"Sanna! Sumi!"
I turned to the person who called us and saw Ara, my girl best friend.
We have known each other since elementary days so he knows about Mnemosyne and my being a drummer.
I met him because he was clingy to his cousin Drek and like me he didn't want to study here either.
But he forced himself just to be with me.
He immediately grabbed my arm when he got close to us.
"I heard the news," he said.
"Which of the news I know has been picked up by your antenna?"
"A band will have a mini concert here at our school," he said happily. "And what's okay here is that the school is open for outsiders who can sell tickets."
"What the hell?" I immediately glanced at Sumi and as expected, Ara's words seemed to get her attention.
"Really? When is that band concert?" Sumi said happily.
"Next month is after our finals. It's like a year-end celebration, so everyone is excited," he explained. "The school will also organize a party for everyone going to the concert and it is required that we have date."
"Oh no," Sumi and I both said and looked at each other.
Of course, Uncle Larry doesn't want her getting close to the boys and if she violates that, he will lock her up in their house again.
And what's worse is that if Sumi doesn't go, I'll be forced to not go to join them because I'm the reason why she started to be curious about what's going on outside.
"Oh, I forgot you can't be there." Ara said sadly. "But why don't you try to say goodbye to Uncle Larry. It would be better if you tell him sooner so that if he doesn't agree, we can come up with another way in the next few days to change his mind."
Sumi and I looked at each other and sighed.
"Yeah, that's probably what we'll do," I said.
We first took Sumi to her classroom because our class was different from hers and we walked to our room.
"Sanna, we should do our best to get Uncle Larry to agree. You need to go especially because you are important that night." said Ara, frowning at me.
"What do you mean?"
"Just ask your brother." He looked away from me and sighed. "He'd better explain so you don't get too beastmode." And he entered the room first.
I just scratched my head but Ara's actions are starting to play in my mind.
I entered our room and Yvette, the president of the student council of St. Claire University so I immediately sat down.
"Since everyone is here, I will tell you some details for the mini concert slash year end party next month," said Yvette. "Your class will be assigned to decorate the entire gymnasium where the event will be held. ."
If they announce it this early, I'm sure it won't just be a mini concert that night.
Because they are really preparing.
"The band that will perform the concert is not that famous yet but I can say that they are good in the field of music so it will be worth it for you to buy a ticket." Yvette added. "Besides, the sale of this will go to five charity institutions that the band can choose, so you've enjoyed it, you've even helped."
"What's the name of that band?" asked one of my classmates.
"The Mnemosyne."
My eyes widened at what I heard. Shit!
"They only play at selected events and bars and this is the first time they will have a concert in another school so we should just prepare for that," he said. "Two of their members will come to give some details that will be needed we're decorating the whole place and just now, I'm telling you to behave while they're here, okay?"
"Yes, Yvette."
"Anyway, Sanna." Yvette turned to me after she mentioned my name. "They'll be here the next day and you'll be the one to talk to them, okay?"
"Huh? Ah, okay," I said as I secretly looked at Ara who immediately avoided looking at me.
It's really here later! I wish I had been told earlier before I was surprised by this announcement.
"So, that's all for now. Think of a possible theme for the year end party." Yvette also left immediately.
While I was about to get up to talk to Ara but our teacher had already arrived so I didn't continue.
I will talk to him later at lunchtime.
________
I shouldn't have put off talking to Ara.
Did the witch disappear so quickly after the class was dismissed? And I don't know where else he wore it.
He's obviously avoiding me because he knows he's guilty of me.
So after I dropped off Sumi, I immediately went home.
I'll just come back tonight to talk to Uncle Larry about the upcoming school party but for now I have to talk to Sein first.
I'm not happy with the stupidity of those men.
When I got home, I immediately went straight to his room and as soon as the door opened, I immediately punched him.
But he managed to catch my fist before it hit his face. "Damn! I almost did, huh!" He let go of me and walked away from me. "What's your trip and you're immediately met with a blow?"
"Your nonsense isn't funny huh!" I snorted at him."Why will Mnemosyne have a concert at our school?" I was about to hit him but he immediately grabbed my hand and pushed me to sit on his sofa.
"Calm down first, will you?" He ruffled his hair and looked at me. "First of all, I didn't plan that concert, so don't be mad at me. I was also surprised when Kenneth told me that when I woke up. Second, what's wrong if we do a concert at your school. You're not they will recognize."
"Sein, it's hard to gamble on that matter. What if someone finds out. And you know I can't leave Sumi's side especially since the school is open that day." I sighed. "I'm not sure if I can go because we haven't said goodbye to Uncle Larry yet. What if he doesn't agree? Well, I can't go because Sumi will definitely force me to stay at their house so she won't be bored. "
She ruffled her hair again and sat next to me. "I really don't understand why you are sacrificing so much for Sumi," he said. "You are really able to work hard like that just to make sure that her Daddy doesn't lock her up again."
"He's my friend and you know I'm his only friend so I'm doing everything I can to help him anyway," I said. "You would definitely do the same if one of your friends was in his situation."
He sighed again and lay down on my lap. "Daddy."
I frowned. "What's wrong with Daddy?"
"He's the reason why the band will have a mini-concert." he said. "He also decided to do it at your school so you won't be hassled because you're at the venue itself."
"Why did Daddy do that?"
"He knows how much you love the bandana and they support it. But he is annoyed by the way you limit yourself to do the thing you want so he decided to intervene."
I couldn't answer because I didn't know what to answer.
"It's your choice if you play that day. We'll bring someone to replace you just in case," he said and stood up. "But can you handle Daddy being sad because you're afraid someone will notice that you're with us in the band?"
