Alex was freaking out.
Dad was as calm as possible for an old man with wisdom.
I on the other hand was stuck with Nick who couldn't stop teasing me every living second of my day today. Sunday was supposed to be mine, but Nick manages to ruin everything for me. Swiftly turning around my heel— leaving the pot to handle itself with its ingredients— I stomp on his very foot. He cries in pain, and Dad thinks it was just a silly fight between siblings.
"Stop touching my butt!" The seethe comes in a whisper-shout technique, too low for our dad to hear us while Louis throws a look at us. He was the main chef preparing the dinner anyway. It was seven in the evening.
"I have been deprived. You were away and it's not either our fault." I squint my eyes and gather more anger into my eyes, hoping it'll blast him to pieces right away.
"Stay away from me if you want your head intact, Nick." I show the knife to him, but the nerdy psycho just giggles while his brother tackles him in a bro hug from behind.
"Hey, brother! They're here. Let's entertain the puppets shall we?"
"Puppets?" Dad asks them.
"Oh, it's just what we call them, dad." Dan quickly escapes with Nick and I've never seen Dan being more useful with himself than now. Taking the trash away.
Giggling, I scoot over to the tall man and give him a sweet smile to entice him into teaching me his way of cooking. Fifteen minutes later, I am still hidden inside the kitchen with papa who has his hand on my shoulder.
"You're ready?"
"I'm born ready. But it's up to Ravine if she wants to keep the secret or not. Let's go." I say to him, him passing a sweet smile to me and I wonder if I've got that from him...
I see Sharon, clad in red as expected. When Louis arrives with the food in his hands and an apron around his built body, she checks him out shamelessly. As far as I am aware, exes don't check each other out like that. And what's baffling me is that Louis was responding to her.
I smell fish.
My eyes enlarged, the pupils at least when I see Sharon gifting Louis something discreetly under the table. The man looks at me, and that forces Sharon to look in that direction. With a small nervous gulp, I was being pushed out of the kitchen to face reality.
Ravine who was in a small talk with Dan and her boyfriend, points at me and widens her eyes.
"Why are you here? You're... you're wearing PJ'S? Are you kidding?"
"Welcome to our house?" I bounce my shoulder slightly. I was already so nervous about the outcomes of this hazardous meeting.
"Your house— I don't understand..."
"Let me explain." Papa comes from behind me, smiling at the people who stand up one after one to show the eldest some respect, "She is my youngest daughter. Cassandra Johnson." Father says to the newcomer.
Dumbfounded, Ravine walks towards me like she saw a ghost and gulps frivolously. I stand there like a statue, unable to know her next actions.
"You don't have specs either."
"They're zero sight, actually. Don't let Darla know about this." I practically beg. She nods hesitantly. Moving on, the whole time of the dinner was with us girls having small talk with each other or with dad, or Sharon kept looking at Louis.
I didn't know what was going on with these two.
"Excuse me." Sharon pretty much knows our villa and where any bathroom is. She excuses herself, but soon after, Louis goes around and it bothers me that he is still in love with Sharon.
Please don't be it.
She's not a good person!
Concern fills me. I slowly place the cutlery down and excuse myself to rather spy on them both than use the washroom. I go forth to Zayn's room.
Only to find...
Louis initiated the kiss!?
My eyes bulge out of my skull.
I don't even announce myself, but their whispers stop when he sees me at the doorframe.
Why- why do I feel betrayed?
I see the tall man sighing, he knew he has to explain a lot of stuff to us.
"I invited Sharon." His words baffle me.
"Why...?" I didn't know why, but I had a shaky voice as I ask him. He holds my face and...are those tears in his eyes?
"Please don't think I've used you. Sharon and I broke up because I felt infatuated with you and- and I want to break free from the deal." Says, Louis.
I didn't know to feel.
He did use me.
He used my body to keep up with his sexual tendencies and when his first love was... I was being discarded.
Tears start rolling down my eyes and before they could console me, I smile and get out of the room. I have one thing I should give them both.
I enter my room. The most priced possession of mine stands tall in the closet as I open the box and smile at the inanimate object. Walking back out, I look at the two and hand the box to Sharon who is confused but still takes the velvet possession in her hands.
They both lean in and Louis gasps loudly as it is opened.
"It's your gift from me, Cassie—"
"Louis, please. I don't want to be tied with you anymore. Consider this as our parting gift, and Sharon... it'll suit you better." Looking at the two with blobs of tears in my eyes, the smile takes up my features as I begin running out at full speed.
I didn't know that someone was following me from home till the end of the world.
So this is how it feels like.
To be used by your favorite person. It was overwhelming for a girl like me...
