Lailahs DK
One thing I disliked the most in this world was flights, yes I hated it so much. Presently Haidar and I were both seated in his company's private jet. We were heading to Dubai the Emirates. Seriously I love Dubai a lot and I simply cannot remember the last time I was over there.
I sat on the left side of the airplane while Haidar sat on the right and was peacefully asleep. I couldn't help but chuckle a bit at how his head felt to his shoulder as he slept. He looked funny. All this wasn't my problem at the moment, I was just silently praying I don't get my period on this journey. My period normally comes with keen pains that sometimes rendered me unmovable. But then, it's not often that it occurs. But with the way my stomach was cringing, I knew I would be in serious trouble and I owed it all to Hajarahs wedding where I was forced to have lots of cake. Nevertheless, I still decided to sleep. I had taken some painkillers and hoped they'll take effect real quick. But the truth was that when it comes to my period, pain killers are simply useless.
I slept like a child, I didn't even realize that someone was shouting my name vigorously. "Lailah." I heard Haidar's voice. The thing is, I wasn't used to being called 'Lailah' by him. My name sounded far from coming from him. But I like the way he pronounced it, he calls my name as though he owned it. It was a different ring in my ear.
"Ma'am," I said wearily. I heard him hiss as he threw a handkerchief at my face. The great scent of the perfume immediately made my eyes go wide open. Was he trying to choke me?
"Now I see you are awake from your mum's nap" I heard him say. I couldn't help but chuckle when he pronounced the word mumu. It sounded funny coming from a man with a Canadian accent.
"I'm sorry, I was tired." I yawned and another fizz escaped his mouth.
"Come on, let's go, please. I have no time to waste over here" He said. "And one more thing, there is no way you'll follow me around Dubai looking like a twit." He said. The rude prince never died in him.
"I'm not a fool Your Highness." I couldn't resist the urge to say. It was annoying.
"I never said you were, all I meant is that you dress like one. I mean who wears all black? are you a cultist?." He said with his eyes as wide as a saucer. I chuckled.
"Sir the convoys are outside." A man who had accompanied us from Nigeria said. He had sat in front with the pilot.
"Oh wow, Prince Sahib must be here as well." He said to no one at all. He then turned to me and said in a calm tone "Let's go, and I've already sent for new clothes for you. There is no way you are going to disgrace me looking like that." He uttered. I simply found him boring and didn't say a thing. I just stood up and picked up my black backpack. I hanged it over my shoulder and took calm strides behind him as he walked out majestically. I could hear a little commotion coming from outside and that made me a bit alarmed. I wondered what was happening.
Come what may, we both walked down the stairs of the airplane calmly and my eyes fell upon the massive amount of cars and bodyguards standing outside. I turned to look at Haidar and he had a flaming smile on his face as he stared at the generation BMW that stood on the ground. The car opened and revealed a 7 feet tall Arab man who had full black beards. To say that I was shocked was an understatement, but my mouth was wide open at the moment as I watched the two of me hug each other. Haidar couldn't hide his happiness as he hugged the life out of the man.
"Haidar" The young man yelled. Haidar looked like a baby next to a tall dude.
"Damn, you look stunning bro!" Haidar commented on the young man who was putting on a white Jalabiya and a pair of black and white Jordans.
"Thank you, come on let's go. We'll stay at my House, You won't like the palace this season." The guy said to Haidar. They both ambulated towards the BMW. I felt really confused. I didn't know where to place myself. I immediately had to make awareness of my situation "Your Highness." I said and the two men turned around. The young man firstly scanned me from head to toe before turning to Haider with a quizzical expression. "Yeah, What is it Lailah?" He asked curtly.
"Where do I ride in?" I simply asked.
"Who is she?" The Emirates prince turned to ask.
"She's my..." He hesitated to say. I think he felt ashamed.
"Your girlfriend?. Oh My, you broke up with Nailah already." The man was quick to say.
"No, Ewww. She's my Bodyguard, I'll give you the full gist later." Haidar said. The guy simply nodded. I would be lying if what he had uttered didn't make me feel bad a bit. But well, I was his bodyguard after all.
"Sahib, can she sit in front?" He asked the man who I just found out his name to be sahib and he nodded calmly.
Haidar and Sahib sat at the back, while I took the front. I didn't utter a word to the driver. He gave me a quizzical look which I ignored though.
"Take us to my House please," Sahib said curtly to his driver. The man immediately sped off and other vehicles behind followed. I couldn't just help but take a glimpse of Haidar using the mirror in front. He was staring at me. I immediately averted his gaze and picked up my phone out of my pocket. The first thing that popped on my screen was,
