Ch. 66RED (FOUR)

Irani's eyes followed Andrei. She couldn't help but examine his back. Darn. He really had a nice back view.

Her eyes went to the name printed on his jersey. Mendoza. His jersey number was 25.

“Hey, shortcake.”

Irani pressed her lips together when she heard that voice. She then turned around to face Red. He was holding an empty bottle of energy drink. Sweat was dripping on his forehead. His hair was disheveled and wet from sweat.

She craned her neck to look at him. "Will you stop calling me shortcake!"

He was freaking tall. She bet he was even an inch taller than Drei.

Red was her most hated person in the world. She hates the way he bullies her. She hates the way he smiled at her. She hates his cockiness. She hates how he still managed to look handsome despite the sweat on his face.

Red lowered his head at her. Then the asshole smiled playfully. "Why would I stop when you're really a midget, Irani?"

Irani was five one. She got that height from her mother. But even if she was petite and small, she wasn't feeling insecure about it. She knew she was attractive, besides she was smart.
Irani gritted her teeth as she gave Red a death glare. "Ugh. You really are an ass, Red. I hate you!"
She pushed hard before walking out of the gymnasium.
"Damn him," she muttered under her breath when she heard his chuckle.

“Wow, everything smells great, I'm getting hungry,” Cashmere commented when they reached the College of Hospitality and Culinary Arts building.

It was the college's founding anniversary. There was a food exhibit happening there right now. There were different booths that offered different cuisines.

After their last subject that day, Irani dragged her best friend to go with her. She was hoping to see Andrei there since he's a hospitality and culinary student.

"Wait, Irani, let's buy some corndog," Cash said pointing at the booth that offers corndog and other Korean street food.
Irani pursed her lips. "Let's find Drei first, Cash. I planned to buy it from his booth."

Both of them continued to look around the place.

“Oh, wait, I finally saw him, Irani," Cashmere said to her after a few minutes of roaming around.

“Where?” Irani asked.

Cashmere pointed at a booth on their left. Irani's eyes widened when she finally spotted Andrei. He was wearing an apron over his college uniform.

Damn. He looked so dreamy in that apron.

"Come on, let's go there." Without having second thoughts, she pulled Cashmere towards the particular booth.

The booth where Andrei was was offering different pasta dishes.

"Hello, try our pasta," the girl in Andrei's booth said to them.

Irani's eyes looked at the different trays of pasta dishes displayed in front.
"I think I'll try the lasagna," Cashmere said beside her.

Before Irani could say something, she saw that Andrei finally noticed them. He went near them with a surprised smile on his face.

"Hey, Irani. You're here," he said, smiling at her.

“Hi…” she greeted him back. Irani bit her lower lip to stop herself from smiling giddily.

Play it cool, Irani, she reminded herself.

"We're going to try your lasagna," she said to him.

"Oh, you won't regret it, Miss," the girl beside Andrei said. "It was Andrei who cooked the lasagna."

Irani's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"

Andrei gave her a small smile. "Uh, yeah. I was the one who prepared the lasagna."

Irani noticed how his cheeks turned a shade darker. Was he blushing? Cute.

“Drei, this is my best friend Cashmere, by the way," she said, glancing at Cashmere before her eyes went back to Andrei.
“Hi, Drei,” Cashmere said, smiling at Andrei.

“In fairness, he really is cute on his apron and his lasagna really looks appetizing," Cashmere commented.

They were seated at the table in front of Andrei's booth while waiting for their order. Aside from the lasagna, they also ordered baked mac.

It was Drei who personally prepared their order. Irani was surprised when Andrei even put two slices of Graham cake on their table.

"Wait, we didn't order this, Andrei," Irani told him, confused.

Andrei just smiled at her. "I know. That's on me."

Irani felt like something tickled her chest with the smile Andrei gave her. “Uh, thank you,” she said, smiling shyly at him.

Andrei smiled back. “You’re welcome, Cassidy.”

After that, Andrei left them and went back to their booth. Irani couldn't help but watch him as he attended to other customers.

He was really delightful to watch. He was always smiling and polite.

“Cravings satisfied, Irani?” Cashmere teased her after leaving the food festival. After eating their order, they didn't get the chance to talk to Andrei since he got busy from the people flocking to their booths.

Irani gave her best friend a satisfied smile. "Gosh, he's really so dreamy. And his lasagna, ugh it's so good."

Cashmere laughed. Then she gasped as if she remembered something. "Oh, wait. The band will be playing today. Come on, let's watch them."

Cashmere dragged her to the field where Flying Colors would hold their performance.

When they got there, the band was already playing. She could hear the sound of the instruments together with Blue's husky voice.

Flying Colors was the name of the band of Cashmere's brother Blue. The band was famous on campus. Most of the students knew them. They were always invited to play every time there was a school event. Even some of the students were inviting them to their house parties. They mostly covered foreign rock alternative rock to rock ballads.

The band was composed of four members who all have cool nicknames: Blue, Indigo, Grey, and Red.

Yep. The guy she hated the most was a part of that band. He was the lead. Blue was the vocalist, Indigo was the bassist and Grey was the band’s drummer.

“Excuse me,” Cashmere said to the students in front of them as she continued to pull her in front, near the stage.
