I frowned as I read the paper that my sister had left for me to cook and I almost dropped my shoulder at what she had written. Besides the amount written is not yet clear. Her penmanship is giving me a headache. And what’s with the ‘do you buy noodles?’
Her letter is so pure, and very general, there is nothing no specific words for the ingredients. My forehead wrinkled even more after reading at the end that I am supposed to cook it all.
Urgh!
Will I be the one to buy and then I will be the one to cook as well?
Shaking, I put away the food and then picked up my wallet and cellphone.
I am not a super human to do all of those cooking, and so, I asked for help to Nina. I prepared my wide smile after she opened the door. I know then she have an idea why I am in front of her door steps.
"Celcel, why?" her question.
Embarrassed, I forced myself to smile. I'm not happy with Jelly and I'm sure she won't help me, so Nina would do.
"Uhm, Nina. I would like to ask for your help to shop and cook. Aunty's guests will come again." I even bit my lower lip out of embarrassment.
I held my breath after she nodded and joined me. We spent over an hour shopping and buying everything. I'm not good at the ingredients, especially the small details. You can only expect me to buy what is needed on paper.
"Celcel, will you cook your grill later?" sister Nina asked.
From the preparing rice I peeked at her marinated chicken. I nodded before putting it in the empty refrigerator that my Mom inherited from my grandmother.
The last spoon and fork were in order when I heard Aunty's voice. My chest throbbed and I almost threw the last spoon I put on the floor, thankfully I caught it up.
I quickly arranged my hair and even glanced at the clothes I was wearing before heading straight to the living room.
Why am I even fixing it? Like as if they will be bothered with how I look.
"Celcel, where is Brother Mauricio?" Aunty asked.
She was still standing in the doorway and fanning with her own hand.
“Bless, Aunty. Dad is also coming, he just talked to someone about fixing the fishery. Cecilia, on the other hand, is still at work,” I answered continuously.
I folded my palms behind my back and happily waited for her answer.
“Is that so? All right, have you cooked yet, Celcel? I would have fed the guests,” she asked calmly and glanced at the terrace.
"Yes, Aunt. It's fixed. ” I even smiled broadly.
"Thank you, Cel." She stroked my hair before calling the her comrades.
I just stood in the middle of the living room and waited for the guests to enter. My heart almost pounded in my chest with excitement.
West came in first and I just smiled a little, he also smiled back. Another followed with yellow hair, blue eyes, a pointed nose and small lips. I looked at him carefully, he had tattoos on the neck, some butterflies and animals.
He looks so cool, but not my type. I can't help but compare him to Callisto who looks clean.
They were both still wearing longsleeves, he just nodded at me before he leaned over West, near the path to the kitchen.
Aunty came in last to talk to Callisto who was typing on his phone. I raised an eyebrow and couldn't help but think that he might be chatting with Jelly.
I automatically looked down at what he was wearing. He doesn’t look like a farmer with his black polo-shirt. The first three buttons were still open which peeked a little at his elegant chest. Even his white fitted jeans shouts branded.
I thought he is a farmer?
Even though I thought he was with them now, I was still a little surprised. Isn't he busy on his farm?
Before I could remove my gaze, he lifted his gaze from his cellphone to mine. He did even checked me from head to toe.
I looked away, remembering what I was wearing, and that wasn't rude. My fitted short-sleeve white shirt is enough to hug my body, even my red mid-thigh short does not look flirty. I know that my fair white skin came out, especially my legs.
To hide my shyness, I greeted him, recognizing his presence.
"H-ello?" I was a little hesitant to greet him. I'm not sure yet because he might not be able to answer.
"Hi," he said simply before turning to West.
I cringed because of that. I don’t know if I will get hurt or not. We're not close but it id big deal for me that he said only 'hi', while to Jelly, he can still chat her.
“Hija, later we will talk about the business that your dad wants. Let's just feed them first and then wait for your father before we talk. ” Aunty approached West.
I just nodded and let them into the kitchen, only Callisto and I were left in the living room. I tried to calm down and act normal but when I turned around, he moved a little closer to my face.
"Pack your things," he whispered to me as if only wind had passed through the softness of his voice.
I held my breath because of that. He doesn’t even explain why. What he said kept bothering me until Dad came and talked to me in the living room.
"Do you want to franchise a poultry farm?" serious question from the man who have many tattoos.
Next to him were West, and Callisto was in front of my Dad, and I sitting in one chair each, Aunty was standing leaning on the side of Dad's chair.
Why do I have this bad feeling about this? I decided to let someone teach me how to do poultry but now that we are talking about it, I am even more nervous.
