"This is hopeless nathan, I'm never going to get it" i yelled in frustration. i have been trying to move a dumb rock for hours now. it was getting late, and i felt soo sleepy.
"okay, princess, just go to bed. we will try again tomorrow before leaving. and if it dosen't work, we will try a new element, we will try AIR." Nathan said, and i agreed with him, but, I didn't like the sound of AIR, I want to try water instead, water sounds way cooler, though i feel a bit disappointed, that my element wasn't fire or earth. those two are the coolest i bet.
"not really, you see, the thing is, every element has it uniqueness, so i believe non is cooler than the other." he started.
"but water is believed to be the strongest and undefeatable, people with the element of water can freeze things, and as we all know, ice is a very dangerous weapon. but the water element is also very rare, mostly found in the royal family. right now only prince Ardelean has water powers in all of the black coven empire. so, trying water will just be time wasting, we will try air first, then water. now good night princess." he said, and we all went to our respective sleeping bags.

I laid there for hours without being able to sleep, the only thought on my mind was if i will be able to make it. the castle was just a days ride ahead and I still don't know how to use any power. what if i end up messing up and failing max and kendra? I'm all they have now and i am not even competent. uhh God.
"chill and go to sleep princess, your thoughts are noisy and i'm not able to sleep." nathan fired.
"that's what you get for eves dropping!" I fired back. and we both laughed in unison.
I gotta admit, nathan and I are becoming really close, and right now I can't even imagine life without him.

it's afternoon already and we haven't covered even half the distance we were supposed to. that was mainly my fault, I told nathan I wouldn't be leaving the campsite until I am able to figure out what my element is.
that ended up being a freaking waste of time because after trying everything, I still couldn't do anything, not water, not earth, not fire and not even air.
that hurt me badly, and all nathan could say was that, i should just let the powers be and they will show their selves to me when i least expect it.
well, I have been trying all day to forget about it, to not expect it, but it's like, so impossible. I feel like crying right now, i'm not used to failing, I always get things right after the first few tries, so this is like the most challenging assignment of my life.
"since we wasted a lot of time today, we won't get to the castle till tomorrow, let's try our best to get there early, when the vampires are weak." nathan said from behind. he was the one riding so i had to sit in front so I won't fall.
"but nathan, if vampires are weak at dawn, wouldn't that make you weak too?" i asked. cause we have been travelling by day and resting at night, dosen't that make him feel uncomfortable. I know he uses some weird substance to protect his skin and eyes from burning, but that dosen't feel enough.
"yes, it does make me weak, but that's, the only way if we want to play safe. that's again one of the reasons you should go get max, you'll be stronger than the rest of us since you still have some part of you that is human." he said and that made me smile a bit. for the first time today.

Night fell real quick and we set up the fire for the night.
"we should learn other general vampire powers now, shall we?" Nathan's voice echoed from where he was sitting, and this brought joy to my heart. I bet nathan noticed i have been down all day, maybe that's why he decided to lighten my mood.
"okay now, concentrate" he started
"ughhhh does everything have to start with concentrate? monk nathan" i said in a mocking tone, cutting him off.
"well, yeah, everything in life needs concentration princess. now let's, start with the easiest one, teleporting." he said.
"teleporting is the easiest? that dosen't sound good." i said
"now, just look at the stream behind those trees" he said, totally ignoring my question.
i turned to see the stream he was talking about.
" yeah, i see it." i said after spotting the stream.
"now imagine you are there, put your mind and focus on being there" he said, i didn't reply, instead i looked straight ahead and tried to stay focused.
"now go" he said loudly so, i started walking towards the stream.
"noo no no kara! not like that, go as in with your mind." he said angrily.
"oh sorry," i said, then closed my eyes and puff, i apeared in the stream!
"good! now come back " he yelled. and i appeared in front of him immediately.
i jumped and hugged him excitedly.
"i did it! i did it nathan! it felt soo nice."
"i knew you could do it princess." he said.
"uhmm kara?" he said looking and me weirdly, and that is when i noticed i was hugging him with wet clothes.
God! we didn't even travel with extra clothing, and in was freezing cold.
"here," nathan said after taking off his shirt. he gave it to me and the used his earth power to build a barrier between us. i took off what i was wearing and put on his shirt. it smelled so nice ypu wouldn't believe he has been wearing it for 3 days straight." nathan, do vampires shower?" i asked even though it didn't seem right.
