“Come on, try our fruit shakes. You will also get a free hug if you buy one, courtesy of our beautiful Irani,” Che said to Andrei with an encouraging smile.
From her classmate, Drei turned his gaze at Irani. She pursed her lips as she looked at him. She was more than willing to give him a hug.
Even if unlimited hugs if he wants to, Irani thought to herself.
"What's your bestseller here?" Drei asked.
"Oh, strawberry shakes," Che answered.
"I'll have two strawberry shakes," Drei said to Che.
After getting his order, Irani's lips parted when Drei handed her one strawberry shake that he bought. "Here, Irani. Maybe you're also thirsty from the hot weather today."
"Thank you." She bit her lip to prevent herself from smiling too wide. He was not only a gentleman, he was also very thoughtful.
“You have a free hug from Irani, Mister," Che announced.
Irani was already willing to hug Drei but then the guy just turned to her and smiled. “Nah. I'm good with this," he said, slightly raising the cup of strawberry shake in his hand.
Wow, he was really a gentleman. Irani thought to herself despite feeling a slight disappointment.
"Wait, we have a quiz here for our customers," Che said. "You can win a prize if you answer the question right."
Che handed the fishbowl to Drei, urging him to get one folded paper inside. Amused, Drei took one folded paper from the fishbowl. Then he opened it and read what was written on the paper.
“The only limits for tomorrow are the doubts we have today.”
"From what book is that particular line, Sir?" Che asked Drei. She noticed all of her group mates now were looking for Drei and waiting for his answer.
It was a line from The Power of Six.
"Uh...I really have no idea,” Drei said, smiling sheepishly. “I’m sorry.”
"It's okay, Drei,” she said to him, smiling.
"Yeah, it's fine," Albert agreed, smiling at Drei. "You're still cute, anyway."
Drei smiled again before leaving their booth.
“Who's that guy, Irani? In fairness, he's a total cutie," Albert asked her after Drei finally disappeared from their sight.
"Oh, he's my future boyfriend," Irani answered, grinning at him.
"He's from the hotel and culinary arts college? Wow, don't tell me he just went here to our college to support you?!"
Irani pursed her lips when she realized what Albert said. Drei's college building was far from hers. Would she be so delusional if she wanted to think that he really just came here to see her?
Her smile widened as she took a sip of her strawberry shake.
“But he just ignored your free hug," Albert commented.
She just smiled as she shrugged her shoulders. “Well, he's a gentleman.”
Albert pouted her lips. “Aw, I don't like guys who are too much of a gentleman. I want someone who has a naughty side. “Oh, my G!”
Irani looked in the direction where Albert was looking. She saw a familiar guy walking towards them. It was none other than Red.
“Red dela Merced is coming!” Albert announced excitedly, his eyes twinkling while looking at him.
“More like the monkey is coming.” Irani couldn't help but say, rolling her eyes.
Red automatically smirked when their eyes met. “Hi, Irani," he greeted her with a grin.
She rolled her eyes at him. "What are you doing here? You know what, why do I always see you in places where I've been?"
"Wow, you're assuming there, shortcake?" he said with a smile. "Doesn't it occur to you that maybe I just really want to buy some fruit Shakes?"
He then turned to Che and Albert. He bought some strawberry shakes. While Che was making his order, Red turned to her. He then opened his arms for her and smirked. "Where’s my hug, shortcake?" he asked.
She snickered at him. “I don't have a hug for you.”
He raised his brows at her. “Really? I bought fruit shakes but no free hug for me?"
“Babe, I can give you a free hug if you want—" Albert interjected, smiling at Red but then he wasn't able to finish his sentence when Che pinched his arm.
"Shut up, Albert."
“Wait, babe. You need to answer one of the questions here," Albert said to Red, handing him the fishbowl and explaining to him what he needs to do.
“If you answer it correctly, you have a special prize for you."
“Really?” Red said, excitement in his tone.
“Yes, babe,” Albert said, winking at Red.
Irani rolled her eyes at Albert for trying to flirt with Red. This gay was really a flirt.
“Can I ask for a kiss from Irani for my prize?" Red asked, turning to Irani with a devilish smile on his face.
Albert widened his eyes while looking at her and Red.
Irani coughed from drinking her milkshake. “Are you okay, shortcake?”
She then glared at him. “Shut up, Red. As if I'd let you kiss me!"
“Aw, Red, you made Irani shocked with your request," Albert said with a teasing smile.
“Don’t worry, I won’t kiss you here, shortcake. I would like to, but then I don't want to get sued for child abuse—" Before Red could even finish whatever he was saying, she already slapped him in the arm.
Damn, she hated that he has such hard muscles!
Red then picked up a paper from the fishbowl. “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
Hah! As if Red would manage to guess that right. Irani thought to herself.
She smirked as she looked at him. He doesn't even look like he was fond of reading novels.
But then Red smirked at her.
“The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho."
Irani's eyes widened in shock. How the hell did he manage to answer that?
“Bravo!” Albert said, clapping his hand impressively. “And because you got it right, you have a special cheesecake from us."
