As she walks past the Castle, she admired its beauty, ‘I wonder what happened to the royal family, they were always so nice, Queen Adelaide still cried the day she found out she has to marry some guy from Germany, apparently with royal heritage,’ Rosalind remembers the fun she and the queen had in school. The last thing she remembers is that the Queen was expecting her firstborn, happily in love with her King from another land.
Rosalind noticed that the gate was standing wide opened and decided that she will have a quick peek around. When she stepped inside, she could not believe her eyes, the wild-grown garden turned into a beautifully kept garden and nearby a little boy was playing.
“Magic,” she says out loud. ‘Why would Adelaide not tell me that they are hiding from the world?’
The little boy looks up at her. At first hesitant, but then he runs over to her. Rosalind knew Werewolves excited as she saw Adelaide shift one day after she shared her secret of being an Enchantress and told Queen Adelaide that she can sense that something is different about her shortly after she turned sixteen. What was standing in front of her was more than just a werewolf.
Rosalind felt a hind of fear, “hi little man, where is your mother?”
Adam looked at her strangely and recognized that she is not a werewolf. He took a step closer and held out his hand. Hesitantly Rosalind took his hand but in a blink of an eye, the little boy pulled her to his level and went straight for her arm. Rosalind saw his fangs and with her natural magic, she enchanted the little boy. She manages to put him to sleep before he managed to bite her. The sleeping spell that Rosalind put on the young Adam would only last for a minute or so. Rosalind ran towards the gate but before she could reach it a large wolf cut her off and knocked her off her feet.
The wolf started to drag her towards the castle. Young Adam came to it and immediately jumped Rosalind. He sank his teeth into her and pierced her skin. In his young mind, it was the best taste ever. The large wolf dragging a knocked-out Rosalind, did not care that Prince Adam is happily sitting on top of the woman drinking her blood.
Once inside the castle, the wolf dragged the woman and left her in front of the royal chairs where King Alaric and Queen Adelaide were sitting. Queen Adelaide was appalled at the sight of her darling boy drinking blood like a demon. Adelaide realizes that the victim is her old friend from school, “Rosalind!” Adelaide jumped off her chair and tried to pull her son off Rosalind. She struggled for a little bit tucking at her child, “let go, Adam,” she pleaded.
Rosalind came to it with the little boy’s teeth still in her flesh. Rosalind felt slightly intoxicated, but she looked around her and saw the people around, she recognized some of them from school days, “Adelaide, help me.”
“I am trying!”
“How does she even see us?” King Alaric asks worriedly.
“She is an Enchantress!” Queen Adelaide spat out of breath as she is pulling on her boy.
With the last of her strength, Rosalind uttered out some dangerous words as she places a spell on the young boy. Prince Adam turned into a werewolf puppy and whelped away, hiding behind his father’s chair.
“What have you done?!” Adelaide did not even know that children can shift into their wolf form.
“I am sorry! He is a monster! He will stay like that till he turns twenty-one. If he does not find someone to love him for the monster he is he will die a monster!”
King Alaric jumped on Rosalind, “undo it now!”
“Never!”
“I will kill you!” Queen Adelaide cries out, standing with her son in her arms. Adam looks like a little puppy.
King Alaric bites Rosalind and rips her arm off, “undo the spell!”
Rosalind screams in pain as the blood spills from her arm socket where it use to be. Rosalind manages to get some magical words out, but before she could finish reversing the spell, she gave her last breath.
“She is dead!” Queen Adelaide cries out.
“Look, something is happening! He is turning back into a human!” King Alaric shouted out in relief.
Prince Adam started to transform back into a human but halfway through; the transformation stopped, leaving the young child half-beast, half-human. Little Prince Adam looked like a human covered with hair. His little paws were oddly shaped as they started to turn into hands now having the appearance of claws. Even though his dog nose retracted he still had the tip of a dog nose and a face full of hair and a mouth full of dog teeth. On top of his head, he still had his wolf ears. Adam clinched to his mother crying, sounding human and not like a puppy dog anymore.
“Get rid of the body and find an Enchanter that can finish reversing the spell!” King Alaric shouted to his pack members.
They search for years but every Enchanter they came across told the same story, “only the Enchanter that cast the spell can reverse it.”
Little Prince Adam grew up half-man, half-human with his Vampire side suppressed by his wolf form.
Prince Adam was strolling in his rose garden that he tended himself when he noticed a man wandering near the castle gates. It was almost dark, the half-moon already hanging in the sky.
Maurice was so deep in thought picking mushrooms that he did not realize that he wandered through the castle gates. By the time he realized, it was already too late. He was amazed by the beauty of the castle and the garden. He frowned as he could swear that the castle was abandoned just yesterday, ‘how did it get fixed up so quick?’
