Andrei smiled at her. “Yup. I decided to do my assignment here since my siblings are noisy at home."
Irani pursed her lips. "Oh, how many siblings do you have?"
“I have three younger siblings,” Andrei answered. "I'm the eldest in the family." His youngest sibling was four years old.
“How about you, Irani?” he asked.
“I'm an only child, eh,” Irani answered. "When I was young, it was lonely being an only child since I had no one to play with at home. But thank God I found a best friend when I turned high school."
"Cashmere, right?" Andrei asked, smiling at her.
Irani smiled back at him. "Yup. She's my best friend."
Irani accidentally touched his pencil on the table. It rolled and fell on the floor.
Both Irani and Drei crouched down to pick it up. Then Irani accidentally touched Drei's hand. "Uh, sorry," Irani said in panic. She turned to Drei and shyly smiled at him.
"It's okay..." Andrei said, smiling at her. Then he picked up the pencil and went back to what he was doing as if nothing happened.
"I have a feeling that he also likes me, Cash," Irani kept on telling Cashmere as they spent their free time at the coffee shop near the campus the next day.
"Hmm, how sure are you about it, Irani?" Cashmere asked after sipping her favorite strawberry and cream frappe. “Maybe Andrei is really kind, you know. Unless he tells you that he likes you, you can't really be sure. It's hard to assume."
"Then why of all the vacant seats in the library, he chose to sit on my table?" she asked her best friend.
"Because he considers you as a friend?" Cashmere answered back.
Irani pouted her lips. "Then how can I know that Drei likes me, too?"
"I also don't know, Irani," Cashmere said. "I wish I could easily tell so I would have an idea if Grey really likes me or if he just sees me as a little sister."
Irani bit her lower lip after sipping from her drink. “Let’s ask Google.”
She took out her phone from her pocket and opened the search engine. There, she typed in How to make sure if a guy likes you.
Her eyes widened with the results that she saw on her phone screen.
“Blueberry cheesecake for Irani.”
Irani stopped browsing at her when she heard the barista call her name. She immediately closed the browser and went to the counter to hear her order. While she was on her way back to their table, she decided to stop by the message wall of the coffee shop.
She went there and try to read some of the notes that were posted there.
Red,
I love you to the stars and back!!!
Irani frowned at the particular note. She still couldn't believe how Red has so many damn admirers.
But before she left and went back to their table, a particular note caught her eye. It was written on white paper.
How to make sure he’s into you?
Number 1: If he looks at you A LOT.
Irani took her cell phone from her pocket to take a photo of what was written there on the note. But then she winced when her phone suddenly died because of an empty battery.
She just decided to grab the note from the wall and put it inside her skirt's pocket.
I guessed no one would get mad if she took that particular note, right? Irani said to herself.
NUMBER 1: A guy likes you IF he looks at you a lot.
Irani was currently in the library at that time. Their class was required to watch a play in the auditorium later that afternoon. Cashmere already went to the theater building together with some of their classmates.
But then Irani chose to visit the library first to kill time. She still has your before the play started.
Well, she was hoping to see Drei there. According to him, he was always in the library every Tuesday afternoon to do his assignments.
Irani immediately smiled and told herself that it was really the right decision to go to the library first. Because a few minutes later, she already spotted Drei entering the library.
She saw how Drei looked around until his eyes found hers. Drei smiled at him as he started walking to her table. Irani smiled back at him.
“Trigo again?” Irani asked him when he took out his Math notebook.
“Yeah. Our professor always leaves us with assignments." Andrei said.
He smiled at her before his eyes went back to the notebook in front of him. Irani also tried to focus on the book she was reading. But then she couldn't help but look at Drei from time to time. She noticed that he was frowning hard while scribbling something in his notebook.
“Are you okay, Drei?” she couldn't help but ask him.
Drei turned to her, a small smile on his face. “My head was aching from all this solving."
Irani offered a small smile. "Can I see it? Maybe I can help you with it."
Andrei smiled shyly before showing her his notebook.
She noticed that his handwriting was neat and clean. She moved on to the equation in his notebook and tried to familiarize herself with it.
Her lips formed a smile when she remembered how to solve those particular math equations. It was still fresh in her mind when their professor discussed it last week.
"Here," Irani said before she pointed at the part of the equation where Drei got it wrong.
Andrei moved closer to her. "Oh, so that's how it is solved," he said. He turned to her and smiled. “Thank you. I’m not really good with math.” He smiled sheepishly before he touched his nape. “That's really my weakness.”
"Oh. It's fine," Irani said, smiling at him. "All of us have weaknesses. Mine is Science. I'm not really good at it." she admitted, chuckling a bit.
