Dan was staring at my face, his eyes giving away the emotions I did not expect. He held very sweet dreams of us, it was as though he was planning our future ahead. He wanted to get into a real relationship with me.
As I begin panicking about everything, Dan quickly smiles and breathes out. Looking straight ahead of him, leaving me to wonder by myself, Dan suddenly kisses my cheek out of nowhere and takes me aback. He looked so cute, literally out of his character and sweet.
I wished he was like this forever.
Or was I only craving a lot of male attention?
Anyway, I find Dan chuckling while he says to me, "You're really very pretty. We went nuts when Alex told us how skinny you looked in the beginning. Louis cares about you and started to learn how to cook good food. Zayn and me, well, we make sure you eat and you know how Nick is. He keeps his distance but trust me, Cassandra, boys don't go out of their ways to love someone if they don't love you enough. You mean that much to us." He says, concluding sweetly.
We do not realise that it has already been sunset.
"You're a special part of our lives, Cassandra."
I did not know how to react to that.
Slowly, I begin to realize that these men love me so much that I begin to forget how it is to be lonely. How horrible it was to figure out everything by myself for seventeen years and almost your whole life, if childhood and adolescence is the huge part of our lives.
Judging by my ghastly look, Dan chuckles in his manly voice. His huge hand makes it's way to caress my hair and put me to ease, set me on the path to solace. That was a really huge term, and I won't be afraid to use it.
"I love all of you, too." I say to the young man, the smile dancing on his lips like a little bird in the morning. We make our way towards a classroom as he closes the door behind himself and stares at me.
"The birth control still works, Dan." I let him know my intention.
A few hours pass by, the morning sunrise was harsh upon our eyes as I wake up and find Dan over his jacket that we used as a mattress as well as our bags as pillows for the adventurous night. The Sundays from the window woke me up instantly by heating me up to the point that I was sweating profusely.
Tapping on Dan's arm, I let him know that it was time for us to leave.
"You think security will open the gates now?" I ask him, looking at his wrist watch as he looks at it too. "It's 6:30. Alex and his team will be here for practice now." Dan replies to me in his sleepy voice and I was honestly taken aback by the deepness of his morning voice.
"Damn, daddy." I mutter in my own slurry tone, glad that it sounded sexy and not homeless.
A few minutes later, we pass by the security and I was a thousand percent sure that Alex was on rounds to check each and every classroom of the campus for us. He knows that we were late to home and the signals here at school were weak as hell. Just when we reached the ground floor and turned around, we heard footsteps and the male in expectation was surprised to see us.
Suddenly, I feel Dan leaning inside my hair as he whispers against my ear, "If you don't want our brother to rant, run." Oh fuck. The way he whispered it made me want to ride him again, but as we joined hands and decided upon ditching Alex for now, we started running.
Our giggles were left behind in the air, hand in hand as we cross the gates with our bags and we knew Alex wouldn't follow us past the gates because he had practice. He is very serious about practice.
Five minutes of vigorous running, we reach home and see the door open as if dad knew he was welcoming the missing two of his family members.
As we tip toe inside the house, we see our old man behind us like a vendetta, a cup of warm coffee in his hand and his infamous blue knitted sweater upon his wrinkled old skin.
"Where were you two?" He sounded calm, way too calm for realizing that his two kids went missing overnight.
"At the school, papa. We got locked inside and the signals are way too weak there." Dan answers on my behalf as I try to hide the giggles as strongly as I could. They were like what I describe as a hydrogen bomb. If it were to release upon us, the after effects of the bomb will be something like witnessing our calm papa become a volcano.
"Okay."
O- okay?
That easy...?
Dan and I look at each other and think if dad was really getting older to deal with our teenage problems anymore. But who cares! We are free as a Phoenix now!
Secretly high-fiving Dan behind our school bags, I see Zayn behind us sighing and tucking his shirt inside his trousers.
"Whoa, whose marriage are you attending today?" I ask the guy who approaches me and we secretly kiss without Dad knowing about us.
"Whoa, you stink." It was Zayn who said that, turning to Dan who winks at us, especially me.
"Sorry. Dan's finna start having pineapples."
"Excuse me? I nutted for you five times yesterday and that was the highest amount until now." Dan was being an imbecile as I hiss, "Should I give you a fucking mic?"
At that, he flips me off as I do the same and check the surroundings and deem it safe before kissing Zayn on his cheek rather.
"All the best for your speech today, Zayn. I know that's a bit weird for the introvert you." I say to the guy who gives me a slanted smile.
"I'm the president of the club, anyway. Gotta go. Bye gorgeous." Kissing me despite calling me stinky, I smile into the kiss but it fades when I realize that today,
I'm Zayn's.
