"Celcel, why are you so early?" it was Aunty.
I blinked and didn't look at Aunty who's looking at me. Her eyebrow was slightly raised at me.
"I have a lot to do," I replied to her.
I was nervous that he might catch me staring at her guest, I didn't wait for what she would say and just went to the table to make coffee but I saw something else.
Chocolate.
I glanced at the visitor again. He was handsome, dark hair, not too brown, his skin was still white or because it was just dawn and the light was dim here in the kitchen. The eyebrows and eyelashes are just right, the nose is also sharp. Wrong, it was really sharp.
He cleared his throat and glanced back at me before sipping on his cup of coffee again. The teasing grin played on his reddish and thin lips. I seemed to come to my senses and averted my eyes. That's when I met my aunt's eyes with comfort and amusement. It's as if she's saying it's late but not locked up. There is no escape.
I felt bother that I bit my lip so hard and shook my head and continued making chocolate. I lost sight of the coffee and was brought to his eyes chocolate.
“Do I have a place here? I mean, a place where I can open my business? ”
I wanted to look back at him again but I restrained myself. His voice captivates me. I took a deep breath and quickly left the kitchen.
"Talk to Callisto later!" aunt shouted from the kitchen.
I was even more embarrassed and walked straight to the terrace, I almost hit the door!
What is it, Celeste? Keep calm.
I think it's another problem to see him in the kitchen. I lost more and more focus on typing and my mind keeps on traveling to the kitchen, to him.
According to Manansala (2019), life is- “
"Research?"
I almost stiffened at his voice from my behind. I quickly tilted my head towards his direction. My eyes widened when I saw he was just on my side and already leaning at the side of the table where my laptop is. I held my breath and couldn't believe he was so close.
"What are you doing?!" I simply shout angrily.
My chest was still pounding in shock and I was still embarrassed by what had happened earlier.
"Researcher?" he asked curiously as his gaze was on my open laptop.
"Research student but this is not mine, I was just asked to do it," I replied lazily. Forced to hide the shock.
I continued typing even though sometimes the letter I was typing was wrong. Hoping that he will left my mind but the it keeps thinking about him being by my side. I glanced at him again who was still looking around and didn't seem to feel like I was losing myself.
"Jelly is your cousin, right?"
I almost shut down the laptop when he suddenly spoke and mentioned Jelly.
“Why? You like her? ” I raised my eyebrow.
I smiled bitterly. Just like last night I knew Jelly got his attention.
I was shaken up and automatically closed my documents tab and went to my social media account. Maybe it's not bad to see if he also has an account.
“You didn’t answer my question. Where is her house? ” he asked again.
My eyebrows twitched. I don’t know if he’s serious or what. He was still looking around. I doubt if he can see in the darkness of the surroundings.
“That small house in the middle of the fishery is their house. Come on, swim it,” I answered angrily.
He laughed a little so I tightened my grip on the mouse.
"Callisto, let's jog outside," Jelly said.
I felt like I was poured a cold water when I heard Jelly's voice. I couldn't move, I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes. I’m not sure if she heard it, but I hope not.
"Where's West? Are they already awake?" Callisto asked.
“They are still at home, but they will come with us. At the back of our house, I also went here. ” Jelly even pointed the way.
"Callisto, we'll just wait for you in the backyard." She even tapped him on the arm before leaving.
I was bitten by a thorn inside at the thought that they had left at the same time. I was still trying to type his name into the search bar.
What is his last name? Callisto what? What the heck, Celeste! Why would you look at his profile?
“CA-. Sh*t! ”
I stood up suddenly and was holding onto my chest when my laptop suddenly closed. My eyes widened as I looked at the hand holding my laptop.
"I thought you left with Jelly?"
Did I think he was gone? Did he see me typing his name?
"Don't go on like that, come with me," he said seriously.
But I didn't follow them. Instead, I made my way to the kitchen and cooked.
"You didn't go jogging?" My sister snatched the spoon from me and tasted my cooked boiled tomato with egg.
My forehead is almost knit, why would I come? Even if Callisto invited me that wasn’t enough to come along. Also, I don't like jogging.
I shook my head slightly and focused my attention on what I was cooking.
"Is it delicious?" I asked curiously.
She just raised an eyebrow and looked at me critically. I kept an uninterested face. I even raised an eyebrow at her before taking back the spoon that she didn’t want to let go of. Reluctantly, she reached out and sidestepped near the sink.
“You change the topic, are you annoyed with Jelly? Don't worry, they won't stay for long. Aunty's guest will also go home, it just depends on whether if she will chat him!” she exclaimed, laughing.
I stared at her. I never said I hated Jelly. I think my sister's interpretation of my movements was wrong. My eyebrows met because of her non -stop laughter. There was nothing interesting about what she said except that they were going home.
That’s even better than me having a hard time with it. I lose focus because of Callisto.
“Why do I care about Jelly? Even if she does it all at the same time, ” was my helpful answer.
That's true! I don't know why my sister is making this an issue. My grip on the spoon tightened as she laughed even harder. She won't stop!
I forced myself to focus on what I am cooking and endured her laughter. I thought it would never stop but she still faced me with tears in her eyes while trying to keep her mouth shut.
