"I still vote taking a few agberos to beat the living day out of that useless man" Dara said when she brought some cheesecake for Ife and her twin in their living room.
The twins were getting prepared to leave for their holiday trip to Paris for the weekend when Ife came to their doorstep looking so tired, and in tears, so they had to cancel their flight.
"No, I don't want to do that" Ife said when she looked at her.
Dora gave her twin a disapproving look as she comforts Ife.
"Well, if you come to a conclusion that's what you want, I know a few people" she pats her head then sat at the other side of her.
"I don't want to say this but I am with Dara on this, that boy deserves to be put in his place" Dora said. "Like it's not enough that he lets your mum and sisters get him to convince you to do what they want you to do and now he had the guts to cheat on you when you're at your lowest" she shook her head.
"He should be happy that I'm not the one he tried that rubbish with," Dara gave a dramatic laugh with a shake of her head.
Dara handed Ife a plate that contained a slice of cheesecake then handed her twin one while she took two slices for herself.
She started eating and while she was going to take her second bite, she felt gazes on her and when she turned, both Ife and D'or were looking at her, she rose a brow and put the forkful of cake in her mouth.
"What? Getting angry makes me super hungry," she said then continued eating "And makes my sugar level low" she murmured.
"What do you want to do now?" Dora asked Ife.
Ife let out a sigh then sat on the floor as she continues to eat the cake.
"I really don't know, because... I just don't know"
"I knew this was coming, I knew it" Dara blurts but a painful pinch and hard glare from her twin shut her from saying anything more.
"What? How would you know?" Ife looked at her "Who would have thought that Tomiwa would do something like that to me?" she threw her hands up in the air in frustration.
Dora looked at her twin and shook her head so that she doesn't say anything that would make Ife hurt more. Dora knew of Tomiwa's many affairs and when she approached him, he told her that Ife was naive and wouldn't believe her since she was madly in love with him and he is the key to the love she needs from her mum and acceptance from her sisters.
Dora was hurt on Ife's account but she didn't want to cause her anymore pain, she just hoped that Ife leaves him for someone better and she wouldn't have to hurt again.
She just didn't want to see the pain in her friends face anymore. Ife has been through enough with her mum and she saying something about Tomiwa's affairs will hurt her more.
"Anyone could change and do things we don't think they are capable of" she shrugged. "Just don't let this get to you, you are more than this Ife, I know that" she hugged her.
"I don't want to go back home, I sort of had a head-on argument with my mum and sisters and I don't want to face them, not now... they'll see another means to torment me and continue to tell me how bad i have it since dad isn't here to defend me" her lips quivered as she said that.
"Just let it out," Dora hugged her close "Just let the tears out... don't hold anyone back, just... let it out" she said in a soothing tone while patting her head lightly.
Ife cried hard while her head rests on Dora's shoulder.
The hurt she she's feeling now, is worse than the hurt her mum and sisters ever made her feel. This was coming from the man that she learned to love with her whole heart and he had the boldness to do this petty thing to her after how long they've been together.
"I don't know what to do D's, I feel so hopeless, so helpless... I don't know how to take this" she sniffled "I'm hurting bad and I feel so heavy"
Dara looked at her in worry and pity then she pulled her from Dora so that they were facing each other.
"I know I can be harsh sometimes but I'm really sorry for this that happened to you, I don't think I should say this now but I think it's time you get rid of the tick drawing blood from you and move on" she shrugged "He hasn't in anyway helped you to heal or feel better so you don't need him in your life"
Dora placed her hand on her shoulder.
"He proved how much he doesn't need you then you don't need him, you never needed him anyways" she said and Dara nods in agreement.
"He needs you in his life to meme himself valid. Don't limit yourself or your worth to whatever your family and that douche has to say. Ifeoluwa Ayomipo Tobiloba, the strongest and bravest girl we know" Dara said with a grin.
"Things like this shouldn't be the one to make you all gloomy and sad, you're better than this" Dora continued.
Ife looked at them and smiled them brought them in for a group hug.
"I'll keep saying this. I bless GOD for friends like you, you both are more than friends to me... my sisters, my family. Thank you" Ife cried.
"We will be always there whenever you need us" Dora said.
"Just call or come to us"
"Thank you" she released them from the hug then cleaned her face with the handkerchief she was offered.
"Now that you're cheerful,"
"You're coming with us to Paris" Dara smiled at her.
"I'm not prepared and I don't want to go home now to ge-"
"That's not a problem, we will have an emergency shopping after we booked our flight for this evening or tomorrow morning" Dora said and rolled her eyes when Dara clapped in excitement.
"Dara and shopping" Ife laughed.
"Oh please," Dara scoffed "No one will take that from me" she stood to her feet then went to her room to get ready.
"Go change into some of my clothes, we are the same size so pick whatever you want to wear and I'll get our tickets ready" Dora told her.
Ife took out her passport from her bag the handed it over to her before standing up to head to Dora's room.
"Thank you" she said when she was at the edge of the hallway. Dora smiled then opened her laptop to buy their tickets.
