I'M in the clinic.
Chastity was suddenly filled with worry upon receiving Indigo's text message. She immediately went to the clinic.
And there, she saw Indigo lying on the clinic bed.
“W-what happened?” she asked. She gasped loudly when her hand went to his forehead. “You're burning!”
“I know," Indigo answered, winking at her.
But then Chastity frowned at him. “I’m serious, Indigo. You have a fever!"
"I know, baby," he gave her a small smile. "But this is nothing, okay? Don't worry too much."
She sat on the stool next to his bed. “Have you taken medicine already ?”
“Yes. Stop worrying, Chas.”
She pouted at him. “How can I stop worrying when I know you're not okay?”
“I'll be okay soon.” He smiled at her. “I've already had my special medicine. You.”
She playfully rolled her eyes at him. “Stop playing around, Indigo. You're sick."
But then she held his hand and sighed. “I'm sorry, Indigo.” It was her fault that he got sick. “It's my fault.”
He got soaked in the rain while looking for Percy.
Indigo shook his head. “It's not your fault, baby...”
“You should’ve stayed at home for today,” she sighed.
Indigo just pursed his lips. “I don't want to miss you.”
Chastity poured to stop herself from smiling. Damn. He was already sick but he still managed to make her heart flutter.
“You should go back to class,” Indigo said after a while, glancing at his watch. "Lunch break is almost over."
Chastity shook her head. “I'll stay here with you, Indigo."
He gave her a look and sighed. “Chas...”
“Why don't you want me to take care of you?” she asked him, pouting.
“Of course, I want to. But not for the sake of you missing your class.”
“Miss.”
The curtain opened, revealing one of the nurses in their clinic. “Don’t you have any class this afternoon?" she asked her.
“Uh, I still have classes.” She gave her a small smile.
The nurse offered her a smile. “You should go back to your class now. In the meantime, I'll take care of your friend for you."
“Uhm.” Chastity glanced at Indigo before her eyes went back to the nurse in front of her. She didn’t want to go and leave him there.
“Can I also stay here instead? I suddenly don't feel well." She winced before she placed her hand on her head to fake a headache.
Even the nurse didn't look convinced with her, she even nodded at her.
Chastity's eyes went back to Indigo. "I don't think we'll do something important today in class," she lied. The truth is, they have a quiz this afternoon. But she didn't want to leave Indigo there. It was just one quiz anyway. It won't affect her grades.
“Besides, even if I miss a lesson, today, I knew I could bounce back and perfect all my exams. So, don't worry, okay?" She confidently smiled at him. "Let me stay here with you, baby."
“HAPPY birthday, Chas,” Chastity's mother smiled at her as they both looked at her reflection in the mirror.
Today was her birthday and the day of their prom.
She was wearing a midnight blue dress with a sweetheart neckline. Her hair was tied up in a bun, with loose tendrils framing her face.
"Thanks, Ma," she smiled back at her mother.
A moment later, Indigo arrived. He was looking drop-dead gorgeous in a black coat and tie. His hair was swept up. He looked very handsome. He was holding a bouquet of red roses.
“Happy birthday, beautiful.” Indigo greeted her as he handed the bouquet of flowers to her.
“Thank you, Indigo,” Chastity smiled wide as she brought the flowers near her nose and smelled them.
“Enjoy the party, you two,” her mother said, looking at them with a soft smile on her face. She then turned to Indigo. “Take care of my daughter, Indigo.”
Indigo smiled back. “I will, Ma'am."
“You’re the most beautiful tonight,” Indigo said as they entered his car. He was looking at her as if he was admiring every detail of her face.
She smiled back. “You two, Indigo. I didn't know you're even more handsome when your hair's brushed up like that."
“What if we just ditched this party? Let's just date instead." Indigo said after they arrived at the school grounds.
Chastity turned to him. Her brows furrowed. “Huh?”
Indigo pursed his lips as his eyes lingered on her. “I don’t want other guys to look at you.”
Chastity chuckled. “Indigo, I didn't know you could be possessive.”
Indigo pouted his lips. “Seriously, baby. You don't like my idea."
She grinned because she really found him cute. "Don't worry, baby. I'll only be looking at you the whole night."
After arriving at the gym, Indigo separated for a while to get to their own classmates.
“Happy birthday, Chas,” her classmate Nick greeted her.
“Thank you.” She smiled at him.
“Chas, can I have a dance with you?” Nick smiled.
But even before Chastity could answer, Indigo already appeared near them. “Sorry, she will only dance with me tonight,” Indigo said, giving Nick a sharp look.
“Indigo, I didn't know you're possessive," she teased him when Nick left them.
Indigo turned soft as he looked at her. “I’m in love with you, baby. That’s why I’m this jealous.”
She felt like something melted inside of her at that moment. Indigo held out his hand to her. She accepted it.
Indigo brought her to the dance floor.
“Happy birthday, baby,” Indigo whispered while they were dancing. Both of his hands were on her waist while hers were on his shoulders.
“Where is my gift, Indigo?” she joked, raising her brows at him.
He also raised one brow at her. “Baby, I thought my heart was already enough?"
She chuckled. "So really? You're not going to give me anything?"
Before Indigo could answer, the whole place suddenly went dark. The sound from the dealer went off together with the lights. Some of the students even shrieked in shock.
