He turns the laptop and the router off to save energy, not knowing how long the power will take to come on. He packs it back into the save and closes the save. He goes to his father’s closet in the master bedroom to find some clothing to wear. He remembers Blanchette’s scooter that is still on the side of the road. Feeling restless he takes a run to the path where the scooter is. It took him less than 5 minutes to get there using his Vampire speed. Normally it takes a 30min drive to get to Elizabeth’s territory. He started to push the scooter towards Blanchette’s house instead of the Cabin. After a minute of pushing, he decided to test his strength and lifts the scooter up. It is so easy. He carried the scooter above his head and ran with his Vampire speed the house. He left the scooter in front of the house and started to walk back to his family home.
He does not feel tired but suddenly, he felt normal again. He could feel a bit of sensitivity from the rising sun, but it did not hurt him. The moment he tried to use his Vampire speed his skin took fire; it is the most terrible pain he has ever felt but as soon as he stops the fire goes away. He quickly figured that he will be able to exist in daylight if he does not turn into a Vampire. He wondered if he will be able to shift into a werewolf as he knows that in his werewolf form he is fast; not as fast as a vampire but way faster than a human. He took shelter into bushes and with great effort shifted into his werewolf form. When he got to his family home he went back to his fathers’ study to see if he can find anything on Vampires and Hybrids.
He searches the rows of bookshelves but all he could find are books labeled Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Ghost, and Angles.
Blanchette wakes up from the ringing house phone. She wonders to her herself why on earth her grandmother being so modern doesn’t own a cell phone. She gets out of bed and picks up the pone that is on the dressing table. “Hello, Perrault residence,” she answers with a yawn.
“Honey, are you ok?” her mother’s panicked voice came through from the other side. She was about to answer when her mother continued sounding relieved.
“Your scooter is standing outside the house. I tried calling you on your cell phone but it just rings,” her mother says.
“My phone is on silent. Yesterday on my way to granny my scooter blew a tire,” she was not finished when her mother interrupted again.
“Are you ok?! Did you get hurt?” her mother asks sounding a bit panicked.
“I am fine, I was not too far away from granny,” she reassures her mother. “I don’t know how my scooter got back to the house thou.”
“Sammie is in hospital, she got attacked by a wolf,” her mother informs her.
“What?! How is that even possible?!” Blanchette asks worried, thinking about the wolf she encountered. She hears breathing on the phone. “Granny? Are you listening?” Blanchette asks out to her grandmother.
“Yes, I told you that wolf is dangerous!” her grandmother let slip.
“What wolf? Did you see a wolf?” her mother ask, almost yelling.
“Yes, I did but I don’t think it is the same one. The one I met was friendly,” she tries to calm her mother down.
“Get ready, I am picking you up so that we can get the story from your friend, Sammie,” her mother says with an urgent tone.
Blanchette hanged up leaving her mother and grandmother to talk. After a quick shower, Blanchette had a look in her grandmother's fridge for a quick bite. Her grandmother's fridge is always full of delicious baked things.
As she is about to reach for a muffin she hears her mother's Ford Cortina honking outside. Blanchette grabs two muffins, one for her and one for her mother, knowing that if she does not take one for her mother that her mother will just take hers.
“Bye granny, see you later!” Blanchette calls out to her grandmother.
“Mom, seriously, you have so much money yet you choose to drive this piece of junk,” Blanchette got into the car that she is not really fond of. Blanchette might be a bit of a petrol-head but she is more into modern sports cars and motorbikes and off-road things like rally cars and scramblers.
Blanchette’s mom takes the muffin from her and takes a big bite, “hold this,” she says with a mouth full passing the muffin back to Blanchette so that she can drive. On their way to the hospital, Blanchette feeds her the muffin. By the time they got to the hospital, Sammie was already released and wheeled out sitting in a wheelchair.
“Sammie! Are you ok? Why are you in a wheelchair?” Blanchette bends down to hug her best friend. Samantha’s looks are the opposite of Blanchette’s. Samantha has strawberry blond hair and brown eyes where Blanchette is a brunette with hazel eyes.
“Yeah, I am fine. Hospital policy to be wheeled out,” Samantha says rolling her eyes.
“Hi Mrs. Brown,” Blanchette greets Samantha’s mother.
“Hello dear, where is your mom?”
“Looking for a parking spot. She drives that large Ford Cortina, yet after all these years she struggles to park it,” Blanchette laughs, making Mrs. Brown and Samantha laugh too.
As they reach the exit of the hospital, Blanchette's mother finally came in, "how are you dear? Are you ok?"
"Hi, yes I am fine."
"Mom I am going home with Sammie if that is ok?" Blanchette bats her eyes at her mother.
"Sure, but no walking around please."
"I will make sure they stay at the house, will drop her off later," Mrs. Brown promise and they took their leave.
