“Not anymore,” Indigo said to her in a cold voice, as if reading her thoughts.
“Well, strawberries are my favorites,” Red said to Chastity, giving her a smile. “Since Indigo won't eat them, then can I have them instead?" he asked in a hopeful voice.
"Oh, shut up, Red," Blue said, laughing at his cousin. "You're such a thick-faced."
Chastity managed to chuckle a little, then she nodded at Red. "Uh, sure you can have some."
Red's smile widened as he grabbed the box. “So what's your course, Chastity?” Red asked her while eating a donut.
“Communication Arts.” She glanced at Indigo but he wasn't even paying her attention. He was busy on his phone. She wondered if he was texting someone.
“Indigo, why are you suddenly quiet there?" Red asked.
“Nothing. I'm just not in the mood.” Indigo answered without even looking at them.
Red's gaze went back to Chastity. “You're from Davao, right? Why did you transfer here to Manila?”
“To bring back the most important person in my life,” she answered, her eyes at Indigo.
Chastity noticed how Indigo stiffened. He clenched his jaw before he stood up from his seat. "I have something else to do," Indigo said before leaving the table.
“Indigo, where are you doing, dude?” Red asked, confusión on his face.
Chastity's eyes followed Indigo as he stormed out of the cafeteria. She wanted to follow him, but before she could leave her seat, Blue spoke.
“You're Indigo's ex-girlfriend, aren't you?"
Red's eyes widened at her. “You're the girl who hurt Indigo?"
Chastity sighed as she nodded at the two guys in front of her. "Yeah. That's me."
Blue raised his brow. “And the reason you transfer here is because you want him back?”
Chastity gave them a small smile. "Yeah. I didn't mean to hurt him before. I'm still in love with him and I want him back."
“Good luck, Chas. You'll be having a hard time getting Indigo back," Red said to her.
“Especially now that there's Kas in his life,” Blue muttered.
Chastity swallowed. “That girl? Is she Indigo's girlfriend?”
“No. They’re still not together.” Blue said, giving her a small smile. “If you want him back, you better make your move now. Before it's too late for you. You see, Kassandra's also a nice woman."
“Kasandra maybe Grey’s best friend, but I'd still put my bet on you.” Red winked at her. “You got me with these strawberry donuts, Chastity."
“I'M so glad, you made time to see me...”
Chastity softly sang as she strummed the guitar in her hand. She borrowed it from her best friend's brother Lucky.
Since one of her professors didn't attend the class, she used that vacant time to practice her piece for the audition. She planned to audition for Montello's Got Talent, the university’s yearly talent competition.
“You’re really going to audition for Montello's Got Talent?” Karen asked her the other day after telling her her plans.
Montello's Got Talent was held during the university’s foundation week... When Chastity found out that the Flying Colors were included in the panel of judges, she immediately joined the contest.
“What talent are you going to show, Chas?” Karen asked.
Chastity pursed her lips. “Uh, maybe singing while playing the guitar?”
“Chastity.” She was back in the present when she heard someone call her.
Chastity turned to Mark. “Hey,” she said, smiling at him.
He glanced at the guitar she was holding. “Your guitar’s out of tune, Chastity.”
Chastity smiled awkwardly. “Oh, that’s why I felt something’s wrong,” she said. “Do you know how to tune a guitar?”
Mark smiled. “Yeah. Let me.” He took the guitar from her and tuned it. “Here,” Mark said as he handed it back to her.
“Thank you, Mark.”
“Just thank you?” he playfully said. “How about you treat me to lunch?”
“Okay,” she said, shrugging her shoulders. Unlike what Karen has said to her, Mark was really nice and friendly. When lunchtime came, they both went to the cafeteria.
“So, you’re Karen’s best friend?” Mark asked her while they were lining up on the counter.
Chastity nodded. “Hmm, why does my best friend hate you? Did you owe her something?” she curiously asked him.
Mark grinned at her. “Nah. She’s the one who owes me something. She didn’t give me the date she promised me the day of our senior prom.”
Chastity’s lips parted. “You like my best friend?”
Mark just answered her with a smile as he turned to the trays of food in front of them. “What do you want to eat?”
She ordered one cup of rice and a serving of chop suey.
“Are you sure you’re only going to eat that?” Mark asked her. “No wonder you’re thin, Chas.”
“I’m fine with this,” Chastity said, pursing her lips at Mark. “Besides, I’m not fat. This is what you call sexy,” she playfully said.
“You call that body sexy?”
She chuckled as she rolled her eyes at him. “Maybe Karen was right when she said you’re not really nice, Mark. No wonder, Karen doesn’t want to date you.”
Mark acted as if he got struck by an arrow in his chest. Karen laughed as she followed him to a vacant table.
“Chastity!”
Chastity turned to where the voice came from. She spotted Red on a table near them. He was with Blue, Grey, and Indigo.
All of them were looking at her, including Indigo. Her eyes landed on Indigo. Their eyes met. But unlike Red, his expression was cold.
She smiled at him. He didn’t smile back. He then looked away from her. But despite that, Chastity still walked towards their table.
“Hi, Chastity,” Red greeted her with a smile before he introduced her to Grey. Blue and Grey both gave her friendly smiles.
“Come on, sit here Chastity,” Blue pointed at the vacant chair beside Indigo.
Red grinned at her. “Yeah, Chastity. Sit here beside Indigo.”
Indigo didn't say anything and just continued eating.
But what about Mark?
Chastity didn’t want to waste this chance with Indigo. but then she also didn’t want to disrespect Mark. She agreed to treat him to lunch.
She gave them a small smile. “Uh, I just went here to greet you, guys. But I can’t join you guys. I’m actually with someone right now.”
