Fvck no.
There was a time when dinosaurs existed and the world was peaceful without humans. Humans were absolutely and menace to nature and still are.
I'm talking about Darla: The representative unit of evil and bat-shit craziness.
"Louis, let's fucking leave."
"But we booked the cabin already?" Clasping his arm in mine, I hiss at him.
"I'll ask Father to book the whole restaurant for us next time. I'm not sharing it with anyone and so am I going to leave now." I say.
"But why?" His blasphemy was exhuming me with discourse. I know that booking a table here costs a fortune, but I too am hellbent on drawing a line.
And guess what? Someone was already walking towards us. Giving up, I close my eyes and look at Louis who was gazing at the hot pink, barely dressed woman.
"Hello, babe!" She chirps.
"You got a sugar daddy?" Adding that, it makes Louis throw her a glare like a fireball as he steps in front of me protectively. He knows about my double life, and I only pray that he respects it for now.
"Not at all. She's my childhood friend." He covers diplomatically. Well, that was a good answer by the way.
"It's good to see that my high school friend here is having other acquaintances than books! I was only glad to see you here honey. You put in your efforts to look splendid on your first date with your... friend here." Her lips puckered out disgustingly, she speaks as she looks at Louis, about blabber shit again as he beats her to the words.
"I believe that Cassie never has to put in effort to look good. She only feels comfortable in being grounded, nothing more and nothing less. You suit yourself with all the exposure of skin. Are you with your sugar daddy here? Because high school students maintain a lot of them around this time in summer." He roasts her to hell.
I bite down on my lip and look at her burnt face as she blinks a couple of times which makes her look like a mental asylum escapee.
And yes, the old man looking straight at us from the lesser density of the crowd seems to be her sugar daddy for the summer.
Protectively, Louis wraps his arm around my waist as I take a deep breath, making it seemingly unnoticeable that I was held captive under his gaze.
"Now if you shall excuse us." He says to the girl who looks like the words were being translated into another language in her mind.
We get inside the cabin as the door was closed, securing our privacy. I did not want to meet his eyes at this very moment. After the little commotion, I didn't want to explain everything.
But alas, he was staring straight at me and I could feel the hot conscious gaze upon myself.
"Mind explaining to me?" He insists the moment I look into his eyes. Heaving a sigh, I place my hands back on my lap and look at the water approaching us to take our order.
"Darla is my enemy and the school cheerleader. She is in 1-B, but she has been in beef with me 'cause this one time I saw her bullying my classmate and I stood up for the poor girl. She has been bothering me since then."
"I'll change her school then."
"There's no point, Louis. The old man she is out with and considers the sugar daddy is our vice-principal. There's no use taming her away when she gives head for every rise in her flawless marks." I say as I can feel how outrageous he feels about this girl.
"I'll change your school then. I'll buy a fund-"
"No point in that either. I'm fixed to this and I'll stay here."
"Amongst toxicity? Cassie, you gotta grow up. And you will grow up flawlessly. I'll change you into something prestigious. Now I'm sure they all will get to know that you're a friend of mine." He air quotes the word "friend" as I smile softly, half-heartedly.
"I don't think so, Louis. Well, you shall recommend me to the prestigious college once I complete high school then. Deal?" He looks at me with a hard gaze, but I know that he shall agree within the blink of an eye.
"Okay. Fine. But if I see something happening to you, the next day you're attending St. Harring." He says as I widen my eyes. No way.
St. Harring is one of the most prestigious schools in the whole of America and consists only of hotshots and the heirs of business people.
To say in a word or two, St. Harring is simply one of the top universities in the whole world for its exposure to reality, its inter-school competitions, and whatnot.
"That's way too far from our home. What about our deal then?" I ask as the waiter finally enters the cabin.
"Cottage cheese noodle salad, BBQ, and strawberry shake on the side, please. No starters for me." I order for myself.
"Crispy corn and potato patty with the same drink as hers for starters. Steak is medium rare for me. Thanks." He orders him and I know for sure why he told the waiter for 2 kinds of starters.
"Thank you." I mouth to him because after meeting Darla, my humongous appetite just simply crashed down to the floor.
The waiter moves away as I begin talking to Louis about anything and everything at high school. He is a very good listener and soon, we dig into our meal.
"800$, sir." The bill was. My eyes bulge out of my eyes because I almost estimated it to be around 500$.
"Taxes of five-star hotels, babe."
"Louis. I don't care that you're rich but seriously. That was a lot. I'd rather have a street raid for hunting down good food with you for 50$ max but this is too much." I say to him who chuckles and kisses me on my head.
"Oh, Cassie. 1300$ is how much I make in like five minutes! Don't worry, please."
"Good... for you." And my day with Louis ends as I wait for my weekend to be ruined by Dan who told me he was waiting for me in his room.
Naked.
