"Give that to me!" yelled my classmate, who was sporting a pair of thick eyeglasses. If my memory serves me correctly, his name is Alex.
This is a scene that I see every morning on my way to school. This is exactly how it felt to be a student at an all-boys school, isn't it? It's chaotic, noisy, and it feels like we're constantly engaged in a battle in every classroom. If it weren't for everyone throwing things at each other, I would have been greeted with the annoying laughter of my hard headed classmates.
Someone called out, "Hey, Kye!" I couldn't remember his name, so I simply smiled at him.
I sat down in my chair and opened my notebook for the subject Statistics and Probability, so I could finish the homework I hadn't been able to complete the day before.
"You're really dedicated!" he exclaimed, chuckling. He even motioned to his other friends to come closer to us.
I had a strong suspicion that they were planning to make fun of me again. I had to force myself to calm down because I didn't want to appear angry. "If you are only here to cause me inconvenience, please leave." I said this as I closed my notebook before heading out. Kurt and I ran into each other in the hallway.
I'm not sure where this one went. He was completely taken aback when he saw me. I didn't say anything, just stared at him from head to toe and continued walking.
When I arrived in Kiyo's classroom, he was engrossed in his usual activity, which was reading. I excused myself from his classmates, who were throwing various objects at each other. Even if his surroundings are a complete mess, Kiyo manages to concentrate on what he is reading. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to something.
"Kiyo," I said as I pulled a chair up and sat next to him.
"Why?" he asked, not looking up from his book, which he was still reading.
"Could you please show me how to solve this problem?"
I thanked him and returned to my classroom after he finished teaching me. Looking around the room, I realized Greyson hadn't arrived yet. I sighed.
"What happened to Greyson? When you come here, aren't you all together?" Kurt, who was frustrated with his assignment, was the one I approached.
According to what I've observed, he's going to school with Tyler. So, I didn't know where Greyson was because I was riding to school with Lewis and Ethan and Kiyo in a different car.
He kept his notebook inside his bag. It's possible he's finished with the homework. He tucked his hands into his pockets and gave me a serious look as he stared at me. Damn! I'm crazy over those eyes.
"Never waste time looking for someone who isn't here."
"That's the purpose! I'm looking for him since he's not here."
“Why? Did you ever search for me while I was out of your sight."
What is he trying to say? He doesn't make any sense to me at all. When the boys were chatting about basketball, he got up and went over to join in, "Please disregard what I just said. It's just...nothing"
"Greyson! What happened to you!?!" I was concerned when he missed two classes. For those subjects, he was marked absent.
During our lunch break, we were all chowing down in the cafeteria. I'm with Kurt and Greyson at the moment. For some reason or another, we'd frequently have Lewis, Nathan, and Kiyo join us. Taking GAS together meant we were constantly in the same place. On the other side, Kiyo and Lewis chose STEM, Ethan took ABM, and Tyler was already in college, making it practically difficult for him to join us.
"I accidentally hit a young lady with my car. It was just an accident." Kurt's burger was about to be devoured when he snatched it from his grasp.
“Tss! Bro, please mind your manners," Kurt muttered, a snarl on his face.
"I'm already hungry. Do you think you can blame me?" Grey took a taste of the burger and then handed it back to Kurt. "Many thanks, bro!"
"An accident? Who?” I asked, stroking the back of my neck.
"I don't know who she is, but I took her to the hospital, where the doctor confirmed she was fine." He responded in a calm and collected manner.
I smacked him in the face with a plastic bottle, and he groaned, "Why?!?"
"If Tyler will find out about this means that you are dead!"
"Guys, please don't tell him. I'm going to punch you!"
"Leave us alone so that I wouldn't tell him," Kurt said with a sneer.
"Kurt?! So, what exactly are you saying? Why are you allowing him to leave after just arriving?" I asked, my voice exaggerated.
"I'm just... sorry," He sighed, clearly defeated. They exchanged glances with each other. Grey made a sly smirk.
"All right, bro. Apology accepted. Calm down." Grey replied.
"Why are you permitted to leave the campus? You're with Kurt and Tyler, aren't you?"
"I brought them here, but I said goodbye because I need to speak with the gang," he explained as he lit a cigarette, which I grabbed and stepped on. "Wait, what the–"
“Hmm?” I widened my eyes. "Are you trying to say something?"
"We'll pay a visit to the girl you ran into later. We must continuously ask as to her well-being." The words came out calmly and I continued to eat while we talked. If only he hadn't shown up, I'm confident I would have finished my meal by now.
“Alright. Do you want to come with us, Kurt?"
"No, I have a practice with Lewis."
"I missed playing basketball, but getting into a fight while playing basketball was something I missed even more."
"It's simply a matter of getting back on the team."
"I'm not going to do that. I can't hit someone in the face because I'll be branded as an unprofessional."
Greyson is a complete nutcase. Of course, it's basketball, not boxing, he shouldn't punch someone in the face."
"I'm sorry, Miss. I'm sorry. I'm in a hurry, which is why I was speeding up earlier," he explained as he took the girl's arm in his and kissed it softly. I pinched his ear. He's looking at me with a puzzled expression.
"Please don't bring your craziness into this place, Grey." I was serious when I said it. He nodded, as if he were a child.
"Don't be worried, Miss. The cost of your hospitalization will be covered by me," Grey asserted, a smile on his face.
The moment I heard that, I grabbed his arm and we both excused ourselves from the girl.
"Are you sure? What would you say to your parents if they found out about this?"
"Bro, you know me! I'll just sell the rest of my belongings. It's as simple as a slice of cake."
"It's a piece of cake!" I pressed my hands on my temples because I was feeling agitated. "The question is, do you have any idea how much it would cost you to pay her hospital bills? Whatever you want to do, go ahead and do it. I'm not saying that you shouldn't help her, but…"
