THE ANNIVERSARY
Bill's car drove into the event center some minutes later as it pulled up under the car garage.
"Remember what I told you."
Bill said and Lora nodded slightly as she grabbed a bouquet from the seat. Her face is expressionless. They alighted from the car and gazed around the building. The decorator has done a good and clean job more than he had expected. Without taking much time, Bill curved his right arm in the form of * shall we?* and smart enough, Lora understood as she fixed her hand into his, making their step gingerly through the decorated walkway.
On getting in, the atmosphere was cordial that it grinned at them. The hall was large enough to accommodate 2000 people and even more that were yet to come. The settings of the seats and tables, conjoined with the flowers surrounding them made it superb. Well, the Blair's had spent millions in ordering these and as it said, money kills good food.
Still holding each other pretentiously, they walked in and Lora handed the flowers to the well-to-do celebrants, Mr. and Mrs. Blair while they stood and held each other lovely by a corner receiving a *happy anniversary* and gifts from invitees.
"Please accept these flowers with the compliment of the manager Bill and his lovely wife. Happy anniversary!"
Bill said and smiled.
"I don't think there was any need to offer flowers as a gift while you sell them....it's no way compared with the ones we've ordered for decorations. But thanks anyway."
Mr. Blair said jokingly and laughed but Bill found it offensive.
"Your wife's very pretty and young." Mrs. Blair complimented. "Wife, wot's your name?"
"It's Lora." She smiled.
"Humm Lora." She said caressing her arm. "You've got such wonderful smiles and I know ur husband must be happy to have a beautiful lady like you."
Her gaze shifted to Bill who smiled less.
"You both look happy together but why don't you have kids?"
This question came like thunder to them as they both looked at each other, blinking their eyes uncontrollably and uncomfortably. To Bill, these couples were asking more than enough questions and crossing their limits already. He wondered what else they wanted to know that would warrant such a big package.
"Well, we..."
*Good day beautiful ladies and
gentlemen, may we now welcome our lovely celebrants to offer what they have.*
A voice from the stage announced cutting in on their conversation.
"Honey, our attention is needed. We should get going."
Mr. Blair said to his wife as they based Bill and Lora bye, telling them that they would see later, and instantly, Bill flung Lora's hand out of his arm until it was needed again.
PARTY TIME
The Blair were applauded as they came on stage, holding each other in an adorable grip that despite their age, still made the youth feel like getting married. As this went on, Bill and Lora headed to the audience floor and occupied two seats arranged for couples as they watched the Blairs on stage.
