JULIAN
“Can’t still the shake off the feeling that you'd decide to stay away from all women and stick with just one. You're too good looking."
"Did you just call me good looking?" I arched a brow with a teasing smile.
She flushed in embarrassment and then pushed me away from her.
"Just a slip of the tongue. Don't let it get into that head of yours,"
"Oh I see," I nodded.
"Julian can we eat? Cause I'm starving if you aren't," she said coolly and grabbed a chair.
My writing was doing better than I thought. Kara was a good teacher, I hated to admit.
And it came naturally for me.
I always had a flair for writing since I was a teen but I had to toss it aside because I wasn't really exposed to how it really worked and how I could really monetize it.
I was gonna go back to my real estate business anyways when Mandy returned. Who knows? I might actually continue with this as a side job. Asides money, I really enjoyed it as well.
I also wanted to try out fashion designing.
That was what I read in school in the first place but I ended up not pushing through with it. I loved arts and it was still top in my heart.
I doubted I was gonna pursue that anyways because Mandy was gonna need help with the cafe as well as the running of the resort.
Oh wells.
You couldn't possibly pursue everything all at once.
I really wanted to throw a party though. I didn't know anybody there but it was a great start to making some new friends. It was gonna be good for business as well, once I started.I was sure gonna convince Joey when his ass was back home.
And I did.
"You work too much, bro. How are you not losing your mind?" I pushed him by the shoulders a little.
He laughed and chugged down his drink.
"I can't lose my mind because its what I love. You wouldn't understand how much I've dreamed of having what I have now,"
"Oh I know," I poured some more wine from the bottle refilling my glass and his empty glass cup.
"But we barely see you here at home for Christ sakes and in a few days, I'd have been here for a month. Stop being a workaholic for just a day and loosen up? Gon do you some good."
"So what exactly are you saying?"
"House party. Friday night. Invite your friends. Tell your friends to invite their friends so we all have a swell time."
"Oh I don't know. I haven't hosted a house party before," he thought a little.
"That's why I'm here for you. I'd take care of everything else. I just need you to bring the guests. Don't worry I'm the man for the job."
"Okay you're always full of crazy ideas Julian but I'll take your word for it. I wonder what Kara's gonna say about this though"
"What does she have to say? She needs this party as much as you do, trust me when I say so."
"Well, you're the boss," he raised his glass as I raised mine and we clunked them together, sharing a laugh.
KARA'S POV
"Party?" I scrunched my brows together. "For what exactly? What's the celebration?"
"Julian just really wants one and I think its a good idea just to unwind you know," Joey rubbed his palms together.
"So you're just gonna agree to it just because Julian says so? If he wants to go to a party so bad, he could go to a club to get the feeling. Why must we host a party in this house for that matter for no reason?"
I crossed my arms and stared at him.
He held my shoulders. "Baby, relax. Its going to be so much fun. Julian brings the vibe to every place, I tell you. You'd love it."
I hesitated for a while and then said, "Okay, fine. Whatever"
"Yayy," he said excitedly and pulled me in a hug and I couldn't help but smile.
A party wouldn't be bad after all.
Julian was so smooth in putting everything together. He definitely had been to hundreds of parties so it was easy to set everything up.
I didn't want people trashing my house in the name of a party though.
I warned Julian and Joey telling them to make sure the guests behaved themselves. I wasn't gonna work my butt off cleaning up a mess I didn't create.
We were going to have the party at the basement anyways.
Just two hours before the guests were to come, Julian and I were doing the finishing touches and arrangements in the basement. Joey had gone out to get some more drinks.
"How many people did you guys invite again?"
"I dunno," he shrugged. "A hundred?"
"What?" I turned my head around, surprised almost losing my balance.
"Hey, careful. You don't want to fall down and break your neck," He told me as he steadied the ladder I climbed while trying to hang the light.
"What would a hundred people be doing under my roof!"
"Um.. Doing what they came to do? A party?"
"You guys are insane, honestly," I said under my breath and then climbed down, half expecting to actually lose my balance and break my leg again.
Or, for Julian to catch me in his arms and our eyes lock just like in the movies.
I laughed at the thought.
"What are you laughing about?" Julian looked at me oddly.
"How is it any of your business?"
The party was in full swing and not as bad as I thought. I got to meet some new people too as I was always cooked up in the house.
But then I saw Audrey with Dylan. She was laughing like a hyena. For heavens sakes what was so funny?
All her teeth could actually fall out.
Why did Dylan have to bring her along? To ruin the party? Okay, they were both walking over to me.
After Dylan came over to hug me, she extended her hand for a greeting and I just forced a smile at her and said,"Welcome to the party!"
When Dylan left to go say hi to Joey and Julian, she tried to engage in small talk.
And then.. Whoops! My glass containing red wine spilled on her white gown. Accidentally.
