"I can't afford the talent fee of Jason Magbanua. That's why a grand wedding would still be a dream. If I didn't love Carl enough, I would really find a rich husband-to-be."

"That's why you have to relax, Miles," Drew commented from the driver's seat. Drew is their co-worker, though he didn't look like a simple employee at a flower shop. He looked like he was the owner with how neat and handsome he was. "You don't need to get intimidated because you're prettier than these flowers we're going to deliver," he said, which caused Miles and Joanne to frown.

"You're so corny, Drew!" Joanne hit the guy's shoulder. "I know that you're not good with words, but your flattery makes us cringe. You sounded like an elementary poet. With those kinds of pick-up lines, how do you expect Miles to say yes to your courting? This is not a rom-com series, so stop saying those cheesy words from the script. You're not an actor. Be natural, okay? I'm rooting for you, so be good with making yourself smoother."

It's Miles turn to hit Joanne's shoulder. "What are you talking about? Drew is not courting me."

"Not yet. Because he's too nervous."

"Thank you for building me up, Joanne. That really helps a lot," Drew said sarcastically. He then turned to her. "Don't believe her, Miles. I'm not a dork."

"You're not a dork and I'm not a girl," Joanne once again teased.

"Oh, so now you admit that you had a sex change," Drew took revenge. Joanne pounded his back when he got on her nerves.

Miles just broke the quarrel in the middle because Drew was driving.

"Oh my god, this subdivision is for the rich but it feels like a ghost town," Joanne commented after a while. "There's not even a barking of the dog. Do people really live in those big mansions? Can they spare a space for the unfortunate?"

The windshield was down, and the cold air made Miles tremble a bit.

"In fairness, the road here is wider than the main road in Manila. I never thought a beautiful landscape like this existed here in Makati. We're like transported to the sub-urbs of America. Even the European lamp post looks elegant and expensive."

"Joanne, do you know the client of the boss personally?" Miles asked in curiosity.

"I encountered her in the shop only once. She looks simple but pretty. She didn't look like a spoiled rich girl. Here's the name on the contract." Joanne indicated the paper in the clipboard she had taken. "Pheobe Alejano."

"Guys, we're here," Drew announced that caught their attention.

Both Miles and Joanne held their breath when the van parked in front of a very big mansion. It looks bigger than the Malacañang palace.

"Whoa, it's like a national museum," Joanne uttered in amazement. "Is the owner a curator or something?"

After Drew double checked the address, he pushed the button on the door bell. A voice on the intercom suddenly spoke and asked what they need. When they said that they were from the flower delivery, the tall electronic gate automatically opened.

They were welcomed by a spacious lawn with an interesting landscape. The ground is covered with bricks and bermuda grass. The surroundings are full of plants and trees. There were beautiful garlands hanging from the trees as decorations, with bright lights. In the center, the fountain looks so breathtaking with underwater LED lights dancing with the rhythm of the water.

In the right corner, there's a big gazebo with colorful lights bind on it. But it looks like the event is not a garden wedding since there were no guests outside. Two men wearing suits guided them inside when they entered their vehicle in the parking area. They were apparently security escorts. Their van appeared like a tin can in the row of luxury cars parked over there.

Miles became conscious when she noticed the semi-formal attire of the guests when they entered the porch. The vast reception area looks like the lounge of a five-star hotel. There was a red carpet on the floor, and the big crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling seemed like shining diamonds. The reception was full of different kinds of flowers like freesia, orange blossom, white blossom, roses, and tulips. It's obvious that those flowers came from expensive flower shops. But the flowers they brought will also not lose in terms of beauty. They have different breeds of roses, lily of the valley, daphnes, and lilacs.

The wedding organizer must have really wanted to fill the venue with flowers. They were given a task the moment the wedding coordinator saw them. She instructed them where to put the flowers and what kind of arrangement she wanted. The maids are also busy decorating the aisle and arranging things in the lounge. There are also waiters and bartenders on an open counter where the mini-bar and buffet table are, serving delectable dishes and expensive alcohol.

"Can you bring the remaining flowers into the hallway? The vases there are empty. Put flowers on the second floor too," the wedding coordinator commanded them after they arranged the flowers on an ark that the groom and bride would pass through. "Hurry up because the ceremony will start in thirty minutes. Everything should be prepared when the groom and bride arrive."

Miles responded rapidly. "Where are the stairs that lead to the second floor?" she asked a maid who she bumped into the hallway.

"In the living area over there after you pass through the music room. Go left, then just go straight ahead," the maid answered in monotone. Miles thanked her, then she carried the basket of flowers that were full of red roses in that direction.

"Did you notice the maids in here? They're like robots. They are not even smiling or accommodating. I'm so intimidated with their poker face," Joanne whispered in Miles' ears while they were walking. "Their uniforms look expensive too. Should I apply here? How much do you think is their wage?"

Miles elbowed Joanne. "Shhhh! Someone can hear you," she rebuked her friend. "I'll be doing upstairs. You arrange in here, okay?" Miles volunteered because she knew Joanne would complain about having to climb the stairs while carrying the basket of flowers.
