Raven couldn't do anything but take out what Ramses asked. Ramses took the dagger and removed its sheath. The blade gleamed when the moonlight hit its sharpness. The blade was made of blue krystal. And that crystal was blessed by many compelling priestesses.
Ramses turned to the old butler. "To my remaining retainers, I want to give them all of my assets and properties. Split it equally for all of you. Can you handle it, Julio?"
"Señor..." Julio looked at him with a painful expression before he nodded with understanding and conviction. "I will do everything I can to complete my last task, Señor. You can count on me and rest your mind at ease."
"I'm glad that you didn't accept my offer to become my servant. That position is still vacant because I didn't find anyone suitable other than you, Julio. But in the end, your rejection saved your life countless times and made you live longer as a human. I'm glad that you chose the right decision."
The old butler shook his head. "I have no idea what's right or what's wrong for you and me, Señor. All I know is I owe my life to you and everything I have obtained in this life. I didn't accept your offer back then because I believed that there would be someone more suitable than me. Maybe he or she hasn't been born yet. You have a long way ahead, Señor and I really wish that there would be someone who could stay by your side to accompany you and give you a deeper understanding than anyone beside you right now."
Ramses grasped the old butler's shoulders. "Thank you, Julio. Thank you for everything."
"Is this going to be the last time I see you, Señor?"
Ramses nodded his head with a tinge of sadness. " I don't know how long I will sleep after this. It can take fifty years or more."
"If I'm still alive when that time comes, can you spare a moment for me, Señor? I can only be at ease when I see you have awakened from slumber."
"I will, Julio. I will." He hugged the old butler and tapped his back. He turned around after that and went straight to the door of the mansion at the back. When he was inside, he could hear the violent and angry growl of his family. They were like wild and dangerous animals, with their bloodshot eyes glaring at his direction.
Their madness was not strange because the whole mansion was covered by a spell seal that could prevent them from getting out. Ramses trapped them inside. And he had no plans to let anyone out until the entire place was charred.
"Damn you, Ramses! You really want to kill us all?!" Leonardo shouted. "After we served you and almost revered you, this is how you are going to pay us?!"
"I didn't ask you to serve me. What I wanted from all of you was your presence beside me. I just wanted to live with all of you," he conveyed calmly.
"And that's what we did, didn't we?" Benvorio answered with deep resentment.
"We didn't abandon you! You were the one who deserted us!" Arianna seconded.
He looked at them with a blank face, colder than usual. "If I let all of you live, there's no difference between allowing those innocent humans to die."
"Are those humans more important to you than us?" Minerva questioned.
"I can't compare the lives of every being that surrounds me. I have no right since I am an immortal. That's the thing I wanted you to understand because, like me, you were once humans. If bloodshed is needed to save those lives, I would not hesitate to get rid of the cause of the problem. I will eliminate anyone. Even all of you."
Ramses heard them curse him. They attacked him all at once. Each of their assaults didn't bother Ramses. He avoided them easily, like he was just playing around. Reading their moves was not hard because he is their sovereign. He first grabbed the arm of Gaspar. He stabbed the Sapphrion on his chest like he was just a cushion. Gaspar's body turned to ash with just the blink of an eye.
The rest of Ramses' family howled in fear. All of them stepped back when they saw what that mysterious dagger could do. No one from his clan knew the existence of that dagger except for Raven. In Ramses' case, he could actually destroy his enemies just by using his bare hands.
But he chose to use the dagger because it symbolized divine retribution for the sinners. If they could pay for their sins with that punishment, they would not be forever condemned. They would attain forgiveness and have the chance again to be reborn as humans.
Ramses acted like a deaf person in his never-ending swaying of Sapphrion. Second. Third. Fourth. Fifth. He didn't listen to their pleads. All of his brethren became ashes in just a matter of seconds. He killed them with his own hands. It's as if there were added loads on his shoulders after a while.
Ramses leaves in front of the mansion. He looked up at the light of the full moon. He felt drained and exhausted somehow. How long will I have to do this? Just how long will I have to endure this kind of torture?
He took an hourglass from inside the pocket of his pants. You would notice that there's a flower growing inside that stopped the sand from falling. It was a frozen blue rose. A blue rose that signified a promise of forever. Therefore, it was a frozen promise of forever.
That's the reason why he's still alive, and that's also the reason why he could not die. Everything around him stopped when the flower froze and time abandoned his whole existence. A woman gave him that curse. A woman who wanted him to live.
But I'm really tired of living. You aren't even here, so what's the point of all of this?
Ramses raised the Sapphrion in his hand and looked at the dagger with resolution. It was said that the dagger could kill anyone, even gods. He got a firm hold of it and he pierced it through his chest without even a hint of hesitation. He could feel the pain tingling on his flesh, but the dagger didn't reach his heart. There was a strong force which repelled the blade away from his body. Sapphrion flew away.
