was gone.
I went back to the living room to get my last suitcase and soon enough, I was jumping into the shower. I was going to unpack much later.
After staying there to my heart's content, I heard Kara's voice yelling my name, telling me to come to the dining table.
I dug out my phone and sent a quick text to Joey letting him know I had arrived and was safe.
I towel dried my body and my hair, then slipped into a grey singlet over black joggers then walked over to the dining room.
I saw her seated on one of the sofas in the living room, with her eyes glued to the laptop on her lap. The TV was turned on but there was no volume.
I opened up the covered plates, revealing some beef and veggie frittata. It was loaded with ground beef, red potatoes, zucchini, tomatoes and fresh basil.
A small plate containing tiny taco beef tarts were placed at the side as an appetizer. It was a Mexican dish and I had never had one of those.
It sure looked tasty and when I took a bite of the beef, I thought I was going to roll my eyes to the back of my head. I wanted to devour everything in an instant. But I wasn't going to let Kara know how good her food tasted.
At least not right away.
Joey got himself a bad ass cook!
"Uh I've not really eaten these before, do you have a different food?" I said loud enough for her to hear.
She raised her head to look up at me.
"Have you tried it and you didn't like it?"
"Yep."
"Then maybe you should order take out. I won't be making lunch till its 2pm." She simply said and returned her eyes back to the laptop.
