"uhhh jas_ mi_ine" I stammered.
"wait, if you are back, does that mean, Nathan is back too?" she asked excitedly
"wait_" I tried to talk, but she strode out of the room immediately.
"Nathan!" she said as she got to the living room. I followed her, hoping I will be able to get her attention. Layla and the rest must have heard the noise because when I got to the living room, they were all present.
"jasmine stop!" layla said, getting jasmine's attention.
"mom, where's nathan, since when did they arrive." she asked
"nathan's resting, don't bother him" layla said.
"yeah right, like nathan would ever go to bed without seeing me." she said with a beaming smile. looking at the scene I didn't know when I started to cry.
"he had an accident and is unconscious. now go to bed. I don't want any drama." layla said in the most uncaring manner. I know she isn't on good terms with her daughter, but this isn't the right way to break the news.
"you are joking right? tell me she is joking." jasmine said, directing the question to josh. the look josh gave her told her the answer to her question.
"I want to meet him." he said, trying her best to sound bold.
"sure," josh said, then took her hands and led her to where nathan was kept.
I walked in a few minutes later and found her resting her head on his bed and crying. I have to admit, no one looked ask devastated as she did, and seeing her in this condition hurt me a lot.
"how did this happen?" she asked josh.
"well he got stabbed by one of the guards in the castle." josh said.
"this is all because of you!" she said in the most frightening voice I have ever heard. and I didn't need any special informer to tell me that she was talking to me.
"he could have been safe here with us, but no! you little greedy brat had to drag him on your useless missions. you killed nathan!" she screamed and then stood up from beside him.
"I hate you kara I hate you! murderer" she yelled and then started walking towards me.
"okay easy now feisty pants." Josh said while grabbing her by the hands. but what she did next surprised both josh and I. she shoved him to the ground. then starting controlling the water that was in the barrel. she used it to create an ice cage and put josh in it.
then without any warning she strode towards me and hit me in the face.
then, using water, she raised me up high that I was floating and then forced me to bend in a position as if I was going to be crucified. I could feel my bone crack and it hurt really bad.
"let go of her jasmine" layla said.
"No! she deserves this, she is the one who should be laying dead and not Nathan." she said in that same creepy voice.
"jasmine please" Layla begged.
Max was also in the room, but he was caged just like josh. and all he could do was beg.
"what's wrong mom, or should i say layla. do you love this girl to the extent that you can beg me?" she said, and then started to slowly surround my body with ice.
"please listen to me" jasmine pleaded again, but the next thing jasmine did was make her an ice cage too.
"you want me to listen to you? why didn't you ever listen to me all these years. why didn't you love me? I've been with you for the past eighteen years of my life and not once have you cared for me. i thought it was because I was a vampire. but then you proved me wrong when this bitch, who is also a half vampire showed up and you decided to shower her with all the love and affection you denied me all these years. and now that same bitch killed the only person who has cared for me my whole life and you are begging for her sake. she's the reason Nathan is in this condition and you dare beg for her? you are pathetic Layla, pathetic. " even though jasmine said all of that in anger, I could still see the hurt in her eyes.
"jasmine I'm sorry, I didn't mean for any of this to happen I swear. " i said, my body was going numb because of the ice, i was shivering real bad. Jasmine wasn't even listening to our pleas. she kept on saying I killed nathan and that he didn't deserve any of this. the more she said all that, the more guilt I felt. after all, nathan was in this condition because of me.
"that's it, i've had enough of this shit." Max said and started melting the ice cage using fire . his element is fire. woah!
he then stood up and started attacking jasmine. she made the ice surrounding me even stronger and then, face max, also attacking him.
though max was obviously more skill full and experienced, jasmine was having the upper hand. well, i'm sure it's because she was fighting with anger and her element is water.
that's when I realized that her element is water, this whole time she have been fighting with us when she could actually be saving Nathan's life.
"Josh, she can save nathan" I said to josh who was sitting obediently in his cage. a huge smile appeared on his face after I said does words. I'm sure he also just realized that the solution to our problem was standing right in front of us. he melted his cage immediately also using fire. i guess fire is the most common element.
using his powers, he also set me free .
"Jasmine wait!" i said trying to stop her from ending max's life. jasmine, who just noticed that I was free left max and faced me. she held my throat and started choking me.
I was trying to speak to her, but it was hopeless.

"Nathan isn't dead! and you are the only person that can save him." josh said.
"what?" she asked as she slowly let go of me.
