The continuous sound from Fred’s ringing phone woke him up from sleep
He gently stood up then helped Cassy to lie down
Before picking up his ringing phone from the table.
“Dad ?” Fred asked not believing the identity of the caller . As his father Mr Paul rarely calls
And the few times he had called where all commands regarding serious issues.
Taking a glance at Cassy who was sleeping peacefully on the couch Fred quickly walked to the kitchen in order not to wake Cassy and of cause for privacy.
“Dad am listening “ Fred said immediately he pressed the green button
“ son is that how to answer your father’s phone call “ Mr Paul asked at the other end
“ dad it’s not like you called to ask about me or do things that will make me happy so just go straight to the point it’s late and I need to sleep “ Fred replied irritatedly
He didn’t understand why his father would ask such a question when he had always warn him not to answer his calls with greeting
“ look son I hate it when I waste my time to call you and then the first thing you do is greet me i didn’t call to hear your greeting I called for a serious matter and if am in need of greetings I have a lot of people that I could get it from “ mr Paul’s words echoed in Fred’s head
Those words wasn’t said once but they were said multiple times and now he was used to not greeting him he suddenly wants his greeting lol.
“ am sorry son some things are better off unsaid “ mr paul said obviously hurt but he couldn’t blame Fred as he started everything first .
“ whatever “ Fred replied nonchalantly
“ I want to see you at my place tomorrow there are things you should be aware of and I think now is the time “ mr paul said then disconnected the call without waiting for Fred’s reply
“ just like always “ Fred complained through gritted teeth .
The next day fred left very early to mr Paul’s place
“ have a sit “ mr paul said gesturing him to sit on one of the couch in the sitting room
“You said you wanted to see me “ Fred reminded impatiently as he didn’t want to spend much time at mr Paul’s place.
“ yes but before then , do you care for a drink ?” Mr Paul asked to Fred’s disbelief
“Dad just go straight to the point “Fred said pissed off
As he didn’t understand the reasons for his father’s change of attitude towards him
In fact when did he start entertaining him ?
“son I don't blame you because I started everything first i know you are angry with me but trust me I did everything for your own good everything I could do everything I could reach my hands to in order to protect you that's what I did and it was all for you!” Mr Paul said with a cracked voice
“But I think it's time you know the truth the whole truth about your very existence so get ready you are going somewhere where your whole life started from because I can't explain everything to you . you need to know and see things by yourself i've booked a flight for you all you need now is go pack few of your things in preparation for tomorrow because you're leaving tomorrow . going somewhere where all the questions of your existence lies “ Mr. Paul said walking away.
Without waiting for Fred’s reply .
anyway fred was used to such attitude from him. Though fred had a lot of question that needed answers but he knows that is Mr. paul is not ready to answer any of his questions so the best thing He could do right now is to go home , get his stuffs ready in preparation for tomorrow As he believes that all his questions will be answered where ever he was going the next day .

Immediately fred got home he meet Cassy making breakfast in the kitchen
“ hey how you doing” Fred asked Standing at the door
“I'm fine .I thought you’ve left for work so I was making breakfast for myself but since you're here I'll make for both of us “ Cassy said with a smile plastered on her face .
Though Fred was in a bad mood ,but he found himself smiling
“ why does she always smile “ Fred asked in a low tone that only he could hear
“ Okay suit yourself i have a lot of work to do “ Fred said turning to leave
“ and you didn’t go the the office today why?”Cassy asked pouring warm water from the kettle into a jug
“ nothing o….h that reminds me I will be traveling tomorrow so I need you to take care of the house in my absence I don't know when I'll be coming back but I don’t think It will be up to a week as I have work here that needs my attention “fred informed Cassy before leaving the kitchen
Fred walked to his bedroom as he needed to put a lot of things in place in preparation for tomorrow . Bringing out a small traveling bag he started arranging few of his clothes inside.
“Breakfast is ready “ Cassy informed opening the bedroom door then walked in with a tray
“you're getting your stuffs ready o…h lonely me I'll be all alone in this big house but what About your wife is she aware and what if she walks in here you know my existence is still a secret for now “ Cassy complained worriedly
“or the travel is your honeymoon in disguise “ Cassy asked rolling her eyes
“ for a moment I thought you won’t stop talking “ Fred said massaging his temple
“ about my wife I'll take care of that and for your information this has nothing to do with any honey moon “ Fred replied walking towards her
“ let me help you with that “ Fred said taking the tray from her .
“ thank you I almost forgot that I was carrying something “ Cassy said rubbing her palms together
“ tea , scrambled egg and bread “ Fred listed what was in the tray
“ let’s eat am starving “ Fred added sitting on the floor
“ alright “ Cassy said joining him on the floor
